I have been struggling with my challenge of avoiding drive thrus. I did avoid them while we were on vacation but have hit one at least since we have been back this week. So I am renewing my challenge goal and shooting for the next 30 days to be drive thru free!! It is better for me and the environment.

I'm resolving to write in my journal once a day. I'm always so stressed out... I know this will help. When I was younger, I kept a journal every day for years! I just stopped at some point. I'm off to the bookstore to pick up a new journal and get started!

Okay I finally broke on my fast food commitment and went to McDonalds. emoticon emoticon . The good side is that I know I won't be there again. I lost all taste for the place. I guess it took a couple of weeks to realize that I didn't need it anyway.

I'm thinking about what my goal will be for July. I want to continue the no fast food. I think i'll give up chocolate for July.

My goal is to drink lots of water and keep a journal of everything that goes into my mouth! aND TO START MY DAY OFF WITH HEALTHY BREAKFAST EVERY MORING! I am also going to wear my pedometer every day. emoticon

my june goal is to work up to 5000 steps a day n maintain it... and drink at least 12 cups of water a day

My challenge is going okay. My goal was to quit drinking soda, which I used to drink at least once a day. I've had three this entire month so far, which is GREAT for me. July's goal will be to cut it out entirely.

We have to know that sometimes people will let us down. Caring about others and loving others takes risk and probably more than we have in us most of the time. But I think the more we put out there, we'll have something returned greater than we could have imagined.

I'm starting now but I guess better late than never. I'm going to be more self consciese of what I am putting in my mouth. I really haven't benn watching what I eat and gained 20lbs. I also plan on using a journal and writing down everything that I eat and my feelings everyday. Wish me luck.

Messed up today...and didn't realize it until about 4 hours later! Swore off soda for June and July...had to eat lunch out today instead of at home and got a diet soda with my lunch without even a second thought. It wasn't until I was home from work for the day and writing in my food journal that I realized...OH MY GOSH...lol....well, tomorrow's another day.

Did well today with most temptations - skipped the doughnuts, pizza and pop at Sports Day today... Brought along my own healthy snacks and water!!! The only temptation I ate was two bites of Rhubarb Pie (no crust) that my daughter didn't finish.

I am doing better -- recommitted to my plan as of Saturday. So far doing great. Now to ensure I eat enough calories before 8pm so I don't get the evening munchies.

I just joined SP, and this will be my first challenge as well. I am going to give up fast food -- McDs, BK, Taco Bell, Wendys, etc. I will allow myself to eat Subway since we have travel plans that will require us to eat while we're on the road.

I am kinda new to Sparkpeople..I belonged before, but then got pregnant and stopped logging on. So now I am back, but my goal is to give up soda completely. I need to cut out caffeine for health reasons and its just calories I did not need anyways. So far I've been doing good...three days down, twenty-seven to go.

I do hope I am responding correctly. I am not new to Spark, but I am using it again after quite a long hiatus. I have decided that this time is THE TIME. emoticon I quit smoking a year ago so if I can do that I can lose half of me right? For this challenge I have decided not to needlessly snack. I have my snack times set, and I have my snack foods and know how much I can have and that is what I will eat. I will not grab a bag of chips when I am bored and eat the 3/4 of it for an example. emoticon

Hi, I am new to SparkPeople and I have been focusing more on what I am putting in my mouth and I'm amazed at how easy it is to over eat when you choose poor food choices. I started the June - July challenge on the weekend. I am using 2% milk instead of half and half cream in my coffee. I am still drinking half a pot of coffee each morning, but baby steps.. I am not ready to give that up just yet. emoticon

Well I vowed to give up speed eating and try to practice mindful eating for June.
I'm not doing so hot so far...
IF I remember the mindful eating (I usually remember when I have 3 bites left) I get distracted really easily.
I didn't think this would be so hard.
Not sure if I should change my goal or keep trying.
It's not much of a goal if you don't even remember to do it!

Well team I am new to the group and although I have been using sparkpeople for a few months I have never use the support group so I am hoping this will be me even more in my goals. Thanks all for the good support. Dad came home tonight. I walked about 1/2 mile last night and today was at a Vendor Fair for work and walked the Citizen's Bank Park about 3 times around and several flights of stairs. I feel like I got some workouts in, even if it wasn't at the gym. Trying for Aqua class tomorrow morning.

Our hospital has a rehabilitation room inside of it, check and see if your hospital has something similar to that. Check and see what their options are. You might find that they have a small exercise area that you'd be allowed to use for small periods a day.

I am going to cut my carb intake in half and double my vegetable intake...salad for lunch!
Dont let the world get you down Kelly! You can do things at the hospital...park as far away as you can and walk fast, or pace the hallways...bring your own nutritious foods so you arent at the mercy of the vending machines...good luck and prayers for your relatives!
