I'd like one of those water heaters that heats the water as it flows. I hear it saves a lot of energy.

Yes, you can!

That kohler Numi toilet is top of the line but it won't ever make it into my house. Remote controls in the bathroom aren't something I am willing to adopt emoticon However, I agree that ad is a bit goofy since it isn't in a bathroom. Or at least it doesn't appear to be.

I am interested in downsizing but since I share a space with DH, 89 square feet would never work for us. I know that some lofts/apartments in NYC are just as small or maybe double that size and I don't see it happening. But eventually we will downsize to about 2/3rds of our current home again or maybe a bit smaller. I don't think we could share less than 800 square feet simply because we need to be able to get away from each other and I need a normal kitchen emoticon Many of these smaller places do not offer a space to cook or store food. I read an article about a couple who shared 175 square feet in NYC but they ate out all the time. They had a microwave and a tiny mini fridge. That wouldn't work for us.

Check out this edible shoe polish that can also be a skin moisturizer and lip balm.

I LOVE the moss bathmat. I envision it with Corsican mint for the minty fresh side!
Plus it puts drip off water to use and sends O2 into the bathroom.

I also would install a tank-top sink (unless I went for an RV pint per flush loo), especially in small spaces.

Speaking of small spaces, how about a Tumbleweed house?

No way. I wear shower shoes to keep my feet away from green growing things on the floor of the bathroom.

While we're back in the washroom, how about the bizarre Kohler Nu Mi toilet. Not only is it $6,000 (with water saving features), check out the promotional pictures (on the home tab) apparently people who can afford it will be doing their business in their living room of their glass walled high rise.

Those straws are interesting but the fact that they are glass make me nervous. Not sure I would invest in those even though I do love using straws. I did find some compostable ones that I may invest in though. www.ecoproducts.com/food_services/co

I'd use it. I think it is a great idea. I understand it is standard in Japan where the toilet is usually in its own little room.

How about this one, sent to me by my dw BET212?

Well that oven certainly does the trick. It would be good to use down here during the many months when we don't want to heat up our kitchens.

Here's another item for the Bazaar: The Better Place electric battery pack system. It is just rolling out in Israel now. It allows for rapid replacement off leased battery packs at special stations. The replacement stations allow extended ranges for electric powered automobiles.

TruePeacenik, that is quite an intriguing idea. We're encouraged to plant trees to keep the sun off our homes so many roofs aren't suitable for panels.

I nominate the Blanco Salon Compost System for inclusion in the Bizarre Bazaar.

I was "touring" the virtual green home from the "BUILDER magazine 2011 Concept Home" and came across this ridiculously (IMHO) expensive composting product which retails for $595! It stores 1 1/2 gallons of vegetables in a bin that is flush with a counter top. The bin is removable and dishwasher safe. It is supposed to seal odors etc in.

I think that a plastic tupperware bin would do almost the same thing. An enterprising do it yourselfer could probably mount one in a counter if you just had to have that feature.

The Virtual Tour is interesting. To see it you just need to register. I'd give a trash email address and pretend you are in the industry if you aren't.

Well, that certainly is a strange one. But I can see it catching on.

Bamboo is great stuff. A few years ago we heard reports that the owner of a ranch in South coastal Texas (which was once part of the legendary King Ranch) had brought in experts from the Peoples Republic of China to try to figure out if a variety of construction quality bamboo could be grown there. But I haven't heard any more.

I agree on the faucet that it would need more exposure before taking off. I meant to look at Lowe's this week to see if they have them.

That faucet is just the sort of thing that might catch on but it would have to make it into a few fashion magazines or get used on a popular TV drama.

Here is the game:
Find an odd, unexpected, strange or intriguing green or greenwashed product, write what ever you want about it and add a link to it or another article about it.

Here is my start:
The Smart Faucet or Automatic Faucet. These devices replace your aerator and add a little rod. When you push the rod you get water, when you remove your hands the rod moves back and the water cuts off. It is supposed to save water but it does look a little strange.
