Well to be honest I think we are stopping the biggest loser contest due to lack of interest and partcipation. It has been going on for almost half a year so I think now would be a good stopping point and we will wait about half a year to reintroduce it into the mainstream again.

I'm feeling very good about this week so far.

Eating has gone well and I've tightened things up a bit in terms of eating junk.

When is the next weigh-in Lobo? the 15th?

So, I realiezed yesterday that my plateau problem isn't anything I do during the week, its that when I sit at hom on saturday and sunday instead of being active, I am frequently sitting with a candy bar, or some chips, or a smoothie, or some other food in my hand. So, I am hoping that, now that I realize this very obvious fact, I can work around it. Plus, Satudays I have soccer now, so that will hopefully make up for at least some of my weekend snacking.

276 - I think that is down 3 from the last weigh in

Haven't been doing nearly as well this week though - kind of fell off the wagon so I better get myself back together before the next weigh in or it's going to be bad news :(

Thanks for that bit of insight. I will start taking measurements of those items every week from here on out. I hope that I see good positive results. I know I used to be a high school athelete and I may have weighed more than a normal person at my height but I was built to hit people back then. LOL. Football. I look at the Rock that weights 303 pounds and he looks pretty good for his weight but that is mostly muscle.

you could be putting on muscle as you are losing fat. That would explain looking more trim while gaining weight. Maybe you should keep measurements of some thing--waist, neck, cjest, biceps, and thighs, so that you can compare those results week by week as well.

I do not know what the heck is going on. I have been working out in like 5 day streaks and drinking all my water and keeping my calories under the meter. I have still gained weight and now almost about to get back into the 290's again being at 289.4. What the heck is going on with my body that it just continues to climb in weight. I do not feel like a weight that much. My body is actually looking smaller but the weight continues to climb.

As of today, I'm up .8 lbs from our last actual weigh in, but I am down nearly 5 lbs from last Monday. So its kind of a wash for me. I think I'll be at about the same as I was last time when I weigh in tomorrow.

Lets hope for the best. I did some very hard yard work of digging up and working in all the hard clay I call my flower bed. I built above that stuff and made a raised flower bed.

I weighed in at 268.0 this morning. I was at 271 last monday following a particularly rough easter. I am fairly pleased by the fact that I managed to drop 3 lbs this past week, and my goal is for the scale to read 266 or less on the 3rd. Here's hoping!!

Stepped on the scale this morning and it read 285.4. I guess that is my adjusted weight with sufficient water.

If you are drinking a lot more water, it may take a few days for your body to adjust and stop storing as much water. Good work!

I am honestly afraid of stepping on the scale for fear that I will just be up weight. I have been exercising, and drinking way more water, but the food thing is still catching me. I haven't found any low calorie snacks that I don't get sick of really fast, or that don't leave me looking for more to eat.

I have a 3 day streak going of drinking water and staying within my calorie range and exercising at least 30 minutes a day. My weight has gone up though it though so it may actually be my real weight for a fully hydrated self. 286.4 was my weight this morning. It had been 285.4 the past two days. I have really been strength training and drinking at least 8 glasses of water.

I have drank my water 2 days in a row and worked out the past 2 days. My weight stayed the same both days so I know that that should be my true weigt at 285.4. I will be trying to make it 7 days in the row of working out or doing something similar to that. Me and my wife will be trying to fix our garden bed this weekend and that will require a lot of shoveling and hard labor. So that should be my cardio for the weekend. LOL.

I like the idea of weighing in twice a month - this way we will be able to see some solid losses/gains and if you have an off week, you can still put in a good one before weigh in

I think I really need to stop weight myself the day after a strength training day. up 2.4 lbs for the week. Darn. I though I had done it this week and got back at 279. Oh well. I feel good though. My abs feel tigher and my arms and chest firmer.

Cashrat -

Try doing the elliptical with an incline to give your shins a break...it always seems to work for me. Once they go away then start doing your running again.

As for the junk food, maybe if it's in your budget you should keep your own little store of food in your room - fat free popcorn, trail mix, peanut butter, honey wheat pretzels, stuff like that can really curb the eating urge and you can keep it to yourself so no one else is polisihing it off.

Alright, now I'm really getting pissed off.

I'm at 266 this morning, up another .2

What makes this even worse, is the fact that I have recently regained my shin splints, so my running on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays is temporarily suspended.

I know that food is my current issue as far as not losing weight, since I live at home, and everyone here lives on milkshakes, pizza, and processed sugars. Its inevitable that I will eat some because I can't buy my own food and all of the healthy stuff seems to go the fastest.

So, if anyone has any tips on how to dodge the junk food, or in general any ideas to help me break this plateau, I'd really appreciate it.

I was at 265.5 this morning. Weekends have been really bad lately, so it was good to come out of one down at least a little weight.

i was on the road this morning and for some odd reason, decided to have McD's for breakfast....it definitely was a poor decision as I've been great about not eating there. Guess I'll be working double time this week and making sure I stay on track. This is also hurt by the fact that I'll be spending a lot of time playing Smash Brothers Brawl :)

How's everyone else's week going?

Lobo - I found that if I do abs each time I workout - usually about 5-6 sets, and then end with some pushups - trying to do more each time, that usually feels pretty good

I have been trying to just do at least 2 sets of 12 of both push ups and crunches. I think it has worked out since it only takes about 10 minutes.

Excellent job Lobo -

My name is Brett by the way so you don't have to use my user name haha.

Cashrat - it's all good bro, you'll be ready for next week.

I think this week we should set a mini-challenge though to keep a smaller goal in focus.

I don't even think I still believe this - but I'm down to 279 this morning - down 5.5 lbs total for the week!

I think most of this was this weekend I was very good about my food and I've been hitting the gym 4-5 times a week and it really paid off this week...wow.

its not looking too good, guys. I was up 2 lbs this morning from my last weigh in. I have a 3 hour cardio session tonight, so their shouldn't be that much of a gain at weigh in tomorrow, but I don't think I'll be down weight.

Thanks for the heads up. I will start to measure those areas. I have felt my arms, chest, and abs start to feel tigher these past couple of days I have been doing pushups and crunches.

Yeah, there are a couple ways that I know of - obviously if you belong to a gym one of the trainers should be able to check for you, or you can get a scale that does that - usually more expensive though.

It might also be a good idea to measure your hips, neck, and chest measurements then you can see if you're starting to lose fat in those areas - that could be another good indicator.

Where do you usually do that at? I really don't know what my scale measures. I think it tells me how much water I have.

I went up 2.7. I think mainly for muscle mass because I have incorporated strenght training again and my could feel my arms getting more firm each day and my midsection starting to lose the gut. Sorry guys for that.

I'm down 1.5 this week - that makes me very happy as I thought it was going to be an even push.

I think the no soda challenge would be an easy one to start with.

Either that or fast food/pizza or the gym...I like all of those challenges.

We could start on Wednesday mornings and then report back with our weigh-ins how we did...just my .02

my WI = 135.6 so I'm down 1.0. Yay!

I agree - I want to win a week. Of the suggested challenges, the one that would help me would be to drink the 8 glasses of water, or maybe avoid soda (or pop as we midwesterners call it).

Weigh in day today!!! Hope everyone's feeling fit!

I'm at 265.6-down 1.8 lbs. My goal has been 2 lbs per week, but since that hasn't been going too well, I am a littlre dissappointed, but still-NO GAIN

Anyway...hope everyone is happy with where they wound up this week...even if we don't win the challenge.

As far as our own weekly challenges go, I'm good for anything...no fast food, no soda, working out 4x per week, all sound good...but what day would that start?
