Doesn't it feel great! You did better time that you wanted... So happy for you...I know the feeling!

A little bit late, but happy that I've finished my first half on the Gold Coast (Australia) on 1 July! I was hoping for a time of under 2:15 so was thrilled with 2:10, especially as I had a hip injury just weeks before the race and had to rest rather than train.
The event itself was great and well organised, including the expo and shuttles to the race start. My friend and I had fun recording videos for each other at the expo, which popped up on big screens along the run, along with still photos and messages from other friends. Nothing like a 'you can do it' to put some extra bounce in your step. Also really appreciated all the supporters and volunteers cheering us on. Really good feel.
Beautiful weather and being winter here, very pleasast temperature for run (22C = 72 F?) and for sitting around on the grass enjoying a well deserved latte and watching the big screen and helicopters follow the marathon (their route headed south from the start, before heading north and going over half marathon course).
We spent several extra days here to enjoy the beach (didn't go for a swim - too cold) and eat some great meals.
