Your race report made me smile and laugh out loud how you kept going just a bit further and wasn't planning on walking but you wore your workout shoes, etc. I bet you will do great on your next HM and no sickness then I hope! Bad colds esp. respiratory ones can be so dang it annoying! Great job on your daughters finish.

Teri, rest up and then start your training again. The beauty about running is if you miss a race or did not do as well as you wanted to, another race is coming up soon.

wow, too bad about the respiratory issues, what a bummer. at least you had some fun and pulled out before anything got too serious. Hey, you walked 8.5, that accounts for something.. you'll get back on your feet soon enough and then look out!

Had my first HM scheduled for today - the Iron Horse in Midway, Kentucky. I've been battling a sinus infection and a light case of pneumonia. I did not intend to participate - only to go and cheer on my daughter, but was sucked in by friends, the environment and the crowd... I had no illusions of finishing, but managed to walk 8.5 miles before heading for the alternate finish line. This event had a minimum pace that I could not manage - but I'm not disappointed. Everyone was great and supportive - met Jeff Galloway! See my blog on the event here:
