I do not know how out of the norm it is, but I have already eaten turttle, monkey, snake and aligator. In fact, here in Florida I have already seen canned aligator meat....

I don't know if it's that different, but I eat the carrot leaves... since I'm a child. I usually just sautee them with garlic and a bit of olive oil. Is a little bitter, but I love it.
