"Broccoli was developed in Italy and is well established as one of the major anti-cancer foods. Over the past 20 years, numerous studies have concluded again and again that people who eat an abundance of broccoli have fewer cancers of the colon, breast, cervix, lungs, prostate, esophagus, larynx, and bladder. Broccoli contains indoles, which can help inactivate harmful estrogens that can promote the growth of tumors, sulforaphane, which stimulates cells to produce cancer-fighting enzymes, and beta-carotene, another cancer fighter.
Broccoli contains some 3% of protein and is one of the richest vegetable sources of calcium, iron and magnesium. Moreover, broccoli is very rich in vitamins A and C, exceeding even oranges in the concentration of the latter.
Broccoli can be eaten raw in salads or with dips, or it can be steamed and eaten as is, or served with a light nut, or similar sauce."

Anyone have the recipe for broccoli salad? I know it's chopped broc, raisins, red onion, maybe bacon and ranch dressing? Thinking if the dressing is kept to a minimum and light/FF is used, this might not be too bad! Love the stuff!

I LOVE broccoli! My favorite way to eat it is steamed with a little pepper on it. Or I like it raw in my salad. One thing that people get a kick out of is my kids LOVE broccoli too. Sometimes I melt some velvetta cheese with with little bit of milk and drizzle it over the steamed broccoli.
I'm looking forward to seeing some other recipes!

A diamond is a piece of coal that stuck with the job.
I actually purchased a "head" (not sure if that's what it's called) of broccoli at the grocery store Saturday when I did my shopping for the week. I've never cooked with the fresh stuff, it's always been frozen broccoli. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it but I plan to eat some this week. I will report back what I did with it.
