Today I chose to work. I had the option to go home, finish errands and go to the gym but instead I picked up over time. My dojo is taking a trip to Japan next year, need to get some money saved up!

I may not be there yet but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

I got tired of starting over and working back to where I was, so I have stopped giving up!

Yesterday, after no crystal light, I was a bit more alert. My usual afternoon slump came but not nearly as bad as usual and I had more energy in the evening when I went to the gym. I am sticking to water again today and will do more breathing exercises while walking at lunch.

Today's choice is water. I am not drinking my usual crystal light, sticking to cold water instead. I've heard that drinking water instead of other beverages, including crystal light or other 'diet' drinks, will help energy, mood, concentration, skin, digestion...etc. My focus will be how this affects my concentration and energy.

In addition to the daily challenge and kata training, try to make at least one choice not related to training that will assist your martial arts journey and post it here.

Today while walking I practiced breathing. My daily walks are not necessarily martial but when training and especially when testing, I breath to hard and to fast. Today I worked on the breathing skills described in 'Zen in the Martial Arts' by Joe Hyams will mentally reviewing my last test. It's my goal to have much better control of my breathing when we test again in December.

I may not be there yet but I'm closer than I was yesterday.
