My DIL does all her shopping that one day....however, having worked at walmart for 23 years, and doing 23 Black Fridays, I refuse to get out in that kind of feverish activity. I just dont think it is worth that....

My mom and sister do BF but I haven't gone the last few years. The last time I went, I picked up some things to buy at Old Navy and then saw the length of the line (to the back of the store) and put it all back.
This year, I MAY do BF. We have a big item we want to purchase for the kids (one of those game box bundles) and if there is a great deal on one we might venture out.
Nope! I don't enjoy shopping regularly and I won't participate in that fiasco. I've been to too many third world countries where people don't have access to clean water and basic necessities. I think American consumerism can get way out of hand.

NO WAY!!! I am totally disgusted by how early these stores are starting the sales. At my house - Thanksgiving is still about family....Not things, so I will avoid Black Friday at all costs. I heard someone say recently that only in America will people battle others for a bauble the day after being thankful for what they have!!!

Baby Steps will get you to the same place as giant leaps as long as you are going in the right direction!!
I'm working that day...thankfully. I don't do black friday. I did it one year and watched fools rip the door off the walmart and run a pregant women over. I swore then and there this would not happen again and it hasn't. Nothing they have is worth getting run down for.
