I think I am close to finishing the homicde desk in the game. Pretty cool clue and riddle you have to figure out on the last mission.

I got my pass the other day. I like this method better then getting DLC once you have sold your game or traded it in.

A thing I saw on XBox Live said 70-80. I managed to kill a pedestrian, and I crashed a lot of cars (and into buildings). Well, mostly it was my husband. He liked that, lol. Our end total was around $95k in damages - oops.

Film reels are all over, but they don't seem to be anywhere that the cases are. In order to find them, you need two things: 1) time and 2) a list. They are everywhere. Literally. One is under a bridge. One is in a warehouse office. One is hiding between two train cars. It's impossible to find them all without a list.

Here's a list and map if you don't have the strategy guide:

Well the game is only 20 hours long so I can see you finising fast. However to get 5 star status you have to really get good at it. The story progresses even if the investigation and the interrogation dont pan out. Where do you find film reels. I have some locations and unlock some rare cars but it seems I dont know where to look for those reels. let me know if I have to have some part of the city unlocked prior to getting it.

Glad you like it, Tema!

I got the Lead Foot achievement on Broadway Street, but I saw a tip on XBox Live that said you can do it in the L.A. River (it looks kind of like a culvert) and since there aren't any cars there, it's easy. I got it in a regular police car, I think.

Yeah it would be nice but the game play wouldnt be that great. I recall the GTA mutlitplayer was not really that good. But thats just me. I think LA Noir is a great single player game but I think it would make a horrible multiplayer game. Just saying. But I like being able to check up on your stats via the rockstar club tracker. That is really cool.

I saw you playing the other day! ;) I do wish there was some kind of multiplayer aspect to it though - I rarely play online, but this one would be fun. Just don't know how they'd implement it.

I've seen lots of straight roads, but most of them are pretty traffic-infested. I did find one that was pretty clear, but I really have no recollection of where it was. If I get it, I'll post where I was.

Thanks for the heads up on the acheivements. I totally forgot to do them. I think one is do 80+ miles an hour for 10 seconds. Is there a long stretch of road to get that one on.

I don't really watch any television shows, but I did look up Aaron Staton because he reminds me of a friend of mine, and I was amazed at how much he looks like Phelps. I know he's supposed to, but this isn't just your typical graphical rendering. I'm duly impressed.

So, it's interesting that the faces are so well done that you recognize people in this game. Like when Greg Grunberg (Heroes and Alias) appeared or when we recognized the bartender from How I Met Your Mother!

Haha, it's funny that you mention that. My hubby did go around hunting for golden film reels. He found one of the hidden cars but of course crashed it after going over a hill and slamming into the back of a car. (He is not that great at driving in games but not as a result of GTA.)

He was also walking around and decided that the walking was too slow, so he decided to run everywhere. That worked about as well as driving. He slammed into the back of a woman, which sent her flailing face first into the sidewalk. I laughed so hard. Poor hubby.

Lobo, there is an achievement for causing over $47,000 in damage. You can do it!

I think I got through some of the first couple of cases. I hope to continue on and solve some more and get my intuition up a little. I accidently ran over some people during the last mission i was doing and saw you get points taken away. So now I will drive crazy. I tend to try to drive like GTA but its will not work here.

Yeah! I was reading some questions on a forum, and somebody wanted to know if you could do anything "fun" in it like pick up prostitutes... Kids.

I absolutely LOVE the noire style. The titles of the cases, in that 40s style font, the mixture of black and white, the mentality of psychologists back then ... it's just so incredibly cool. Like a 1940s episode of Law & Order mixed with a Choose Your Own Adventure book.

Tonight my husband wants me to let him commandeer some vehicles so he can drive around town and look for film reels. hehe

It is staying true to the Noir aspect. Noir are typically slow moving. So if your thinking this is going to be a GTA style type game you better move along. The action only happens when it needs to because this is really a detective game. So all you call of duty junkies please move on.

I'm having a good time with this game! The graphics are really interesting; the city is beautiful, but the people seem sometimes a little blocky or have misconstructed faces. Still the expressions are amazing. The technology makes me really excited for future games.

While it's slower paced than GTA or RDR, it still pulls me in as I try to solve the cases. It seems that no matter what you do, you can't fail. (You can fail the mini missions, when you answer a call on your dispatch radio, but you can just redo them.) I mistook someone's truth for a lie, and she wouldn't give me any more info, but I still had no problem solving the case.

If you fancy yourself an armchair sleuth, this is a great game. The strategy guide helps (my husband is obsessed with it, but I like to try to figure it out on my own, lol) and is actually pretty impressive on its own - huge and full color and full of information.

welll the game is not suppose to be an action packed game. So the story will move slowly. Your job is to solve crimes and there will be a couple gun fights and intense moments but this game is like portal 2 where you have to think of the actions that you do. I cant wait.

I have to say, my husband was playing it yesterday, and it looks great, the characters are incredible. He doesn't like the controls at all though, and is having trouble figuring out what he's supposed to do to move the storyline forward

Mine will be on my porch when I get home from work today. The strategy guide was there yesterday, lol. Silly Amazon.

Rockstar didn't create the game at all, I thought. It's Team Bondi from Australia, and Rockstar is just ... producing it? Is that the right term in the video game world? With Rockstar's name though, they get a lot more coverage.

I will give a full report after I play tonight. Super excited. Is it 5:00 yet?

I think Rockstar will have done it again with this new game. So far all the reviews are coming back really high on the scale. From the creators that brought you Red Dead Redemption you play as a police officer that rises in the ranks as you help solve cases and interigate witnesses and suspects. I saw the first 15 minutes and found it to be very similar to GTA but with a great in depth story. I will be picking up my copy on Friday. Has anyone gotten this yet?
