Okay, so I remember running at school I was from Florida and I was at school in Missouri. YIKES!!!! I can with either a ski mask or a scarf around my nose and mouth. It gives you some moisture in your nose to breath.
I would say, try to get as acclimated as possible and go out there, run your race and pace - don't push yourself to hard. Dress for 20 degrees warmer than the start. If need be - go to goodwill and get clothes you are willing to get rid of so you can peel off during the run. I like an idea of someones, get tube socks you can cut out the foot area and use them as arm warmers.

A friend and I just signed up for our first 5k which is Nov 15th. Can anyone give me some insight? I have never even been to a race and don't know what to expect. Also, I live in Ohio (not from here) and it's cold and since I am from GA it's really cold to me. So question is how do you stay focus and get out and run in the cold? I have been trying, but it hurts to breath LOL
