I've not taken any classes, but I've wanted too. I just lack the means to be able too.

I have never done an actual workout class myself. The whole idea behind it seems a bit daunting to me. I feel like where I am right now on my journey I would not be even a little bit comfortable with working out with a group of people. I workout mostly at my home doing zumba, going for walks, and doing the 30 Day Shred. Hopefully after this summer I will have lost some weight through the biggest loser challenge, and I will be more comfortable working out in the gym at college in the fall!!

I've been considering taking a local Zumba class, but I'd like to get better at it by myself at home before I do it in public. Ü

I took one workout class once but it kind of felt weird being the only guy in the class and being picked on by the workout instructor. So I kind of left it back I had a gym membership.

Question: Do you take any workout classes? If so, which workout classes are your favorite? Have you been (or are you) scared or nervous to take a workout class? Do you have an recommendations on how to get over those feelings?

Yes I take workout classes.
Monday is R.I.P.P.E.D., Zumba, then Aqua Zumba.
Tuesday is Aqua Zumba, Hula Dance Class, and R.I.P.P.E.D.
Wednesday is Pilates and Swing Dance Class.
Thursday is Aqua Zumba, R.I.P.P.E.D., and Zumba.
Friday is Zumba
Saturday is Zumba and R.I.P.P.E.D.

I love the Zumba, Aqua Zumba and dance classes. Soon I will be taking Tango dance classes.

I am not afraid of classes. I was with the water classes because it required me in a bathing suit. I see all kinds of bodies in the water, some fit and other not fit one bit, so I don't mind it at all. I fit right in. I was nervous with the Swing Dance class but it's so much fun and so my philosophy is have fun in all the classes you do. It doesn't matter if you mess up or if you are learning, all that matters is having fun. I do my best when I'm not thinking about anything. I just react to it and that's when I'm having the most fun too. Get out there and get moving! This is for life making it fun and who cared what other think. They wont stop me from having fun.

I used to take a ton of workout classes. Monday would be water aerobics, Tuesday was pilates, Wednesday was body pump, Thursday was deep water aerobic, and Friday was my freelance, do-what-I-want-for-exercise day. Anything in the water was my fave...used to swim laps in addition to the aerobics...but alas, that has all ended, too, thanks to my gym shortening their hours to close by 7pm.

As fr being nervous our scared to take an exercise class...I never had any problems with it. I tend to be competitive and would push myself to excel, so if I make a misstep, I often don't feel it until the following day...but I always went back.

As for getting over reservations about attending, my best recommendation would be to watch the class, familiarize yourself with the instructor, and determine whether your fitness level is consistent with the class expectations. Only you can decide when it is right for you to pursue a class environment.

Since I started back to school I don't workout much less take any workout classes.
I'd like to find time to do that but full time school and full time work leave little time for anything other than homework and sleep (and sleep often suffers to complete the homework! LOL).
