I garden, and for the last two years it's been mostly legumes because my soil stinks. I need the legumes, or rather the "Nitrobacter" living in their roots, to add nitrogen back into the soil.

I do raise some spinach, zucchini, tomatoes, and other odds and ends. Sometimes strange things pop up in my compost pile; we had cucumbers and cantaloupe last year, and pumpkins the year before.

So far zucchini in giant flower pots. Love the flowers.
This year I may add a cherry tomato plant too.

Well, its good to know I'm not alone with my non-green thumbs. But thanks for the concrete tip because that is where I will be planting this year. (fingers crossed)

The house we moved into last year has a front and back garden which is a real luxury for us. We really need to do a spring clean on the whole garden and we're thinking about growing some herbs and vegetables. We'll see how it goes, since we really don't have that much experience.

I do not have a garden since I live in an apt... but I do have a few plants in pots.

Green thumb? Definitely not! I usually say I have a black thumb. I touch, it dies! LOL But I do not give up and when I get the house I want I will have a garden.

I do a lot of container gardening...I live in a townhouse and only have one small bed outside my kitchen window...

I don't know what tips I can give you...try not to set your containers directly on a concrete or stone patio in the hottest part of the summer...if you can elevate the containers a little it'll keep them from getting too hot.

I'm going to try growing tomatoes in those hanging containers this year where your plant grows upside down...we'll see how that goes!!

Happy weekend all,

Do you garden or have a green thumb? What is your best plant or garden tip?

I do not have a green thumb. If its green, I'll manage to kill it sooner or later. But, I have better luck with outdoor plants and I'm hoping to do some container gardening this year. So, this is really a self serving question, I'm hoping to get some good information. emoticon
