YiaYia - The wii fitness coach is great! There is alot of repeating, and on the half hour she gives you a small break for water at the half way point. You get to pick what you want to work on for that day also between yoga, cardio, I forgot what else right now. But I highly recommend it.

I agree Bonnie, the Wii is a little slow moving between activities, but for someone like myself, it works because I'm so inactive. It has really motivated me to move more, and it's fun.

You have really done great. Your blogs are very motivational. I like the idea of logging your "plan for the day"! thanks for sharing. emc.

Elaine, I want the fitness coach too. That's what DH thought he was getting when he got me the Jillian. The JM wii gives me more of a workout, you don't have to pause to switch from one exercise to another, it just switches from running to kayaking, to tire jumps to logs, etc. I like that. The Wii had me pausing too much to switch or restart an exercise. But now that I know to use the + and then the retry it doesn't do the scoring or the piggy bank. you have to catch it before the game starts to show the score at the end. With Jillian you really have to work the remotes to get going. Now if only I can figure out how to get my wii to duck on that one exercise, she gets knocked over alot :)

Bonnie, I've heard a lot of pros and cons on that Jillian Workout. I'm thinking of getting "My Fitness Coach" but I keep re-thinking that idea since I can barely work in a WiiFit workout. All the gadgets in the world won't work if I won't -- read my signature line "you gotta wanna".

I did my Jillian Wii today and it made me sweat :) But when I was done, I was checking the tips and my Wii locked up hard. I had to unplug it to get it to reset, I pressed every button on the machine and the remotes - nothing. First time that's happened, AND the Jillian Wii lost all my info for the day. It said I had not exercised today. Grrrrr. U know, some of the moves to make that one work are beyond me. I tried to follow the instruction and the animated person is just not reacting to my motions. Maybe my remote needs new batteries?

Well, anyhow, the Jillian is starting to grow on me some. At first I didn't really like it, but now I'm starting to. My upper arms are sore right now from the monkey bars and the kayaking parts I did.

Well I did the skiing and I did the penguins. I'm still lousy at both. I did get better as I repeated them, over and over again. I'm planning to keep trying until I master them. Fortunately, not too many have played those on my Wii so my ranks weren't too bad.

I'm not good at penguins either, but skiing, I rock at skiing, sometimes. Other times I miss half the flags. It getting easier.

Dh and I did the baseball, tennis, and bowling last night. He beat me on the baseball and bowling, but I got him on the tennis. I'm practicing for when DD comes home, she kicks my butt every time we play tennis.

Cool beans on getting back on the Wii. I've got to see whats on the sched today. Have fun!

Alright, I am being a lazy bum today! I am watching TiVo and reading my emails instead of Wii. Maybe I'll get inspired to do it.

Ever since I got off track last weekend, I can't get back on. I am so frustrated! I made cookies and macaroni and cheese today since I had company today and I didn't resist either. I did get up and do my scheduled workout today, at least.

I did 30 minutes on WiiFit today. First time since last Tuesday. I didn't realize how much I missed it!

I forgot to do it last night, I fixed dinner, my daughter came over, my husband wanted to watch TV with me (rare) and I was so tired, I went to bed before 10:00 for the 2nd night in a row. I'll try to make up for it tonight and do the run, the bubble and maybe the soccer.

I did the running last night. First the short 2x then it unlocked the long so I did that, then it unlocked the island lap so I did that too. That one was long. I have to work on my stride because landing on the balls of my feet causes my foot to hurt. I have an idea of what might work. It sure made my HR stay up. Good one Elaine.

Then I worked on beating DD's advanced soccer score. OH My did I bust her record. I now have a 600 Hehehehe.

I think you're right Jim, I'm calling it the wrong thing.

The party has a ball balance thing (that's as far as I got with it). 4 people have to see who can stay balanced on their ball the longest.

Oh good, now I can track my Wii Fit better. Thanks for the info.

I picked up the wii balance board cover at the Game Stop, they had hot pink, lime green and teal.

We have not had a chance to use the Party yet, DD and BF have been monopolizing my Wii :)

Went to the Game Block today and picked up the Wii Party with the extra remote and a balance board protective cover in lime green. Can you tell from my page that I like lime green :)

Today was a rest day for me and I was not getting a good calorie burn so, I decided to spend some time on the Wii. I watched a couple of TiVo'd shows while I did Free Step. I spent 50 minutes doing the step. Then I played tennis since I missed it yesterday and beat my high score on that target practice one. I got 15. Kyle came in then and we had to take turns, he picked batting practice and I got 3 home runs, my record before was 1. Then I got on here and saw that Bonnie posted her WiiFit age so, I got back on to do that and then did the Hula Hoop. Boy, am I tired. I burned 193 calories and I didn't start recording until after I did the first 28 minutes of the step.

I think I earned the right to chill out and watch some TV and reply to some posts tonight.

Very cool idea to incorporate the Wii on SP. I did 15 min of Yoga and 10 min of the the strength training yesterday. I will do my best to get the kids away long enough for me to do tennis. Are we trying to do a certain a amount of minutes each day?

Jim - I'm gonna look for that Mii on the treadmill!

I don't have cross country skiing so, I did Ski Slalom (saw that Jim did too, you beat me!). We also bowled tonight at Wed. Night Dinner and I got a 212!

I did 20 minutes of Yoga and 10 minutes of various others. I made Yoga Master on one of the poses. I'm sore today -- who would think you could be sore from Yoga!

I think Thursday is my day to pick - I suggest Tennis. Everyone should have it since it's in Wii Sport which came with the Wii.

From another web site about Wii:
"At the statistics screen (The screen after you choose your mii), there is the balance board character running on a treadmill in the background. Click him with your pointer and you will be asked if you would like to participate in the ultimate balance test."

My 15 year old just tried it and it was hard!

I got most of the yoga poses in, about 30 minutes or so and another 30 minutes of balance games and some aerobics.

I need to do my boot camp challenge now as I didn't run today for a day off after a long run.

Jim, I did yoga for 16 minutes, about 9 poses and got Yoga Master on 4 of them. One was Yoga Novice though.

I also did some balance games but, gave up because I got a phone call. I also tried the new Outdoor Challenge game that Yia Yia gave my son, but, I couldn't get it to work. It says hit "A" or "+" but, it didn't work. Kyle said there was a trick to it, but, I had already put it away so, I'll have to try another day.

Ok, my turn to pick. I choose 15 minutes yoga exercises, or whatever your level will allow. Alternate: tennis.

I suggest picking a few days ahead in case we don't get online and miss our turn to pick! Lynn and Yia Yia are next? Why not post Wednesday and Thursday now!

Tracy, I have no idea how that scoring works. My kids sit on the sofa and shake the remote too, but they end up with a very low score usually. I always keep it in my sweat pants pocket when I do the running.

Hey, how about a thread where the messages are just a list of all the games and anyone who wants to post their best score for each? Then when you reply you'd have to copy the entire previous message each time and update. Think that's silly? Or fun? We could make a sticky topic: High Scores!

played bowling (163), pool (33), level 10 on find the mii, ping pong (43), shooting range (? But got a high score), fishing (1250), wii fitness challenge 58 years old.

I guess Jen hasn't been around today. Jim - do you want to pick a game for tomorrow?

Bonnie - I tried the tightrope and my highest score was 26.33, so, I came close but, no cigar! I tried about 10 times and that was my best, my next best was 27.71.

I also played Baseball on WiiSports and Bubble Balance and Step on WiiFit. About an hour and burned almost 200 calories, not close to what I would do on a real workout, but, since most of it was balance games and not aerobic.

Tomorrow am is my tough cardio day. I have to get ready for bed so I'll be able to get up and do it.

Well, today on Wii fit I did two yogas, two strength training, and two balance exercises. Still not up to my highest scores, but getting there. If it tells you anything my Wii Fit age is usually around 42, but today it was 58. Still younger than I am, but disappointing that I have gotten away from the Wii for so long. Also did bowling, high score today was 198. It's really been fun!

Jim - 195%? How does that happen? I would love to know how the score is calculated.

Bonnie - I think I have like 31 on the tightrope. I think I better give it another shot and see if I can beat it. I'm going to try tonight along with whatever game Jen picks for us today.

My bowling was where you clear the lanes and it has the pins in different places. Anyhow, I cleared 13 lanes. Not sure what the score wound up being. I was on a lazy streak this weekend.

You guys will never beat my tightrope score. 25.75. Teehee, DD is trying to get there but it just aint happening :D

My bowling score was 153. Then we got the girls together and did some mini golf won the Summer Sports. That was fun. I got 28 with par being 30. Then we did our fitness ages, for some reason I just can't get the boxing down when I am in the training area, I ended up being 80 years old. emoticon

I didn't know we were doing daily! But that's great!

Saturday I did the Island lap run with my 6 yr old daughter on 2 player! Then I did a bunch of both Wii fit and sports, too many to list. I think my score was something strange like 195%. I didn't understand. My kids get in the 30% range.

I missed yesterday's bowling assignment but did about 45 minutes of a bunch more Wii fit last night after midnight! Now I'm tired after getting up at 5 to get everyone going.

Thanks, Bonnie for choosing Bowling. I tend to just use WiiFit, never get out WiiSports but, we had a ball tonight. Kyle beat me at bowling, then I beat Doug. Then Kyle and I played the bowling where the amount of pins increase, then we played tennis, golf and boxing. About an hour, we had fun!

I think my bowling scores were 153 and 196.

Yia Yia - I have the fitness coach and love it!! I highly recommend it.

The guys are watching the football game so after that I will get on the wii and do some bowling.

Well, I finally found time to reacquaint myself with my Wii today. I did not keep track of my score, but I did do the following:
Bowling (Wii Sport)
Bubble Balance
Hula Hoop
Ski Jump
Ski downhill (whatever it's called)
Snow Board (new to me, but fun)
Short Run
Soccer (I really don't like this one,
maybe that's because I just don't get it)
Strength Training (single leg extensions)

It was all fun. I wanted to review some of the options I had and hope to come up with a routine of some sort. I've been thinking about the Wii "My Fitness Coach". It sounds interesting. Anyone try that yet?

So, did anyone get their WiiRun in today? I did the long run but, forgot my score, so I went back and did it again. I got 47% on the first one and 49% on the second one. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I'm keeping a steady pace behind the Mii but, am I supposed to go faster and then the Mii will go faster?

I also did snowboarding, soccer, balance bubble, table tilt and the tightrope. Oh, and I think I said my table tilt score was 156 but, it's 140. I could not beat Kyle's score on the balance bubble though, he's got me beat my 5 seconds! That one drives me crazy because of those bees!

Lynn - sounds good.

Bonnie - what game do you want us to play tomorrow?

I think this is going to be good for me. Since I workout in the morning, I tend to sit around too much in the evening and this will get me moving. I don't like to stop until I get to at least 30 minutes.

Great idea Tracy!

No boxing for a few days, my arms/shoulders need time to recooperate! I'm a pro boxer!!! I beat Haley, KO'd her in the 2nd round last night, teeheee, I'm enjoying this Wii alot!

DD unlocked the rhythm boxing and I tried it last night. It was fun. We did snowboarding too and she had the penguins too. While she was doing her Wii activities I was doing my beloved elliptical. The time goes faster when I'm watching her play.

I'd better get my Wii minutes in before she gets home from work or I'll never get on it.

Tracy - That sounds great, but I still don't have the wii fit. :( Bryan still has been having problems finding one. I told him to wait till Valentines Day.

I was doing the baseball last night and pulled my shoulder. It is still sore and swollen.

I did 30 minutes tonight. I did Rhythm Boxing, Step, Hula Hooping, Running, Ski Jump and Slalom Skiing. Kyle has me beat in the Step but, I got the high score in some of them, I can't remember which ones now. He's so good at the step, he get's "perfects" on most of the steps and I can't seem to get them on the step downs, but, the steps on I get "perfect" for most of them. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong stepping down.

So, how about we take turns each picking a game for everyone to do and then we report our time and score when we finish? OK to go in alphabetical order on choosing? If so, I guess I will go first (ADKMOM), then Bonnie, Jim, Jen, Lynn and Yia Yia. Am I forgetting anyone? Don, if you want to be included and use your neice/nephew's Wii, you can jump in, too. Anyone else with a Wii?

So, if I get to choose 1st here it goes:

For Saturday 1/3 I want to challenge everyone to play "Run", basic or advanced. Just do what you can, then report the time you spent and your score.

I'm hoping this will be a nice competitive challenge, with the objective to get us moving and maybe try something that we wouldn't normally try. If you don't want to post scores, you don't have to, I just think it will be a nice way to challenge ourselves. What do you think?

I did the tight rope walking last night. My objective was to beat my 19 yo DD score. I did, I posted a 25.75. She'll have to work long and hard to beat that score!

Haley on the Wii Sport boxing is kicking my butt, she KO's me and I KO her so it's been back and forth. I need to figure out what KO's her consistently. Right now my score for that is low 800's.

Soccer: 344. If you consistently get the balls they become worth 10 pts each.

For the balls I have something like 103. I made it through the first level.

The Jillian Michael didn't impress me. Not much there that's not covered by the Wii fit. It's OK, but I like the Fit better.

well, thanks to my DGS, my Wii has been moved to a more user friendly location and I'm hoping to begin using it regularly again. The family played it on New Year's Day while we waited to for guests to arrive. I had forgotten how much fun it is. I only have Wii Sport and Wii Fit, but that should be enough to get me moving.
