Yeah, I wish it was like Rock Band, where you can carry over all the old songs from the first game. That would be awesome.

If you haven't already done so, be sure to download the FREE song: Katy Perry's Firework. Some of the paid downloadable songs are good too, like the Barbie Girl one. lol

I am having a lot of fun with this one! I did it all seven days last week (intense program), and am going to try to do the same this week. Wish me luck!

I really like some of the new songs (current favorites are I Want You Back and Wake Me Up Before You Go Go), though I do miss some of the songs from the original Just Dance. "A Little Less Conversation" and "DARE" were my favorites there.

OK, Turtle Mom and all the rest...anyone pick this up yet? I'm having a blast with it. I downloaded the free song, Katy Perry's Firework. Love the song and dance. I actually like it better than the real video for it. (real video would be great if it wasn't for the creepy fireworks coming out of their chests).

I'm kicking butt on a lot of the songs now. I've just been playing and playing and playing. However, I'm not doing so hot on "When I grow up" and "Tik Tok". I like those songs, but for some reason, I can't get a few of those moves down to get a 5 star rating.

Anyone have any favorites?

Yeah, dancing on the pad with bare feet is a bit sticky. lol I go for socks, but I can see where that would be slick too. You also have to account for space and convenience. JD wins out. They say the new DDR will have real dance moves with the arms and feet; we'll have to see.

I did pick up JD2. So far I really like it. More menu options, etc. They took a couple of things away (as far as I can tell), such as: no hitting random song in Just Sweat Mode, no stats on the main page.

But, they added a lot more in. The Just Sweat Mode is kind of neat because it keeps you focused on how much you are working. It gives you a target and you shoot for it. I like the new scoring system. You may get lower scores than the first game, but at least it is fair. The dances all seem to be faster. Even the slowest song is faster than JD1's slowest. Yes, I'm talking to you Mash Potato. lol

One thing I was kind of let down about was there is no calorie counter. Again, as far as I can see. I posted on JD2's facebook page and I'll try to let you all know if I get a response. Even an online calorie converter that will tell us how many calories each sweat point is worth.

Oh, speaking of sweat points...keep moving, even if you aren't prompted to move in the game. I noticed the sweat meter still counts as you move.

I don't like dancing on the pad personally. I tried it with barefeet, and my feet stick, with socks I feel like I'm going to slide. I don't like the crinkly sound either, lol!

I don't do the feet quite as much on Just Dance, because what really counts in the arms - but when the dance is something that I catch on to quickly, then I can add the feet next time around. I didn't like Gold's Gym but I didn't give it much of a try either. I thouht it was hard and didn't like that they were all latin dances, I wanted more variety!

So - I like JD the best, but it's a matter of personal choic

Between Just Dance & DDR w/ the pad, there is a bit of difference. If you are comparing the original Just Dance, I personally choose DDR. Mostly because there is a lot more to the menu system and it acually has a workout mode. However, after I get Just Dance 2 tonight, I'll have to come back and update my opinion. Just Dance 2 has the new sweat mode, which I'm excited for.

If you are looking for convenience and actual dancing, then Just Dance is it. All you need is the wiimote.

Just Dance 2 is also going to have downloadable songs (for a fee). So if you start to get bored, you'll be able to get more music in the future.

DDR (hottest party 3) had three ways to play. You can use just the pad and move up, down, left, right. Sometimes combining arrows will cause you to have to jump. You can also add in the wiimote and chuck. It also supports the wii board, but doesn't feel as solid an experience.

Overall, I find DDR moves my feet more and Just Dance moves my arms more. If what they are saying is true of Just Dance 2, it will be more sensitive to whole body movements, which will give you a higher score if you move those feet.

That's about all I got in a nutshell. Both great games though. I'll come back here and let you all know my feelings of JD2 when I get it.

The only dance one I have is Gold Gym Dance- which I absolutely love now that I am actually learning the moves.

I want to add a actual dance one and was hoping to get advice on Just Dance verses Dance revolution that uses the pad. I want to be able to get a good workout from it. If anyone has both of these your input would be appreciated.

Ok some more stuff:

Just Sweat mode - doesn't tell you the calories. However, you pick a level either 1,3 or 6 songs a day. I picked Advanced or Intense, whatever it was called - 6 songs a day and 2000 sweat points a day. I did 6 songs, and earned my 2000 sweat points. I had to pick higher sweat point (intensity) songs to make it. Doesn't tell you calories, and I don't know what the sweat points would equal, calorie wise.

When you dance on Just Dance mode you get a score for accuracy, 5 stars is the highest, then you get bonus points for Gold Moves throughout the game - if you get the move right, you get the Gold. Then they calculate your On Fire (I think?) and give you more points based on how active you were. My 4 year old gets 0% On Fire (maybe it's consecutive correct moves?) I got 15% or something. That increases your score more. I think the overall scores are lower than Just Dance one - my highest scores are mostly 4500 although one was in the 8000 range.

Duets - I picked a duet but you only dance one part. I was confused because the moves now come from the opposite side you are used to! I thought it was my partner, but realized I was supposed to be doing them. I didn't really like the duet because so many of the actions were aimed at a partner who is supposed to be next to you, yet you have to turn to try and see the screen. I think it would be fun at a party, just not a great one for an individual workout!

Kid Friendly - I think these songs might be more suggestive! There is Tik Tok, and it still sings about drinking and all that but it bleeps out "boys wanna touch my *junk*" The song Satisfaction that my 4 yo likes says "Push me, and then touch me til I reach my satisfaction." Good thing he doesn't know what that means! ;)

Favorite songs so far - only tried about 8-10 songs: Hey Ya (Great workout and fun!) and Move Your Feet (Easy and good workout.)

Thanks for the heads up about the song selection thing. I had another friend say the same thing; they must not have realized that Just Dance is a mode either.

The "Just Sweat" mode is what I'm really craving. I dance alone most of the time and this would be perfect for me.

All the other stuff sounds like just the thing this game needed. Thanks for breaking it down.

Glad to see you have a workout room now. That is awesome!

I only played around with it for about 20 minutes. At first I couldn't figure it out! The main page says "Just Dance" "Team Battle" "Just Sweat" or something like that... The sweat one isn't for more than one person, so then I went to team so my son and I could play. It doesn't let you pick the song! It's a random shuffle. I was getting frustrated, until I went back to the main page and realized that "Just Dance" was a selection, not just the title of the game ;)

We did Monster Mash... and a few other I can't remember! (One was the robot guy, the other was a guy with a robot on his shirt -my son picked those!) I think it looks more difficult to follow, my son who loves the first one was having a difficult time but on one of the songs he just jumped in and was doing fine. A couple cool things. The left hand (mirror image of your right hand) of the character is red, so you know it's the Wii remote hand. Also you get to name your player and save your high scores, finally! I also noticed there is two-player dances, where you partner dance - each person does something different. Looks fun!

Lots of fun modes - non-stop shuffle for a party, medleys, duets, team and individual battle etc. Hopefully after our busy weekend, the whole family can give it a try. I just cleaned out my guest room so it's solely an exercise room, there is much more room now.

It showed up on my door this evening! I told my hubby last week that I was going to go ahead and get it, and he said "But you already pre-ordered it!" I totally forgot. emoticon I am letting my dinner settle and do a few things around the house, then we are going to go up and give it a try (My 4 year old son and I that is, everyone else left for the evening!)

Truth be told, I sold the original. I had a lot of fun with the dances, but was frustrated that there was no calorie count and the menu system was basic...to say the least. You could pick a song, dance to it, and pick another song. There was nothing dynamic about it.

Compared with DDR, I like to see my estimated calories burned, how well I have done on that song on previous attempts, and possibly string together a play list. At least SOMETHING.

That is why my hopes are high for this one. Because it says it has a few modes, including a sweat mode.

As for ground noise, I know what you mean. I wouldn't say it has too much of that, just because of the nature of it requires wiimote tracking versus foot tracking. So you'll see a lot of wiggling of your waist and shaking of you hands versus the constant foot movement that DDR, etc. would give you.

Either way, my hopes are to pick it up Thursday and come back to give a review before week's end. Fingers crossed.

Did you enjoy the original? I have Just Dance but haven't played it too much - though don't know if that's a result of the game itself, or if it's just fallen into the category of games I don't play because I live on the second floor and don't want to bother my neighbors.

I remember having a bit of trouble with trying to figure out what I was doing wrong and how to better my scores. Is this new one supposed to be better for a single player?

Last year on Nov 9, I was waiting in line at 11 p.m. waiting for CoD4 to come out. A year or two before that, it was Halo 3. What game am I excited for this year? Just Dance 2!! lol

OK, maybe there are a few others that I am pretty stoked to see come out, but this one looks great. Does anyone have it on preorder? What about those planning on getting it this week? Please come back here and let us know your thoughts.
