It was funny the other day because my brother in law has rock band. They were playing it and I had lent my brother in law my guitar hero guitar and my son kept saying my turn. Well my brother in law tried to be sneeky and give him the mic not plugged in and then went on to point at my guitar hero guitar. So they hand it to him unplugged and hes like nooo its and shows him that its not plugged in. LOL. funny

tell them to not mess with it...and if they leave them out for the little ones to get to, they lose privileges.

We're probably going to put the stuff in the basement at some point...as long as Hubby doesn't bump his head jumping on DDR. (it's about a 7 ft. ceiling, but as long as he's not under the lights, he should be okay.) Oh, and then the yoga "tree" is out.

LOL, you may have to lock the key up too! Someone should have warned me that toddlers have wings. At first, I was content with just pushing furniture around to block the untouchables. That lasted until I found my daughter jumping on top of the table that was supposed to be blocked. Too funny.

But yeah, I have all my stuff on top of my cabinet too. Guitar Hero guitar, etc. That was all well and good until the neighbor girl came over and got the stuff down! I'm not sure what I'll have to do when the tots get her age.

And that's why we put our systems on top...as well as the sound system, sub, and front speakers...also have a computer router up there and a switch for the video/audio from the different game systems. My computer is now on top of my "Hoosier cabinet" which I'm using as my desk, as well as the printer. It's crowded...but it's also safe.

LOL....YES, I'm not the only one...with my entertainment system, everything is on top except the TV...it weighs a ton, so it's not moving anywhere. (32 inch wide screen, not flat TV). All three doors on the thing now have latches and locks on them (key is kept on top of system). The two shelves on bottom are used for toys (actually 3 shelves, since the TV has a custom added shelf for lifting it up higher (do to the fact that we had to get a center that housed a 36" to fit the width of the TV)...great for playing games that you stand up with)

As for child-proofing, I just got those hinged latches that have a slot in one piece that goes over a loop on the other piece and then got a set of 4 locks (so all 3 have the same key) to put on them.

Seriously. The only draw back to my set up now is that I have to open it all up to play. I once tried to play with the doors shut, went to go put another game in, and almost melted with all the heat that poured out.

OMG. OMG. I think I would blow a fuse if I saw that. My son came to me with my mario galaxy disk and told me someone at the party had gotten it and scratched. " It's scratched" he told me and I was mad. Lucky for me since I have connection at the game store i bought it at they gave me a another copy.

Speaking of, you should see my set-up; it's like Fort Knox. I had to get a new entertainment center with doors that could be child-proofed. Nothing like walking into the room and seeing your kids with your games & movies out of the cases and strewn about the room.

I know what you mean. luck for me my tv entertainment center lets me side my ddr pad and wii fit board nicely underneath the first shelf. Woo hoo. So everything is in its place. Just need a shelf to put all my other stuff in.

plus the idea of having to replace a mat because it's worn out or broke and it isn't the same as all the other mats.

Not to mention the future games coming out utilizing the balance board, like Prizefighter.

I wish they would have used the DDR mat and not made a new one. Then it would be an almost no brainer. Peripherals are fun, but eventually your living space can only hold so many.

This is a big if for me. I think it does combine both but I think if you really want a work out then wii fit and ddr will be the better choice. more mini games if you ask me.

You are right. I read a review that said you don't even have an option of plugging in a second mat. Hopefully they will fix this before the game releases. I know I would feel sorry whoever played next to me.

I've seen the trailer on youtube (http://youtube.com/watch?v=UTfbOwJRHgg). One thing that strikes me is that the multiplayer games (of which there seem to be a lot) are played on the same mat. Every image of the game I've seen has shown either children or people at ideal weights playing. mat might be a bit squishy for two larger people to play.

It is funny what sites are blocked are various companies. My last job wouldn't let us get onto our personal e-mail (like yahoo or gmail), but would let us cruise around my space, etc.

Here is a link to the game on amazon. There are also some videos on youtube. I think they are making a marketing mistake with the kid on the box though:

For me the turn-off to cheerleading is the happy, bubbly stuff. I think that is what this cheerleading game will be all about.

As for the Outdoor Challenge game, did you see how it included the Mii's? I think that is great the Nintendo is allowing third parties to use the Miis.

boys can be cheerleaders too...and I heard that it's a good way to get college scholarships as well...although in my high school district area, it was assumed if you were a boy and a cheerleader, you were gay (partly cuz the only one was...there was a guy at my school that started to be, but quite because of it...turns out he came out in college)...but the problem with that was that it was a small town that was more traditional in it's views, so people would be made fun of that from the other students.

Nope, don't mind. Looks like a good one to add to the fit collection.

On a side note, did anyone see the Wii Cheerleading game? After I got over my gag reflex, I think it might have some calorie burn potential. Not that I would touch it with a ten-foot pole, but still interesting.

Has anyone seen previews for the game "Active Life: Outdoor Challenge"? It comes with a mat, similar to DDR, but with a few tweaks. Check out the preview link below.
