Hello All,

This is looking like a team of one since I was last to post here over a week ago (and I have been checking).

In answer to my own Question:

Two part question. What is your program to lose the pounds? Are you working it or making excuses? (No need to provide a written response to the second part: answer this one honestly for yourself) If you want to post a response that is fine, too. Its all about support.

My program is working hard everyday. Currently, I am working the Sweatsuit to Swimsuit Bootcamp, continuing with C25K training, a self imposed challenge to complete Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred, and 8 Week Battle #4 which starts in one week. I am trying desperately to say within my calorie range and I seem to be falling below. I just cannot manage to keep up with logging into the
tracker. I am eating well with a few minor indiscretions. I never miss breakfast and its always a healthy choice. I have made a lot of positive changes. As of this morning I am down 29lbs since January 17, 2009. I think that I'm working it and not making excuses.

At this point, this may be the last post for Team K so this may be in vain but if anyone reads this I can found on my page. I wish you all much success and if I can support your efforts in any way let me know.

Keep It Movin'

Tanya

Hello All,

Happy Mother's Day!

Q: How do you visualize yourself six months form now?

A: That's easy enough;fit and trim.

Q: Two part question. What is your program to lose the pounds? Are you working it or making excuses? (No need to provide a written response to the second part: answer this one honestly for yourself) If you want to post a response that is fine, too. Its all about support.

Hello Team K!

Happy Cinco de Mayo! emoticon

I hope everyone is having a good week so far. I have really been slipping on my workouts -- bad weather, sickness (no, not swine flu!) but today, NO MORE EXCUSES. I will hit the gym at lunch for a 25 minute interval workout on the elliptical, which is usually good for upwards of 250 calories.

What do I do to relieve stress?

Hm, Suzanne, can I borrow your hot tub??? Seriously, though, that is a GOOD question, because I think I need to focus on developing some good, healthy go-to techniques that are more "curative" rather than "medicating" (i.e. as with food or drink). I guess I do try to do some seated stretching or relaxation exercises, but that's not always up to the job, you know?

Next question: Visualize yourself six months from today -- what do you see?

"Serenity now!!"

How has SP changed me? Besides the obvious of having every tool you need and for FREE I think it is the people. This team especially!!! You are here when we are doing good and here when we are not and encourage me/us to hang in there. I think it is easier for me to voice my weaknesses and admit my failures and achievements here.

What do you do to relieve stress?

Hubby fixed the hot tub this week so I will now be using this again. Venting also helps me as you guys can tell by some of my messages. LOL And even though I don't like to admit it...exercise.

Hello Team!!! I have been missing in action again nursing another tooth ache.... same tooth...another infection. Went to the endo something dentist and was told they can't save my tooth as it is cracked in a way there will not be enough tooth for a crown. Not in a good spot for a bridge so they are recommending an implant. Of course my insurance doesn't cove an implant and they run around $4000...urgh. But it is one of my "smile teeth" so what do you do?

Due to the pain I haven't eaten too much but have not eaten anything good for me either. Feeling better today due them draining the infection and getting on antibiotics.

Going to attempt a trip to the Miami Zoo so I will get in several hours of walking today or Sunday!!!!

Hey everyone!

Well, I finally did it, I went a week without losing -- in fact I gained .4 lbs! And without going into the reasons I suspect why this happened (you know what I mean, ladies), I am feeling pretty OK with the result, considering how the last 14 weeks have gone. Seeing all my success laid out behind me makes this little hiccup seem most insignificant! So back to the routine I go, and looking for a better result next week!

Hope it's a good one for everyone!

Oops. Forgot the other 2 questions.

Pressure to eat - not too much. More at social events & the pressure to have a glass of wine or martinis with the girls.

How has SP changed me? So many ways -- watching & tracking my diet, learned tools to motivate myself to develop consistent exercise plans, support from people experiencing similar things, so many ways.

Thanks everyone!

Hmm. Body part I'd most want to change is easy -- my abdomen. It used to just be the lower abdomen but I've noticed in my 40s some of the fat is clinging to the upper abdomen - permanent muffin top.

What I do to combat late night hunger? This is my biggest challenge. I drink water. Wait a while. Give myself a pep talk. wait a while. Eat a salad or bowl of soup. Depends on the night whether I stop at water or have to go all the way to the snack. I'm really trying to cut out late night eating because I think it affects my sleep.

It was great week turning 40 and completing my first 5K. I am signing up for another which is scheduled for June 20th. It really helps me to focus. Thank you ladies. I could not have may it without you.

I have a blog entry detailing my experience. The 5K was my exercise and I also did twenty minutes of yoga and today's QFC.

HC: banana/orange/1 cup of milk for breakfast.

The pressure to eat question. Fortunately my friends and family know and respect my no to foods. My husband does bring home these Chewy Lemonhead things that I love but I stretch them out over a couple days instead of eating the whole box. I even but them in my nutrition tracker. Trying to get better. Baby steps - right Suzanne

Next Question: how has SP changed you?

Have a great week and keep it movin'!

Suzanne, I have totally been there... mainly when I was younger, like preteen to teen years -- I turned to food for comfort in the midst of a lot of emotional turmoil at home. And it's such a painful and frustrating cycle to be in, feeling as if you can be so powerless over something. You're so right that BABY STEPS are all steps in the right direction! emoticon

As an adult have been to counseling for other issues (family stuff) and found it so, so helpful -- you know, in the end everything's connected in our minds, what we experience, and how we feel about it. What you can end up with is a sense of comfort and control over your life and your choices in general, while learning how to ride along with the inevitable crapola that happens to all of us NOT by our choice.

I also have a friend who's doing OA after years of trying other programs -- this is something that she's finding very helpful, it's the one that finally "clicked" with her and her food issues.

Do you experience pressure from others to eat certain foods or amounts of foods that aren't in line with your weight loss goals, and how do you deal with it? I call myself a bulimic without the purging. I know stress is one of my triggers and probably need to see a shrink to deal with this problem eating habit. The hubby is always bringing home snacks. Its hard to explain but I almost get the shakes when I see the snacks and have to work hard not to eat them. Normally I get almost obsessive and them eat the whole thing...like a whole cake. I have improved where now I will get a piece and eat it very slowly, take 30 minutes to eat a small piece. I am becoming more and more successful with this as time goes by. I also try to reach for the water and binge on it instead of the unhealthy foods. I have improved over the last few months but wish I could just STOP!!! I have come to realize it is an addiction that I probably need more professional help with......

I didn't eat the healthiest this weekend but did manage to stay within my portions and not binge. Had egg whites for breakfast with cheese, two slices of pizza for lunch and two slices for dinner with two chicken wings. I passed on the cheesecake and was really proud of myself!!We drove to the other coast to pick up my daughters dog and on the way back stopped at a park and walked the entire park. Had a slim fast this morning and we are getting read to go to the Turtle Fest so I will get lots of walking in today.

BABY STEPS...right?

Hi everyone, and happy birthday, Tanya! I've been crazy busy this week but staying on track. I hit my second goal with my WI on Friday, I've now lost 10% of my original body weight -- I'm delighted and, well, honestly SURPRISED. In three months' time I've made more progress than I thought I would when I started back in January. Must be time to hit a plateau!

** What body part do you want to change the most and what are you doing to make it happen.
My tummy, especially my lower abdomen. Since I hate sit-ups I am going to cruise SP for some stability ball and other kinds of workouts I can do to focus more on my core, without adding too many dreaded sit-ups to my routine.

** What do you do to help ease the mid day or late night hunger?
I eat my lunch in two batches -- a salad or cup of soup around 11:30, and a small sandwich around 2. Then an apple around 4, and I can make it home without starving to death. Later at night it's hard. It's as if my body gets all panicky and starts saying, "Hey, you didn't eat enough calories today! Wouldn't you like to just pack some on before the day is over?" Haha, tricky body. Sometimes if I have calories left, I have a Skinny Cow or a few Wasa crackers (7-grain Crisp and light are delicous, crunchy, and only 20 calories each!). But sometimes I just go to bed hungry! After all, tomorrow is another day...

New question:
Do you experience pressure from others to eat certain foods or amounts of foods that aren't in line with your weight loss goals, and how do you deal with it?

Midday hunger I usually have a planned snack. Late night hunger I usually try a small portion of peanut butter on 1 slice of whole wheat bread just enough to cover the bread and 8oz of 1% milk. Sometimes I will try hot tea but usually the peanut butter does the trick. (and then thoroughly wash my face and hands since my son has a peanut allergy).

HC: banana and 1% milk for snack
Exercise: Plank QFC

No late night tonight gotta hit that 5K in the morning. WooHoo!!!

Can we say "the whole body!!!" LOL Right now I am working on my back to strengthen my lower back muscles. The doctor has given me leg lifts and also exercises where I lay on my back and bring my knee to my chest to stretch the lower back muscles. I do these every morning in bed before I get up and also before I go to sleep. I have felt it in my tummy too. I am working on my lower back so that I will one day be able to do actual exercising without having such lower back pain.

Slim fast again. For lunch a slice of pizza, not the best choice but I was so happy to eat only one slice and not the whole pizza!!!! I always forget but I do get my 160 oz of water everyday. For dinner I am having a piece of chicken breast cooked on the George Forum grill.

If you do not own one of these grills they are AWSOME!!! I cooked burgers on them last night. I buy the 5-10% ground meat. I always thought I was getting the lower fat meat....I was SO amazed at the amount of fat came out of my burger using this grill. And it cooks so quick! Trying the chicken on it tonight.

I always say I didn't do any exercise but forget about my morning and evening leg lifts. I did walk for about 10 minutes today and am getting ready to go wash the car as soon as it gets a little cooler outside.

emoticon Dee!

The worse time to control hunger is the late evening. It would not be a problem if I just went to sleep at a reasonable hour.

Question: What body part do you want to change the most and what are you doing to make it happen.

- For me it is my thunder arms; I do wall pushs, bicep curls and another tricep exercise at least three days a week until muscle is just to the point of fatique but not over

Dee - When I first started I listed my self as sedentary and as I increased my activity level I went back to the start page and had the system re-calculate my calorie range. I am not exactly where it is but it is somewhere in settings.

Activity - Nothing yet but I am going to run/jog my race route when I get home from work and finish QFC

HC - 1oz Blueberries, 1 medium/small banana, 1 cup of Kashi Go Lean Crunch, 1 cup of 1% milk, and my favorite 10oz DD coffee with cream and sugar (120 calories or is it 140 IDK I just love it should do a commerical)
Lunch - 3oz grilled chicken breast, 85g baby carrots, 2 TBSP bacon ranch dressing (not calorie reduced; usually only use half), tossed salad with 2 tbsp low fat Italian dressing, a pear or a large orange - I haven't eaten all this but this is what I bought for lunch and snack plan or plan to fail
Dinner - 4 oz lean beef hamburger (93/7), 1/2 cup mashed potatos (120 calories), 1/4 cup of Campbell's beef gravy (25 calories), 1/2 cup steamed mixed veggies (I think its 30 calories)

Seems like a lot of food but sometimes I am still under calorie - I am trying to get it right.

Have a great day.

Hey all!

You put your weigh in on your start page under tools. There is a link with weigh in and other measurements. Hope you find it okay.

I did class yesterday, missed my walk at lunch... shame on me. But when I bought my family fast food for dinner I made myself Tilapia and southwest veggies. (They won't eat my fish dishes!) It was very, very good and I have another serving for lunch today, which is helpful.

When you go higher with calories burned then predicted and it says you may need to adjust your calories, how do you know what a healthy range is?

Only when we quit trying have we truly failed.

Where do you weigh in at in Sparkpeople?

I don't weigh in anywhere right now since I still have not replaced my scale that died...LOL
**************

What time of day is the worst for you as far as controlling hunger?
**************

Today I had:
my normal slimfast for breakfast
A turkey sub with only mustard and NO Mayo.
Dinner I will be trying a George Formun grill that someone just gave us. Going to have a burger with no bun and a small salad.
Walked up 4 flights of stairs today twice instead of taking the elevator. WooHoo

Hey Team K,

Glad you are having a good week Dee. I am enjoying it so far. Had a good jog this morning; went for 40 minutes consecutively. Guess I am as ready as I am ever gonna be.

Healthy Choice:

Switched up on my breakfast today. I had one scrambled egg, 2 slices of honey maple turkey, 1 slice of American Cheese, and I toasted Arnold Sandwich Thin (100% Whole Wheat)Volia a breakfast sandwich

Lunch was WW Bistro Chicken Carbonara and 1/2 cup of steamed mixed vegetables. I put the meal on a 9 inch plate and mixed in the veggies (picked up that tip from the bikini diet). Oh yeah, I take a multivitamin everyday that's healthy, right!

I have a dreaded question to ask. I weigh in here for the last one out challenge and on the 8 week battle. Dee weighs in on her challenge team. So where is everyone else weighing in?

Go Team K!

My week seems to be going well. Eating is pretty close to where it's suppose to be and the scales are not chastising me YET! Want to be down for my weigh in on Friday so I will work hard the rest of the week. Good luck with your 5K Tanya. I'm thinking of starting the couch to 5K program, maybe next week. Want to be able to run outside and Wyoming's weather is pretty fickle this time of year. We have a 3K coming up in June so I am thinking about getting ready. Never dreamed I would think about it!
Best wishes to all!

Hello Team,

Congratulations on keeping it movin' Suzanne and Dee!

I had a Fabulously Forty kind of day. Yup turned just turned 40! Can't weight to add the next "F".
FABULOUSLY FIT & FORTY!! its comin'

I ate well today. Traded out my %1 milk for Vanilla Actvia Yogurt mixed in with Crunchy Go Lean and 1oz of fresh blueberries. Lunch was a HC Cafe Steamer Cajun Style Chicken and Shrimp. Dinner was grilled chicken, 1/2 cup baked beans (not the best choice but not over), 1 tbsp cucumber sauce and 1 cup baby carrots. Not one slice of cake (of course I had a small slice on Sunday). Going to out to dinner this Saturday feeling like I deserve a slice then but can't over indulge gotta hit 5K Sunday morning - WooHoo (maybe I will have the cake after the race hmm...)

Oh yeah senior moment (not yet). Today I did QFC (130 Wall Push Ups), 50 standing crunches (can't think of the proper names but I hate floor crunches and these utilize the same muscle groups) Will do 50 more before bed.

Keep it Movin'

Tanya

This has been a good week so far! I have been doing good with food and have gotten in quite a bit of exercise. I exercise every morning and it has become habit but this week I have thrown in some afternoon time. One of my challenges has us doing squats and crunches, managed a 100 of each yesterday and I felt them. It feels like I can make this happen, even though it has been a slow road.

Only when we quit trying have we truly failed.

Congratulations Melody!!!! emoticon And yes, we have missed you!!

My food choice is getting very boring as I seem to have the same food everyday...LOL

Slim Fast for breakfast, Apple for snack, yogurt and granola bar for lunch,(I crumble the granola bar into the yogurt), for dinner since I was alone I had a lean cosine frozen dinner. I squeezed in 2-10 minute walks during break at work. I had a piece of "diet" cheesecake..tasted terrible so I didn't even finish it. Woo Hoo

Hello Team,

Welcome back Melody. Congratulations on your graduation! When we post now we are going to post at least one healthy food choice and one form of exercise we did for the day. Just a way to help keep everyone motivated, on track, moving, accountable, etc.

Today:

Healthy Food Choice Lunch

LC Chicken Alfredo, 1/2 cup carrots with 1 TBSP of ranch dressing and an orange

Got rained out today so no C25K for me. I am going to do WATP very shortly.

Have A Great Week Ladies,

Tanya

I'm back! I've been finishing my final practicum for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. I've been keeping active but have been out of town with very limited internet access. I just got off of night shift and drove home (about 90 minutes!). Tomorrow, I'm looking forward to getting back into a more routine, scheduled type of fitness plan.

Thanks for noticing I was gone. Looking forward to catching up with everyone,

Melody

Good Morning Team,

Keep hanging in there Suzanne! I had a back injury a few years back and was in therapy for six months. The PT told me that those kinds of injury require you to keep those muscles firing to sustain healing. So getting in your daily exercise will help you to improve as well. Keep easying back into it and you will be back up to an hour plus before you know it!

So far this morning I have done 40 lunges as a part of my QFC. After I post here I am headed to the great outdoors for Yoga Fat Burn. I really enjoyed it yesterday!

Healthy Choice
My new morning favorite 1 cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch and 1 cup of milk. I will get in a piece of fruit
after yoga.

Still in Last One out Challenge. Down 2lbs to 186. I thought for sure I would be out this week weighed myself Monday thru Wednesday. I am not going to scale watch like that again, that is way more stress then I need!

Have a great Sunday!!!

Tanya

Hello Team !!!

Yesterday was a so, so day. I only got about 2 hours of sleep and felt hung over all day. (no, I didn't drink. LOL)My hubby left on his trip at 3am so I have been down in the dumps. My stomach wasn't feeling the greatest so I had a piece of cheese for breakfast. For lunch I had a turkey sandwich with only a very small amount of mayo and xtra mustard. I am trying hard to do away with the mayo all together as I usually like to pile it on. The bread was whole wheat and thin sliced. I did have about 8 chips as a treat. I wasn't hungry for dinner but forced myself to have 3 wheat crackers with a little peanut butter so I would have something on my tummy.

I didn't get back on the exercise bike as my back is still very painful but did take some Tylenol and clean house. I got up early this morning and had some special K berries with no milk. Not a big fan of milk. Took more tylenol and managed 20 minutes on the Wii.

I am really trying hard to keep my chin up. When I was out of work I started on the Wii for only about 10 minutes and worked my way up to an hour a day. Being a person that was always into sports and very active, this back trouble really depressed me and I try not to push myself too much so I am then unable to do anything.

I AM HANGING IN !!!!! GO TEAM!!!!

Hi Team K,

What a beautiful day we had today. My son and I went outdoors and completed 30 minutes of yoga. He loved it! Later on I took him to the track. Apparently, his energy his not as endless as I thought. He was actually tired of jogging! I broke my previous jog record of 23 consecutive minutes and did 28 consecutive minutes.

Healthy Choice

For lunch I had a WW Smart Ones Meatloaf with Garlic Mashed Potatos and I added 1 cup of broccoli and I also had an apple. Oh yeah, my beverage of choice is always at least one 8oz glass of water.

Later Chicas,

Tanya

P.S. Let's not forget to list a healthy food choice and what type of exercise we did for the day each at least one per day. It keeps us accountable. I ended up not doing Jillian Michaels yesterday but I did do Denise Austins Fat Burning Yoga and I was actually dripping sweat. I really enjoyed it. It was a 50 minute DVD but I only did the fat burn and the abs.

Hey Team K,

emoticon Suzanne that is definitely the right attitude. In the morning, before work that's another plus for you.

emoticon Terri on that 2 miles; chocolate has gotten the best of me a time or two (can you tell; probably one of the reasons I'm here at SP emoticon )

Today I had a WW breakfast sandwich, one cup of 1%milk and 1oz of blue berries (gotta love those antioxidants), one glass of water and 10oz of Dunkin Donuts coffee with cream and sugar. I used to use sugar substitutes to cut the calories but now I just account for them. Learned from Dr. Oz that the sugar substitutes trick our bodies into believing that we are receiving calories and it in turn helps us to retain weight. I don't need that so I am embracing regular old sugar cane in moderation of course. I am working my way up to raw sugar.

This evening I will do Jillian Michael's 30 day shred and strength training.

Have a Great Weekend!

Hi Everyone!

Yesterday was a pretty good day... sorta! I did drink all my water and I did go for a 2 mile walk. I did not stay within my Weight Watcher (WW) point range though. My monthly friend came to visit and chocolate became my other best friend! I'll keep trying!

It sounds like everyone is working hard!

Have a fantastic FRIDAY!

Good Morning Team!!!

Just had my slimfast and getting ready for work. Managed 6 minutes on the exercise bike before the pain in my back was unbearable. I'm not giving up though...I just need to work up to 10 minutes. LOL But I keep telling myself that something is better than nothing and every little bit counts.
Not sure what is for dinner tonight but have my low fat yogurt and apple and granola bar for today.

Have a great day TEAM!!! ITs FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!

Hey Team K,

I am glad to hear everyone is working at keepin' it movin'.

Nice suggestions Suzanne. I think that walking from one end of the mall to the other sounds like it could actually work. Give it a try Dee. Life happens Terri, just keep working at it. We have all had those days.

I did get in my cardio on Wednesday (45 minutes of WATP)

Thank goodness the sun showed up today. I was able to get out and train. I threw away the script on the interval training today. I started out as usual but when I was supposed to start walking on the second interval I was feeling good and I ended up jogging for 23 minutes consecutively. I did 40 minutes overall. I can't believe I did it. My pace was good and my breathing was working. My jog is kinda like a fast walk but I'll take it. I don't have a trainer so I am doing it on my own the best way I know how. Maybe I could have run faster or got my knees up higher but I'll take it and I will get to those things as I improve. Right now I am going to accept it as a break through.

Healthy food choice for today. I ate left over dinner for lunch (Pan Fried Pork Chops 265.8 calories for a 5 oz serving, .5 cup broccoli, .5 cup corn, and a medium apple). I ate a light dinner which was a spinach and artichoke quiche (230 caloires for 1/5 slice)

Hang in there with me Terri. When I am bad I put it behind me and move on. I used to say "I will start again Tomorrow or on Monday". Now I start over right then!!! I wish I could take a magic pill to stop my binging, but guess I just have to do it on my own...with TEAM K's help.
Be cautious with your sister. I know when my parents pressure me to loose weight and quit smoking...the more I eat and the more I smoke. Baby steps. If she doesn't want to do the exercise class maybe just tell her you need help shopping at the mall and then walk her from one end to the other several times. LOL

So far so good!! Getting ready to try at least 10 minutes on the exercise bike. My hubby fixed it yesterday. I am going to start out slow and try 10 minutes every day for 1 week and go from there. Hubby wants burgers tonight so I am going to have mine with no bun and no Mayo and a small salad.

Somedays it's just like I am starting over! The only good thing is exercise is like 2nd nature now and when I derail it stays. I ate nothing good yesterday since Hershey's kisses don't count. I did get my 45 minute aerobic class in and then tried to get 100 tricep dips in... I only managed 60, never realized how tough they were before. Today will be a better day... class in, walking at lunch and then I think I am taking my sister to water aerobics tonight (almost at gunpoint!) She does not want to do any kind of exercise.. she is almost 300 lbs, broke her leg 4-6 months ago and it's not healing well but I am insisting that she at least try. She has COPD, is a smoker and needs to do something. I made her promise to at least go twice. (Then, I'll probably just harp until I get her to commit a couple of more times. I'm older then she is but she is not healthy.)

Only when we quit trying have we truly failed.

Good morning everyone!

Yesterday I did well with my food intake. I stayed within my point range (Weight Watchers). I did not exercise at all. I had every intention of taking a walk, but it never happened. I have 2 goals for today: exercise, either the Wii Fit or a walk, and drink all my water!

I hope everyone has a great healthy day!

Ate well today and was below my calories.

Exercise...another story. No lunch today meant no walking. Does stress count as exercise?? LOL If so I burned a ton. Planned on walking when I got home and it was pouring rain. Wanted to play Wii but hubby had tv...so i just walked around the house for 15 minutes until I fell over the dog...I could have won some money on americas funniest home videos. I think I am ok but my arm hurts like ****. Hubby leaves this weekend for 5 days and I am excited about getting to get back with my Wii fit. I did at least an hour a day when I was unemployed.

Hey Team K,

Great job Suzanne and Dee.

Here is my breakdown for the day.

I am halfway through my QFC's for the day. I will get on my cardio this evening - NO EXCUSES!!

Healthy Choices

Breakfast
1 c. Kashi Go Lean Crunch
1 c. 1% milk
1 banana

Lunch
Stouffer Lean Cuisine Alfredo Pasta with Chicken & Broccoli
1.5 c. tossed salad
1 slice honey turkey lunchmeat (1oz Boarshead)
1 slice American Cheese (5/8 oz)
14 whole almonds
1 orange

H20
So far 6 cups (8oz)

I am trying to consume most of my calories during the day and not eat so late in the evening. I think that is key for me to get the scale moving more. A lot of times I am under calorie and that's not a good thing. Never thought I would be tired of eating. At least I am not running to the bathroom every five minutes anymore. I think my system is finally getting used to water.

I will post my cardio later. I want to be accountable to my self and Team K.

Keep It Movin'
Tanya

Kept within my calorie guidelines with 5 calories to spare yesterday... talk about cutting it close but that included the 4 Miller 64's that I had during pool leagues.

Exercise was good. 100 forward lunges for a challenge. 60 minutes of cardio, 1/2 hour Stepping with Cathe and 1/2 hour walk at lunch where I walked 2 miles!

I'm getting back to my pre-holiday weight and am hoping by Friday I will post a loss. Keeping my fingers crossed while I try to work my butt off to make it happen.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi Team K,

Let see for Tuesday

I had stir fried chicken breast with green peppers and onions (about 1 cup) served over 1 cup of steamed broccoli. I used canola oil spray and 1 tbsp of olive oil (a healthy fat)to stir fry. Seasoned with lite soy sauce and pepper. This was lunch.

Exercise today was strength training and QFC (100 single leg squats each keg). It has been raining for two days so I have not been able to get in C25K training (hope I don't lose too much ground the 5K is on the 26th). I was going to do WATP for 3 miles but didn't get to it (is that an excuse - sure sounds like one)

By the time you read this it will be Wednesday (hump day) halfway thru the week still time to make it count.

Let's challenge ourselves ladies. How are we going to cut our excuses today? A SP friend of mine has posted on her page - Being fat is hard work, exercising is hard work, being out of shape is hard work, eating healthy is hard work, you get the point. So ask yourself which one are you willing to work hard at?

Food for Thought:

- how about getting up earlier in the morning and getting in some exercise even if it only starts with 10 minutes a day that's 50 minutes at the week's end; gotta start somewhere (Coach Nicole has a 10 minute cardio video and Walmart carries a series of 10 minutes solutions DVDs with cardio, yoga, latin dance. etc.)

- how about a new plan? Reach for a glass of water or a hot beverage before we make that bad food choice. Is it truly hunger then reach for dense fiber solutions like nuts (i.e. walnuts, almonds, etc.). Make sure you portion them out 1 oz is about 140 calories a good soucre of antioxidants and healthy fat.

Losing weight is not comfortable; let's get outside our comfort zone.

Everyday is a challenge for me. Sometimes its a good day sometimes its not. If I can make the good days outweigh the bad I can change my life.

Have a great week Team K,
Tanya

I'm back!!!!!!!!!!I had been at my parents' house for the holiday. They are so needy that I find it hard to get on the computer to check in. They are also big sweet eaters and I have such a hard time resisting. Needless to say, I did not do well this weekend.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hello all and Happy Tuesday!
Monday I managed to get in my 100 crunches for a challenge I'm in on top of my normal exercise so that was a positive. The negative, my eating was whacked, within calories but dinner was 2 muffins and 3 beers... oh well, moving on!

Sorry Guys... made a last minute decision to go and visit my daughter and her hubby for the holiday weekend on the other coast. I won't even go into what I ate but I did get in about 3 miles of walking.

For Tuesday I have a slimfast planned for breakfast, Yogurt and apple for lunch, granola bar for snack. I plan on broiling some fish, veggies and a rice (just a little) I have my own diet and I call it the NO white diet and have started it again this week. I stay away from sweets and anything white (breads, pasta, potatoes) Kind of like a low carb diet but I eat all the veggies and fruits I want. We will see how it goes. I REALLY need to boost the exercise!!! With all the construction around me it takes me almost an hour in the morning to get to work and most of the time 1 1/2 hours to get home. I am so exhausted and stressed from the traffic it is hard to get dinner ready and chores done. LOL Just think how much exercise I could do in 2 and 1/2 hours...URGHHHHHH

Hi Team K,

Afraid today is a bust. I am still not feeling up to par so I have taken thewhole day off of exercise. I eat lunch/breakfast at noon. Leftovers from yesterday. Good portion sizes of baked chicken, kale, mashed potatoes and a little portion of sweet potatos. I could only eat half of that before I started to feel queezy. I wrapped it and had the rest for dinner. I feel a little better. Thought I would be able to get in QFC's but that is not likely. I am going to pack it in and get back on track tomorrow.

Thanks for checking in Dee. Hopefully our team mates will be back online before either of us post again. Feels a little lonely out here on Team K.

Take 2

I couldn't stand posting that I had done nothing today so I did do the QFC challenge for today which was 100 seated knee lifts. Atheletes push though the pain so why can't I. I am well enough to be online so.....

Hope everyone made it through the holiday. I got my strength exercises in yesterday and ate my healthy food and then some deviled eggs (oops!)
Sure felt the strength exercises when I went to my exercise class this morning, wow! Today's strength challenge is crunches. I have a set of 25 left to do. Healthy food choice will be leftovers of the healthy chicken and vegetables from dinner last nite and egg salad for lunch. It isn't very high in calories but does have quite a bit of sodium (from the dill pickles) and the cucumbers give it the extra vegetable boost. That's about it... check in later.

That sounds good. The food choice not the squats and push ups LOL. Post the recipe when you get a chance.

I will post my next later. I just got up and I have not eaten a thing or done anything. I had some kind of stomache bug last night (no I didn't over eat). Battled with it all day yesterday. Maybe it was the snickerdoodle ice cream I had on Saturday. I haven't had ice cream in months. Hope it was a coincidence and not a lesson. I certainly don't plan to take ice cream out of the diet. My plan is to be able to incorporate those types of things in my lifestyle change. I just want to make sure I do it in moderation and make sure I have regular exercise.

Ttyl,
Tanya

Me next, I guess.

Today I am doing some strength exercises for a challenge.
100 squats
100 pushups (these I'm alternating between girlie pushups on the knees and wall pushups)

Healthy food choices: Chicken breast with squash, brocolli and potatoes, in a low cal garlic marinade, roasted in the oven.

Happy Easter all!

Looks like I got next AGAIN,

Tossed salad with 2oz of chicken and 3 Tbsp light salad dressing for dinner

53 minutes of walk/jogging (C25K training) went longer and did the bleacher stairs (x6)at the track to counteract the 1.5 cups of snickerdoodle ice cream I had (Nope it wasn't lowfat, Nope it wasn't sugarfree, but it was ALL good) Hope I don't pay dearly on the scale

Gee, I wonder if I'll be next again hmmmm.....

Here is something. When we check in why don't we list at least one exercise and a healthy food choice we have made or plan to make for the day. I'll will start with today.

I did cardio - 35 minutes of C25K training and 75 QFC's (that is quickfire challenges - today was complete 4 to 5 sets of Grand Plie Jumps 12 to 15 per set throughout the day).

For lunch I had a piece of seared tilapia and a salad with 14 whole almonds, .13 cup of shredded cheese and 2 tbsp of Kraft Light Asiago Parmesean dressing and 2 glasses of water.

Happy Friday! Next...

I'm Jennifer, I'm 33, and live in the SF BAy Area. I'm very happily married, no kids for now, but do have my lovely aforementioned bunny. I work full-time and try to make time to work out -- SP is helping me stay accountable for the fitness aspect of my weight loss goals. I generally follow the Weight Watchers plan (via spreadsheet, not meetings) for my diet needs and really like it.

I've been pleased with my progress so far, and especially how much tracking my food has helped with my weight loss! I'm at around 1 pound per week so far. I could probably do more to lose faster, but what I'm doing I can live with, so I'm sticking to it!

It is wonderful to learn a little bit about everyone!!!

I went to the dentist today and am now in more pain then I was before. Took 2 Vicodine and am feeling very loopy but still in pain. They couldn't do the root canal because my root is doubled and twisted or something like that and I have to go and have surgery...urgh...its always something.

At least my eating has been slim to none...LOL

My name is Dee. I'm married for the second time, to a wonderful man happily for 14 years. I have 5 children (all mine) ranging from age 25 to age 11. 3 boys, 2 girls. We have 2 dogs, a fish and I just sold my 4 horses yesterday. It was a tough decision dictated by the economy. I cried. I work a full time job and a part time job and am very thankful that I found SparkPeople. And as the saying goes... "Next!"

Hi Everyone!

I'm Terri! I am 42 years old, single, have a dog, a cat, and a fish. (I've noticed that a lot of us here are animal lovers!) I live in a itty-bitty town (actually a village) in central Wisconsin. I grew up in Chicago, where my parents and siblings still live. I spend a lot of time there!

I am an emotional eater and struggle with that inner turmoil every day! My family also believes that "food is love" and it is very difficult to spend time with them and be changing my lifestyle at the same time.

I think that's it for now. Who's next?

Have a great day!

I'm Tanya. I'm 39. I have been married for almost 15 years and we have a wonderful 7 year old son and a spunky 1 year old miniature schnauzer named Jaz. We live in Maryland and life is good. I have my ups and downs like everyone else but the good outweighs the bad. I love SP and I am enjoying my journey toward a healthier lifestyle. Exercise has never been my thing but I believe I have etched out a place for it in my life. I am also appreciating that I can exercise portion control while I eat foods that I enjoy.

For those of you that don't know me my name is Suzanne and I am 42, happily married and the proud parent of a wonderful 22 year old daughter,a new son-in-law, 2 dogs and 3 cats. I just moved to South Florida's east coast and am really enjoying the very mild weather.

I love to travel (when I can afford it), ride motorcycles (just getting ready to learn how to ride my own...tired of riding on the back), go to the beach and the zoo (both only about a mile away!!! I also like to read and recently my daughter has gotten me addicted to Mafia Wars on myspace (don't laugh).

Back on schedule on Monday. Weekends are always a little tough for me but this one wasn't too bad. Got outdoors with hubby for a hike, even though we had to go in the snow. I was just happy I kept up and actually really enjoyed it. I felt like I was definitely evolving.

Hope your bunny gets better BONGOBURGER. We've had bunnies for 4H around our house but I've never dealt with a sick one.

I'll try to check in daily and I'm glad to see some of Team I making it over here.
Best wishes to all.

Glad to see so many people checkin in. I've actually had a horrible few days with a VERY scary bunny health emergency, including a couple of all-day stays at the vet's office and some very unpleasant at-home therapy. She is doing better for now but I'm very nervous as my husband and I will both be out of town later this week, and stress could cause her situation to worsen. Just trying to take the best care of her I can for now and hope she makes as speedy a recovery as possible before I have to leave.

In the meantime, I lost all of 0.1 pound last week. Why it's practically an insult, but mind you I'll take it! emoticon

Hello Team K and my former Team I members! Just wanted to stop by and say hello. I will try to get on her daily and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

It's Saturday, 6 am!! My cat just woke me up because he's hungry. I've fed him and the other two...now I'm going back to bed! There's something just not right about getting up BEFORE the sun...especially on the weekend!

Happy Saturday to you all!

Hey there Team K and welcome to all new team members. I hope everyone is ready to have a fabulously fit weekend. I am done with any formal type of exercise for today. I got in 40+ minutes during C25K training today. That's two days in a row (you're supposed to take a day off in between but I knew I would not be able to on Saturday). My body is very tired right now. I am looking forward to vegging in front of the tube and checking in on my favorite website (SP). I am going to snack on ACT II light buttered popcorn during our family movie night and maybe some baked Cheeze Its (all in my calorie range). Tomorrow I will get in some strength training cause I ain't doing it today - well maybe we'll see and I think yoga first thing in the morning (its peacful and counts toward my cardio). That's it for me. I probably will not check in tomorrow but I will definitely on Sunday. Let's have a make it count weekend!!!

emoticon Go Team K

Hey Terri, I know EXACTLY what you mean about having time. I have tried hard to work some type of exercise into everything I do. My hubby laughs because when I walk out to the laundry room I always take the LONG way and when cooking I do squats and stuff in front of the stove, and when taking something out of the fridge I do curls. Its not much, but every little thing helps.

Welcome Dee and other new members!!! Glad to have you on board. emoticon

Dee...looks like you are doing an awesome job on loosing weight!! You go girl!!!!

A little of whats going on with Team K...Terri and I challenged each other to see who will be the first to be under 200lbs and both of us are struggling. Tanya doesn't know it but she has been the team motivator lately. Melody is the team, I guess "book keeper" who helps us track our challenges. Everyone else on the Team are just the greatest team members you could ask for!!!!

GO TEAM K!!!!!!

Hello everyone. I am the former leader of what was Team I. Our team needs more motivation and participation and Suzanne graciously said that we could join you. I will stop by at least weekly if not daily. Love your personal challenges. Thanks for having us!

Hi Everyone!

It has been crazy around here. I just finished a 3 credit class. I am trying to finish a scrapbook for my nephew's birthday. Plus work, etc. You all know how it is!!!! But my weight has stayed the same. I haven't found the time to exercise. But I'm working on that. I just want to finish the scrapbook and then life will be a bowl of cherries!

Hope everyone else is doing great!

Terri

Hey Team K,

Suzanne that is too funny. I am proud of you for giving it a shot. Work your fitness program and you will see the rewards. I am glad you posted I was just about ready to leave the team. I have been downsizing my teams so I could focus better. I usually check in whenever I am on and the activity was so sporadic. I had prepared my goodbye thread and everything. So I will make sure I keep checking in.

I am sorry to say I really don't remember the personal challenge I'll have to go back through the thread.

I am having a good week and if I want a good day tomorrow I better get to bed.

Keep It Moving Team K!!!

How has everyone's week been?

My boss is off and I get to do payroll by myself in the morning...fun, fun!!

I think I am finally back down to my 210 as my clothes seem to be fitting like they were when I was at that point. I am buying a new scale this weekend!!!!

I tried some of the office exercises and had my back up against the wall and was squatting when one of the residents walked in...I don't think I ever turned so RED. LOL He just didn't understand. LOL Thats what I get for working at condo's that all run several million.

One of my perks was getting invited to "Jungle Jack Hanna's" shows. He's the guy who is on animal planet. Such a nice guy in person...amazing. One of the good residents...LOL

Hope everyone is well as the page has been quiet. Miss the chatting and compitition...lets get it going again!!!!!

Hey Suzanne, glad to see you checking in. I am also glad your kitty is doing better. It reminds me of a few years ago when I had a Rottweiler who had to where the cone. A little boy came by and asked "What channels does he get?" We laughed for hours (huge head, huge collar; we really miss that dog; lost him to cancer).

There is no good segway so.... no need to search for the link http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitnes

Hi Everyone !!!!!

Sorry to be MIA this week but the kitty has taken up much of my time. Her leg wound has finally stopped draining and seems to be healing well. She does not like wearing the lamp shade they put around her neck to keep her from licking/pulling on the stitches. It is just too funny watching her trying to walk with it on. LOL

I had a VERY busy week at work (and am still thankful that I am working!!!!) but still managed to eat well all week. My scale is on the fritz again and I just need to go and buy a new one. I lost the link for the desk exercises but am going to search them out again tonight.

Thanks Tanya for thinking of me!!!!!!

Hope everyone's weekend is going well. I am going to do some planting in the morning so I hope to get some fitness minutes. We have a yearly pass at the zoo that is only about 1/2 mile away and if it doesn't rain we are going to ride the bikes there and walk the zoo.

Talk to everyone soon!!!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend! It is beautiful here and I have been digging away in the garden -- yay fitness minutes! emoticon emoticon

Terri, emoticon with tracking your food this week, that is awesome! I'm following WW too for my diet, I find it so very sensible for my needs (as well as my occasionally lusty desires). I feel empowered to make good choices most of the time (choosing lower-fat, higher fiber foods for fewer points), with enough "escape hatches" built in with Flex Points that I don't feel as if I have to deprive myself 100% of the time. I can see why it's a program people can truly live with.

We're always here for each other when we need support, so remember that!

Hi Everyone,

Not a whole lot going on here. But I have to toot my own horn a little. I have doing a great job eating-wise this week! I have stayed on my eating program (Weight Watchers)and accounted for everything I have eaten. I haven't exercised this week, yet. But I am feeling good about what I have accomplished!

I want to thank each of you for the support you have sent my way throughout this journey. I know I'm going to need it the rest of the way, too!

HAVE A SUPER NIGHT!

Hey Team K!! Its hump day. I hope everyone is progressing well.

Anybody try the desk exercises? If so, I hope they went/are going well. I am not in the office that often (my job takes me on the road everyday) so I have not done them. My hope is that they could be helpful to someone.

I took Monday off exercise wise and almost copped out on Tuesday but I remembered that I am having a NO EXCUSES year and did 30 minutes of strength training before I went to bed. Today I was back on my weight loss job and got in strength and C25K training. It is so easy for me to fall off the wagon.

I keep pushing ahead with my goal in site... Best wishes and I hope to see less of you all (weight loss wise) next week.

OMG, Skye, what a situation to be in! You handled it very well, though, too bad about all the stress it caused you! That's life, though. Unpredictable at *best.*

My week is going well so far. Having SP to track my workouts is really keeping me on task.

Hope everyone has a great week, and keep up the good work, even with life's crazy curve balls!
