I was definitely thinking in terms of weight loss and this particular journey. If I look at how far I have to go and keep telling myself that I am nowhere near the finish line I am going to get discouraged...BUT if I tell myself that I already AM a success, each and every day that I try to make these healthy habits stick, then before long, I won't be "faking", they ARE going to be in place and I am going to be where I want to be. On the days when I don't feel like trying, when I get up, get my breakfast, get on spark, plan my day, before long I'm no longer "faking" the mood, it takes hold. It's just like choosing to be happy -- you might be in an awful mood but if you determine to not let it get the best of you, and you choose to laugh and find the joy and blessings that surround you, then soon you are no longer faking the good mood, you will have one. As for living your life, you should never pretend you are something you aren't, or be envious of things that you are not willing to get out there and work for.

The faking I had in mind was health related gang, geez...... I first heard the phrase in AA meeting and I always wondered about its validity. So when I started to first try to lose weight the new behaviors were definately not my first nature, but after repeating them for a long time they have become ingrained habits so was I faking it til I made it? Don't know, it's not important, just something that crossed my mind.

You must be honest with yourself. I get the idea of dressing for the part and it will follow...but like two stated, live within your ability to pay.
Be proud of your accomplishments no matter what the big picture is.
It isn't faking it to be honestly proud of the small things you are accomplishing w/o over selling the accomplishment. So, now that you like to drink water every day....Whoot Now that you really don't let the night time senseless eating win...Whoot...so you are still carrying 100 plus pounds to lose...the above accomplishments are still worthy of your celebration..even is size 3x lol

I am going false. I am not sure how this applies to weight loss, but definitely in life, i say false. (Speaking as a former college professor) it really bothered me when students would want all that life had to offer, they would want to the clothes, the money, the car, but were unwilling to put in the work to make their grades. So make it first, rewards will follow.
