It isn't necessarily activity based...I just like to think up the exercise stuff..lol.

I just started doing it a few months ago so feel free to make suggestions and maybe others will want to do some other stuff, aside from the physical.

I was just trying to think of something to shake us up. :) Hope I didn't sound cranky.

well, I was trying to keep the challenges physical. As far as the exercises go you can do 1 on the first and so on. The number is up to you.

If you guys are interested in having food challenges let me know. It's not all about me....lol

Sounds great for the first week, the inclusive of exercises. Will be a little harder with 31 of them =D.

What about a week of vegatables or fruit with every meal? Breakfast will be hard but like
Monday breakfast - banana
Tuesday : breakfast banana, snack - carrots
Wednesday breakfast apple, snack - celery sticks, lunch spinach leaves
Thursday - breakfast - mango

well you get my point.. until friday would be fruit, veggie, veggie, fruit, fruit and veggie
something like that? Is it too confusing?

Cecelia, your new challenge sounds great. I like the idea of adding your own exercises because I can't do anything requiring me to get on the floor due to cramping in stomach muscles. I am being treated but not helping a whole lot. This will be a challenge for me because I don't know many exercises so maybe I will learn some more.I will do what I can that I promise!

any suggestions for may??

I was thinking of a few things..
add something new each day..your choice, for instance

May 1st jumping jacks ___quantity____
May 2nd jumping jacks, crunches ____quantity
May 3rd jumping jacks, crunches, lunges____quantity

and so on...it would be a lot but hey this is a challenge!! Just think before you do a certain exercise...for instance crunches...maybe on the 2oth lol

posts would be like above but on each day you can just name the new exercise and the quantity and we will assume on day 3 you repeated 1 &2 as well.

Oh new here too starting week 4 as of tomorrow (weekends are my cardio rest days)
I'll try and make the empire state building by the last day!
Empire State Building 1860 stairs to the top = 266/day
Lil more than 266 in the two days I have but I'll try and go as far as I can!
This really is an awesome challenge and makes me actually look forward to working out tomorrow. I was dreading trying to find something to do.

No minutes -- on medical restriction

Medical Restriction for part of week

4/19: none
4/20: 50 stairs at work
4/21: about 60 leg lifts (30 ea side), about 50 crunches
Not too good of a week...but I'm just getting started!

Week 4 results (04/22 - 04/28): I'm climbing the Statue of Liberty 354 stairs to the top = 51/day.
4/22: none
4/23: none
4/24: 0.5 mile leisure walking (about 1,000 steps)
4/25: 1.5 mile walk (March for Babies) + football game..estimate about 4,000 steps
4/26: none - off day
4/27: 30 stairs at work + 1 mile walk (about 2,030 steps)
4/28:
Total: 7,030 steps (well beyond my goal!)

4/24: 212 steps (Washington Monument DONE.)
4/25: 131 steps
4/26: 117 (Statue of Liberty DONE).
4/27: 65 steps so far today (65 of Pyramid of Gaza 800 stairs).

This month is a bit different but we will definitely use last month's format again. This month I am assigning challenges by the week!! Have fun!

April 1st-7th Water challenge- Drink a minimum of 64 ounces. Which one of us will drink the most?

April 8th-14th Miles or Minutes Challenge- Track your miles or your minutes. Post your exercise and the miles or minutes here. Who is up for topping the rest of us in minutes and/or miles?

April 15th-April 21st The Ten's Challenge- Do everything in multiples of ten. Ten stairs, ten minutes, ten miles, ten sets, just ten (or 100 would be 10 sets of 10).

April 22nd-28th Stairs Challenge-pick a monument and try to climb the amount of steps shown. Finish early? Move onto the next building!

Spanish steps 138 stairs to the top = 20/day
Washington Monument 228 stairs to the top = 33/day
Statue of Liberty 354 stairs to the top = 51/day
Pyramid of Gaza 800 stairs to the top = 114/day
Eiffel Tower 1665 stairs to the top = 238/day
Empire State Building 1860 stairs to the top = 266/day

April 29th-May 4th All of half/Half of All-do half the exercises shown (the complete number shown for that exercise) or do half the number listed for ALL of the exercises.

30 backwards crunches
30 squats
20 standing abductions
20 tricep dips with chair
20 runner's lunges (both sides)
40 Wall push ups
20 bicep curls (each arm)
20 Knee lifts (each leg)
4 Banana's
