My gym has finally re-opened, now that the students are back from break. I made it to an aerobics class yesterday and was very proud of myself.

Has winter break ended for most people? Should we start a new challenge? A smooth start of the semester everyone!

I'm still exercising less than normal; maybe that's to be expected in the dead of winter? But I did walk to work three days this week and did yoga for a few minutes yesterday.

Oh Yay! Somehow I missed this post until now.

Despite it being wildly cold in my neck of the woods, I walked to work four days this week (40 minutes each way). Brrr!

I got through 30 minutes of a Tae Bo workout tonight. That is a lot of work.

I'd like see some progress again and this bootcamp is a big shift in my routine.

Thanks so much for posting the challenges! I'm so sorry I've been AWOL. One of my big goals for this spring semester is to stop using school as an excuse not to visit SparkPeople - or work out. Getting moving over winter break was great. :D

I love having this puppy. He's really getting me outside!! Took a nice 40 min walk...well it was a nice walk, one of these days the dog may actually walk nicely!!

I'll have to try and do the 2nd week of the challenge. Tonight we pick up our new dog from the animal shelter so I should have no problem getting in some daily exercise!!

Hooray! The fall academic semester is over. Now what? It's great to get a break from the academic routine (teaching classes, going to classes, applying for jobs, planning for conferences), but not a great time to take a break from you healthy lifestyle activities. Celebration temptations lurk around every corner, and wouldn't it be easier to just take a break from everything?

So, to keep us active and accountable, I offer a physical activity challenge.

For this challenge, your goal will be to do something to move your body at least 3 days a week. This can be whatever activity you want it to be, from your regular workout routine to mall walking to a dancing at those holiday and new year celebrations. 3 days a week is the minimum, feel free to do more!

We'll start our challenge on Saturday, December 20, 2008 and complete it on Sunday, January 11, 2009.

Post in this thread when you've completed an activity. Certainly each of us can get in 9 activities during this time. No need to post that you will or won't be participating, just jump right in starting tomorrow!
