I know I am late on this subject but. It made me think of a quote form Tawnie Gomes, who wrote "No More Excuses". She was hit by car while out running and was sidelined for quite a while but came back and run many marathons since. She said, "It's a get to, not a have to" and that makes it all more clear when you this story. She would love to be able to just run on two healthy legs like we do!!!
So let's get out there and run because we can!!!

Kim

I need to get this done for me and only I can do it!

you can do it--start with the first step and use her story for your inspiration. when i'm whining about having to go running or trying to think of reasons to not go, i think of an aquaintance of mine who became a paraplegic in an accident. when i think of what she would give to be able to take one step, much less run, it doesn't take much more motivation to put on my shoes and go.

You are right- very inspiring! gives us all something to think about when we just "don't feel like" doing all the training for an event

Of course you can. That woman is certainly a motivation for us all... but each and every one of us that overcomes our own health and fitness demons should feel proud that we are probably motivating someone too! Go for it! You can so do it.

If this woman can run 130 miles, then I can certainly walk 13.1
