I walk. I try to go and challenge myself a little further each day. Only to what I think I can do. Also I split up my housework chores throughout the week. Makes for some extra cardio since I kind dance out while say doing the vacuuming. It's kind fun.

When thinking of your weight loss and fitness motivation & weight loss goals, remove all fears by:

1.Focusing on the good
2.Focusing on the objective
3.Focusing on the goal
4.Focusing on the solution
5.Focusing on my aim
6.Focusing on the true destination

Thank you a lot. I find I'm having plateau weeks. At first I thought I had lost weight because of the cancer in me, but I have lost since it was cut out in November!! Since you work for an oncology group you probably know how difficult getting enough exercise in. I am especially having a problem when trying to lift my arm where the lymph nodes were taken. Do you have any suggestions to help me?

Way to go EVWINGS. CONGRATS on being a survivor. I actually work for a large oncology practice here in MI. To be active is a challenge in it self when going through what you going through.

I'm restarting I was doing so good the 1st of the year but injured my knee and lost my motivation. I like mixing up things. I have a lot of different DVD'S, I do the treadmill and Tues is Zumba night. I need to get back into summer clothes so I need to stay motivated.

By attempting something really difficult and outside of your comfort zone, you will discover how strong you really are.

I try to walk and stretch everyday, Sometimes the walking is in place or with a walker at a much slower pace. 21Mar2011 I became a breast cancer survivor. I try to keep up at least 15 min as much as possible going through the radiation and chemo. Since then, each week I've been trying to add at least 5 minutes. I am now at 35 mins@ day, When everything is healed, etc, I'm going to try some strength training. I really need it.

There's nothing wrong with using the word "diet". It comes from the Greek word "diaita", meaning way of life. So to lose weight and keep it off we need to change our way of life.

I mainly exercise using dvds/videos. At the moment I am in the middle of doing Chalene Johnson's Turbo Fire which is cardio intense. When I'm done, I will do a TF and ChaLEAN Extreme hybrid cos I love the strength training in CE.

When days and time permit, I also take a walk on our gravel road, jump on the trampoline or go dancing (I heart dancing!). We have a huge yard and a broken riding mower so I also do 3 to 4 days of PUSH mowing an hour or so at a time to get er done every week or two. We have a few garden plots so there's always something to do there for some cardio :D

You're very welcome, Sellina. And I totally understand the frustration with that stupid scale, lol. The weight will drop, trust me, if you stay consistent and avoid constantly checking your weight. I switched to checking my weight once a month to avoid pulling the little hair I have out, LMAO.

The only initial downside to weight training is the increase in weight due to an increase in muscle mass but the benefits outweigh the nagging number issue.

If you love P90X, you will find a ton of hybrid programs featuring Insanity on Beachbody.com message boards. So you wouldn't have to totally discard P90X. Let me know if you have any questions, I'll help in any way possible, ok.

AFY,

Thank you for responding! I can truly understand being an workout addict. I am hooked on P90X right now. In addition, I see a personal trainer 3 nights a week to do a group boot camp. I'm hooked on that as well.

I've lost some inches with the P90X, but my weight has increased. I understand it's all do the increase in muscle weight, but I'm REALLY trying to get down on the scale. I haven't reached the point where I can look at myself and say I don't care what the scale says cuz I know I look good. LOL...One day. That's my goal. But right now, I see the post pregnancy belly flab that is stubborn as all heck!

You convinced me to replace the P90X with the Insanity. Once I lose more fat I can return to Tony Horton.

Thank you again.

Hi Pink,

Thanks very much for the support. I'm an Insanity addict, emoticon . And I quit beating myself over pounds lost because for some strange reason, I'm much heavier than people perceive me and I work my ass off and eat clean.

So I just go with what I see in my mirror every morning, if I see my abs, can flex my guns, see pronounced traps and back muscles and striations on my deltoids, I'm doing fabulous, LOL.

I feel much tighter and lean now and I haven't even touched weights in the past two months. You'll love Insanity and if you have a considerable amount of weight to lose, you'll see a significant loss in inches especially.

AFY,

How was Insanity? I want to try it but haven't met anyone who has done it. What were your results? Did you lose pounds or inches (or crossing fingers here...) or both?

Awesome job on completing that!

Mon, Wed, Fri in the evenings I do my bootcamp.

Sat mornings I do a 5 - 8 mile run (depending on how much time I have, how soon the sun will rise, or number of errands I have to run).
