1) Each team has its own post. You will need to look at the different ones to find your name.
2) Please make sure you read the very first post! It gives the rules and basic info.
3) Continue chatting in the BLC #5 Pre-Chat thread until your captain or co-captain starts the team thread. Please wait for this! Your team's thread will be post by tomorrow night I promise!
4) If your name has been accidentally left off, well I apologize!! It was just a small oversight that can be easily fix. Just send my a SparkMail message and I will get you on the list!! There were more than 280 people signed up, I was bound to make 1 or 2 errors. :(
We officially begin on Monday, June 2. It is an 8-week challenge. So, the 8th week is July 21-27. The first week, June 2-8, is referred to as the starting week. This is when you will post your starting weight. Beginning the 2nd week, you will start posting what you have lost. There will be one final weigh in the week of July 28, this will be the pounds you lost during the 8th week.
2) TEAM SCORE
There are three ways you can get points for your team: pounds lost, daily points and weekend challenge participation.
a. WEEKLY WEIGH-INS: During the starting week, you will post your beginning weight. Each subsequent week, you will need you to post your current weight. This includes those dreaded weight gains that we have all experienced at one time or another. Each week you need to post your current weight by Wednesday at the latest. Come Thursday, the winning team will be announced.
b. DAILY POINTS: We will also be tracking our healthy points since the challenge is about more than weight loss; it is about developing healthy habits! Here is how the points will be figured/per day.
1pt for at least 8 glasses of water drank 1pt for staying with calorie range per day 1pt for eating breakfast 1pt for eating at least 5 servings of freggies 1pt for strength exercises 1pt for cardio exercises 1pt for choosing wisely (i.e., more good carbs, fats, protein & less bad ones) 1pt for setting and following a personal goal 1pt for daily posting on your team thread 1pt for support/motivating a fellow team member
Remember the points are based on the honour system and your best judgment! Your team captain/co-captains will give you more info about when to post. As with the weekly weigh-ins, the previous week’s point totals must be posted by Wednesday at the latest because the last week winning team will be announced on Thursday.
c. WEEKEND CHALLENGES: Each weekend there will be a friendly competition between the teams. If you can participate, then please do so! Not only is it fun, your team’s final score will be helped greatly if you do! More info will be provided before each weekend so you will know what is expected.
3) WHERE TO POST
Every week, each team will have one or more threads: generally a daily check-in thread and maybe a separate weigh-in thread. Normally on Sunday night, your captain/co-captains will start the next week’s thread. It will generally have the team’s name, the week and a very brief description. Here is an example of what you might see YELLOY RAYS – DAILY CHECK IN WEEK 2 or BLUE DOMINATORS – WEEKLY WEIGH IN WEEK 4.
4) WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU
a) EIGHT WEEK COMMITMENT: The Biggest Loser Challenge runs for 8 weeks. Your teammates need a 100% commitment from you! If you are leaving for a vacation during the 8 weeks, let your team know. If life happens, and you can no longer participate in the challenge, let your team know! PLEASE!! PLEASE!! PLEASE!!
b) INTERACT WITH YOUR TEAMMATES: This does not mean you have to be online 24/7! Just try to check in daily if you can. Your teammates will help you when you struggle; they will celebrate with you when things are going well; and they will provide valuable information if you have questions. Make sure you do the same from them!
c) HAVE FUN: The Biggest Loser Challenge is a great way to meet other 30 Somethings team members, lose weight and feel great about yourself.
