Hopefully this will be a two person effort on the Wii. I'll volunteer to throw and I'll have my spouse or buddies do the sweeping. Judging by how fast they go in real life, it looks like a real sweat producer.

However, I was thinking of something yesterday...why not just perfect your throwing skills. All that sweeping to speed up or slow down the ball(?) seems like a lot of effort.

If I get the game, I'll probably stick to volleyball, badminton, kart racing, and basketball.

Curling is kind of like Shuffleboard on ice.

One of your team members throws the stone (basically slides it on the ice), while the others sweep in front of it. The area that is swept is smoother, so the stone will travel further along it. Basically the sweepers try to guide the stone so that it ends up in the right place.

I think the idea is to get your stone closest to a spot in the ice. But, the other team can come along and try to knock your stone away.

I don't know how the scoring works, but it's probably pretty simple. As Ryan said, you would have to be drinking to come up with this game. :-)

I think throwing would be pretty similar to bowling, but I bet they make you do the sweeping too, and that will probably be a workout.

Looks good but not being able to use my Mii is a real downer. That is where I think the Wii SPorts kicks butt on. I know that Nintendo has something in development for a Wii Sports 2. They just have to have some plan up their sleeve for not letting a third party have acess to their mii's.

You know LizLady, I was just looking at some videos on youtube and this may have the potential (dare I say it) to be better than Wii Sports. I don't know though. I still play Wii Tennis to this day. But, you are right, setting and spiking sounds really fun. We'll see.

Now I know what Curling is but I still do not know the rules to it. I remember seeing in Disney's movie the Wild. I do not think this game should be considered a Wii Sports 2. Because it is not made by nintendo but by a 3rd party. I watched the official trailer at Youtube.

Yes! This game is made specifically for the Wii. Hudson Soft has a long history with Nintendo so I'm hoping for the best.

Sorry, I can't really explain curling. I should look up the history, but it probably started out as a drinking game one cold day in Northern Canada. Try doing a search on youtube. It is better seen than explained.

As for game video here are some links...

First of all what is curling. Second. Does anyone have a link to a video of this game. I would really like to see a review or screenshots of it.

I this something that I can use on my Wii or does it use a different system. I am the queen of Wii bowling, I should be able to curl, non?

lol The first time I saw curling was on the Olympics a few years back. Had no idea it was a sport.

And yes, this is where they can't use the Miis. Seems like Nintendo should have let them. But, Hudson Soft said the characters can be made in the same manner. Volleyball sounds the most interesting to me so far.

Isn't that the one where Nintendo wouldn't let them use the Miis?

It looked pretty good to me. And, you can't beat an afternoon of curling...right?

So, Hudson Soft is coming out with a new game called Deca Sports that features: Curling, Badminton, Basketball, Soccer, Archery, Figure Skating, Beach Volleyball, Super Cross, Snowboard Cross and Kart Racing.

What do you all think? Will it be as good as Wii Sports?
