I bought one that had raised lettering and the lettering melted off (not in the laundry), it got so bad that I stopped using it and bought an Under Armour one that works wonders.

If you use Facebook and haven't already done so, "like" ActiveBands, and you'll get these coupon codes.
There's a deal going on right now, through Sept 25, for 40% off of our order. Use coupon code "deal40". You still have to pay for shipping.
I now have 3 solid bands that I use for working out. I've bought 3 little girl-sized bands for my niece for Christmas, and doggone it, I thought they were so cute that I just ordered the same ones for myself in big girl-size! (the Flower combo pack).
enjoy

Thanks to CARYNW, I bought a few Active Bands at an awesome price! They are super cute but I haven't worn one yet. I'm going to check my local running store for Sweaty Bands next time I'm there.

I got my 3 new Active Bands in the mail this week and wore one yesterday, it stayed put just as well as the Sweaty Bands! Final summary:

Active Bands: Way cheaper, but limited styles and they seem to have more of the wider bands.. I had to look hard to find the skinnier ones that I prefer when running. Stayed put!

Sweaty Bands: More expensive, but a ton of selections! Also stayed put.

Both worked like a champ, in my opinion, it comes down to how much you're willing to spend for a little more selection. Definitely recommend either!

Thanks for posting Cary. I found SB at my running store the other day, but decided to wait to spend the $. The sale at AB was too good to pass up. I ended up ordering 3. I can't wait to receive them!

Update: I ended up getting a pixie cut, but running in this heat I sweat so much. On my 10K yesterday at about mile 5, I couldn't keep the sweat and sunscreen out of my eyes. I think I was running with one eye open for a while. I knew better and should have had a headband on.

I wanted to pass this along, too.. I heard about a similar product, Active Bands (activeheadbands.com). They have a sale going on, it's good through today, I think, and they are a little cheaper than Sweaty Bands. I have NOT used one of these yet, but I did order some, since they're on sale.

So the deal is you get 40% off of 3 bands or more, plus free shipping. Enter code july40 when you check out. I got 3 bands for $16. They don't have as many patterns as SB, either, but if they are truly made the same way, that's a pretty good deal for me!

@ Godsdove.. I'd LOVE to have a pixie cut..But wish there was a photo site where i could "photo shop" haircut styles onto my head to see if i'd like it... My hair is to my shoulder blades and i'd hate to cut it off and NOT like it...lol..

I also really like the Bondi Bands, I have two of them that I wear.

Haven't tried the sweaty bands, may have to look into those.

I have a pixie cut, so don't really need headbands to keep hair out of my eyes....LOL....but I do need them to catch the copious amounts of sweat!!! I do have a Sweaty band, which I like (my friend LOVES hers...she has more hair than I do). I want to get a Bondi band though! Thanks!

I have 2 of the Heavy Sweating Bondi Bands and love them!

I guess we all have funky heads - LOL! These are the first ones to stay on and keep the sweat out of my eyes. I have wore them for my 10K, Half Marathon and 5K's.

Going to order the Tiara one for the Disney Princess.

Thought it was the shape of my head too! I'll have to try them...that can be my next "reward". I've got three headbands so far and every one slips off! A ponytail is a must for me as I have longish hair but the front and sides are shorter and don't catch.

I ordered 5 bondibands thru the mail this spring. 3 of them are exotic prints in a slippery material. They work for me if I have the back of my hair down, but if I put my hair in a pony tail, they slip right off. The other 2 are a less slippery material and they do stay put, but they are too big for my head, so I must twist them over my pony tail in back, then they are tight enough. So mixed review. emoticon

Thank you for this post and recommending Sweaty Bands and Bondibands! I too thought I had a funny little head and head bands slide right off in a matter of time. I need to go to my running store to pick up for packet for this Sunday's 10K. I will pay attention and see if they have either in the store, Cary I too love saving $$ on shipping, although the tax here is 10.75%, so it depends sometimes. lol.

I like Bondibands for the same reason--they are wide, super absorbent, cute, and stay put. I'll have to check out the Sweaty Bands, though. Love finding stuff that really works!

I'll second that! I got one for our local St. Patrick's Day race and was surprised that it stayed on the whole time. I've always thought that my head must be shaped weird because I could never wear those cute headbands that the girls always are wearing at the gym and in magazines - they'd always slip right off my head in 10 minutes or less! These are definitely cute headbands and they stayed on for me as well!

So, some of you ladies might already know about these, but if you don't, and you can't stand hair in your face when you run, you should totally try some Sweaty Bands. I had some free time this past Friday before I had to pick up my kiddo from camp, so I made a quick trip to one of our local running stores, and they carry Sweaty Bands. They're these super-cute headbands with a velour back instead of silicone or grippy stuff. I've heard about them and wanted to try them, but they're not cheap and I really didn't want to pay the shipping on top of that.. but since they were right in front of me...

I wore mine on a 13 mile trail run this weekend, and that sucker did not budge! I could not believe how well it gripped, even when it got sweaty! I've tried a bunch of other headbands, but I think I'm sticking with these now. Check 'em out if you need a good headband.
