I'm here Joss. Hang in there. You know how these things go sometimes. Are you getting enough sleep and water? I wonder about the sleep since you have a new baby. Watch those energy foods too. Some not only pep us up but can pooch us out while they are doing it.

Whatever the culprit, you can handle it. You did it once and you can do it again. Yes you can!!!!

ahhh poo.
Ever since I decided to hop on the spark people wagon again and try and tone up.... I have put on 3 kgs (approx 8lbs)! It sucks and am feeling really stink as I am making the effort to get fit - although perhaps the glass of wine a night isn't very good for the weightloss??? Surely though only one glass a night would be ok though?

Thursday and Friday...still hanging in there. Been too busy to get into too much trouble, plus I am home alone..now. Well not quite alone. I have my critters to protect me. We did go into town and get supplies for me and my mom while my dh is gone.

No sugar, no caffiene, no gluten..woohoo.

I have been drinking ginger tea and I am running out of it. I can't find it anywhere. It is called Ginger Twist by Lipton. I lost weight and gained my immune system back drinking it years ago when antibiotics quit working on me for a while.

Not so snarkoutgirl. I am already having to start all over with that goal. I am like you with the sweets I have to stay totally away from them or I will crave them and worse. If I eat one I usually can't stop there or if I do I have to fight the cravings for the rest of the day.

My worst problem is eating under tension, though, not even stress, just extreme concentration. Add tension to the mix and concentrate to the point that everything other than what I am doing is on autopilot and I am like a smoker reaching for a cigarette and find myself wondering "How did that happen!"

So basically, I fixed my telescope, but at a price.
My dh took the telescope apart and had his cookies setting there. He handed me the mirror to clean which I did and carefully sat the mirror down, dusted the small mirror, walked by the cookies to get a the duster I was going to use to clean out the inside of the telescope tube before we put everything back together again, and the next thing I remember is swallowing what was left of 2 cookies before I even realized what I had done! Just strictly nervous habit !!!

I was so mad at myself and took it out on my dh for having his cookies there and not saying anything as he had to have watched me grab them! Then felt bad about that.

So I start all over tomorrow on a less tense day. No cappucino tomorrow and no sugar.

Thanks for the encouragement, though, and check on me again in a couple of days to see how I am doing.

Good luck, CINDERRELIC! emoticon

I don't know how you are with food, but I have a terrible sweet tooth. I have a really hard time eating just one of something, so I can't keep anything sweet in the house. Also, the more I eat of something like that, the more I crave it. The weird thing is, if I stop eating sweets, I stop craving them. I allow myself 1 dessert on Fridays and I actually have to go get one because I don't keep any extra in the house.
I'm sure that it will get better after this week when you've met your goal, which I'm sure you will.

Okay, it sounds like I am doing great and I am doing very well, but sometimes you know when things are starting to go awry.

You get little hints like having cappucino becomes a weekly thing instead of a rare thing. Sugar starts creeping back in and instead of once a month or so it is every day. Maybe it is just a cookie and then 2 cookies, all within the limit.

And when you have an intolerance to a food, you find you try to eat just a little now and then and then it becomes a little more often and starts causing the problems again that made you discover the intolerance in the first place.

Well, that is where I am. Not outright eating more than my calories, but eating more foods that I have a problem saying no to and tend to snowball on me.

Well, hold my feet to the fire on this. For the next 7 days I will not order cappucino, I will not have any of my dh's cookies, and I will not eat jelly but once a week.

Hi BSHOWELL and Jossy,
I wrote a blog on what I did to get moving if you want to check it on my spark page. I wrote another blog today about starting the year 30 pounds lighter than last year.
www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_jo
ur
nal.asp?id=CINDERRELIC

One thing I do to get me moving is sit in front of the TV on my stability ball and work out with dumbbells and/or resistance bands. I like using them because you can get them out while you are watching TV and stay occupied with what is on TV to make the time go by faster, and then when I am done I can put them up until I am ready to exercise again.

Another thing I do is make deals with myself that I can watch TV or get computer time as long as I am moving. That works amazingly well for me.

When all else fails I like to dance to music. My favorite exercise song is Proud Mary (Rolling on the River). No wonder Tina Turner is so skinny after that work out!

You girls can do it! Hang in there, and, please, don't curl up with the chocolate, unless it is the last thing you do at night before you go to bed and it is only one 100 calorie stick of dark chocolate and then only if you can just eat one.

As for me I can't eat chocolate or I would eat the whole box of chocolates so I don't keep it in my house anymore. Instead I eat an apple when I am craving sweets or an orange, or a sugar free vanilla pudding cup, or sugar free popsicles, or sip on bottled water to which I add stevia and a flavoring (strawberry, lemon, lime, orange, pineapple, coconut and even banana) and most of the time one of those will work to get me through.

What do you guys do to keep moving and avoid eating the bad for you foods?

Hi BSHOWELL, Happy New Year!
what have you previously done to get it moving? Because today I am at the end of my tether! After 2 weeks, I have only managed to lose 400g (less than 1lb)! I just don't know how I am going to get down to my next goal- these last 2 kgs (6 pounds) are killing me emoticon , I want to give up and sit in the corner with a King size block of chocolate!

This room is where we can post our request for help and support.

I need support this in this new year to lose at least 2 pounds in working toward my next goal of 5 more pounds lost.
