I use Bodyglide and vaseline without any trouble, however, a friend of mine swears that diaper ointment works perfectly for those really sensitive or high friction areas.

I have used deodorant instead of body glide and it worked extremely well.

I bought some bodyglide to use on my thighs because they were rubbing together when I ran, but it made them even sticker and it hurt worse than before - did I not but enough on? I expected it to be slippier, I guess...

Thanks for the suggestions!

So, sorry to be stupid, but do I put the body glide/vaseline on my skin or on my heart rate monitor? Or maybe it doesn't matter.

Vaseline (petroleum jelly) or Body Glide - either works well

Vaseline works well too, but I prefer Body Glide as it seems to hold up longer after sweat and doesn't seem to "gunk" up my HRM.

Peri,

I use Body Glide for that area underneathe my sports bra. I never had chaffing issues for over 6 years until last year and it seems like the humidity is a big factor, but as long as I use the Body Glide all is good.

I seem to have rubbed my skin raw where my heart rate monitor is, right under my rib cage in the front. Have any of you had this happen? it's only been since I've starting running more than 5 miles at a time. When the sweat gets on the skinless part it really hurts.

Do I need to just stop wearing a heart rate monitor? Are there any products I can use to address this? Is there a heart rate monitor that doesn't have a chest strap?

Thanks,

Peri
