wahoo way to see it that way. I too looked at large goals and was told if you focus on the whole picture you may not see what is truly in there. By using small goals you will get to the large one without even knowing you are doing it! You can do it just focus on taking baby steps to where you want to be.
The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.
All the other times that I began this journey, that frame of mind is part of why I turned around and went back....got SO overwhelmed with the "big picture"! I posted something on facebook earlier and a friend of mine made a quote which I added to it. His was the first part and mine the second and it's going to be one of my "words to live by" quotes! I am going to be excited for every single pound I lose!
Inch by inch, it's a cinch, Pound by pound, now how does that sound!!
God is my strength!
NOTE: My weight loss ticker is done up for shorter goals and once reached will change goal weight again.
Great thinking! Every pound lost is a victory to celebrate!
For me it's not just pounds lost. I started a bootcamp program this month at the local fitness center. I'm not losing pounds and inches as fast as I had thought I would with such a hard workout but what I have noticed is I'm not tired all the time, my attitude is better and did I mention how I'm not lazy like I was before! HA! I have such a battle with fatigue that I blame a thyroid problem for the meds try to help but just weren't cutting it. Who knew killing myself at bootcamp would be the answer to the problem!
I just had a thought... I was looking at my goals and thinking about how much weight 100 pounds really is. You know how much work I will have to put into losing 100 pounds? I started to get very overwhelmed, almost in a panic. So I decided that I need to make smaller goals, ones that wont give me some much stress. Guess what? If I lose 5 pounds 20 times... that is 100 pounds. I can lose 5 pounds easy-ish. I can work at it 5 pounds at a times and celebrate these small successes and feel great about what I have done :)
