Well everyone, food was aweful at the dinner last night so it was really easy to eat only a few bites, harder was being around everyone sipping cocktails and wine but I promised myself that I would take the month off from drinking and I stuck to water last night.

So... St Patrick's day tomorrow... anyone going to splurge and have boiled dinner?

@Beth, I followed the program really closely and I lost less than a pound. I haven't done weight watchers in several years but I pretty much ate the foods that I wanted to eat and just stayed in points range but apparently that doesn't work well with my body anymore.

Fruit is now free and I took total advantage of it so I may have indulged too much in the carbs...who knows.

@Beth WOOHOO! Good deal!

Mine was only down .8 of a pound but as long as it's down I'll take it.

@ Janelle glad to hear your ankle is better. You'll be back to 100% in no time.

@ Karen - they are a version of the shirataki noodles, but with vegetable fiber instead of tofu. Some people have found them mushy, others have found them rubbery. But, I've found the texture quite fine when cooked as I directed in the previous post I made. Very much like rice noodles and I LOVE rice noodles. These suckers made me so happy. I can't wait to order more!

My ankle is feeling pretty good guys! I've walked both yesterday and today and just made sure to ice it in the evening. I'm not going to do Turbo until next week because I think the jumping is too much for it right now, but I'm very excited I only had to stay completely off it for a few days.

@Janelle, I have never tried those miracle noodles... are they similar to the tofu shirataki noodles? love the stats of them anyway.

Tonight I get to dress up all fancy like and go to a dinner honoring my husband's bosses as restauranteurs of the year. Blah...Hob-knobbing with Maine's restaurant big wigs, plus I have zero control over what we eat, wish me luck!!

Gina, I liked that article. I think I'm going to give this a try. I'll eat low at 1500 for 3 days then high at 1900 for 1 day. That's got to be better than eating high every day! Good greif, no wonder the tape measure wasn't kind to me this morning.

Janelle, I have got to find those noodles!

OK ladies, I needed to share this...
Last night I ate two big bowl of pasta noodle soup for a TOTAL of 230 calories.

I ordered miracle noodles and I love them! When I toss them in a soup, they come out like rice noodles.

So, locate your favourite Thai inspired soup, I used my green soup or the WW Smart Ones Thai Coconut Curry.
Then I ran the noodles under very cold water for at least a minute, and then tossed them in boiling water and brought them back up to a boil and boiled them for a minute.
Then I drained them and tossed them in the already hot soup and let them soak for a couple minutes...
Miracle noodles are 0carbs, 0cals. So, when you're hungry and you you've used a lot of cals up...eat this soup for just over 100cals for a 3C serving!!!

Happy Tuesday!!

Hi everyone - I just updated by progress in the challenge forum. Promise to do better from her on out. Janelle, I hope your ankle is getting better. Kathy - this is my last week on the Push phase - you will REALLY start to notice a difference in your strength during this circuit. I'm looking forward to doing Lean because I've heard this is where a lot of people start to really notice a difference in how they look.

I found an interesting article about calories and weight loss. My apologies for not keeping the link, but basically I have found that I can stay within calorie range for weight loss for about three days, then almost without fail when I wake up that fourth day I am HUNGRY all day. This article said that when we reduce calories, our bodies begin fighting with a slower metabolism and increase hunger after - you guessed it - three days. The article said that many bodybuilders will reduce calories for three days, then bump up to their maintenance level of calories for one day, then keep repeating that cycle. This "tricks" the body into never entering starvation mode.

I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

Take it easy on that anlke, Bella. I'm sure your itchin' to get movin' but just don't hurt yourself again.

We sure do have a lot in common here: running & Chalean workouts in the basement! HaHa!

Today I did my push ups (man I'm wanting to quit these - but I won't!) & Burn 2.

Hi ladies!

Sorry I wasn't around this weekend...it just seemed like too much work to hobble over to my computer desk.
I've been off my ankle for 3 days now and today I am going to try a small walk and see how that goes. I'd like to be back up to my normal routine by the end of the week, but the doc says to ease into it.

I didn't lose anything this week and may have even gained a lb from the cake, which I never got to work off because of the ankle and then the high calorie soda I didn't know I was drinking and then being sedentary for a few days. Booo!

This week I will just have to be strict and do what I can, and if all goes well I'll be back on track totally in a week, or less!

I really want to start running too, but there is just too much ice out there still. I tried to use my treadmill, but I can only run in such short bursts right now that it's too annoying to keep adjusting my speed all the time. I can't wait for the ice to be gone so I can start up...I've always wanted to be a runner.

I hope everyone's weekend went great!!!! I'll check in with you later!!

@Karen, I admire you runners. I tried it and actually started liking it alot but because of worn cartilage on my right knee I couldn't continue. I can manage other programs but it was something about running that my knee just couldn't adjust to.

I have decided to only do CLX because my body is really starting to feel worn out. If I get a wild hair or have an abundance of energy I can always add another workout in but to try to do TurboFire and CLX full throttle turned out to be too much...go figure!

I'm in week 4 of the Burn Phase so I did my last Burn Circuit One workout this morning. I noticed I didn't get as winded and didn't burn as many calories as when I first starting Burn Phase which I guess means it's time for heavier weights. Looking forward to Push Phase. I really want a set of adjustable weights but just can't justify $300 to $400 for that. I have sets of 8, 10, and 15lb dumbbells now so I guess I'll go buy a set of 12s and 20s and keep it moving for now.

My eating was really good this weekend. My first Weight Watchers online weigh-in is Wednesday and I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

Let's make this a good week.

Kathy

wow, we have so many runners in our group!!

@Janelle, I ran with my son yesterday and he was just aweful! You can tell he's a soccer player because it was a lot of running real fast and then stopping. I will work with him.

Back to the basement for some Turbo Fire this morning but I'm hoping to get another couple of miles in this afternoon.

I got out for a run again, too!! I took a small run (3 miles) and worked on speed. It was a challenge. I made it though, and beat my times, so happy with that. I am VERY achy now though.

I just got a new app on my phone and it really helps me when running... you can play "tag" on it... anyone else have an iphone or itouch? I am not sure how it works, but if you do and you have (or want to get) this app... let me know... it could be a little fun!!! It is called Nike + GPS.

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Make it a great Monday!!! emoticon Janelle

Janelle, My daughter likes to run, too. She's gone with me a few times but doesn't like to go as far. There is a girl in our neighborhood that she goes with for 1.5-2 miles. Then, Friday, she had a friend over - for the purpose of being able to run together. I NEVER did that when I was young.

@beth hope you have a great day today!

@Amy hope you had fun with your running group.

I got 5 miles in yesterday. It felt great! Then we went out to get the girls new sneakers. My oldest wants to start running too... So I took her for 1.5 miles. I was exhausted by bedtime!! She definitely can run faster than I thought she could! She wants to do some racing too! So cute!!! My youngest wants to as well, but she didn't want to keep going... Someday we all will be running races together! Fun!!! :)

Hope you all have a great day!!! Happy Spring Ahead Day ;)

@ Amy... I'm itching to start running again but there is still too much snow... and puddles... and dirt on the roads. I'm afraid I'd slip and fall. Thinking if it's nice out today I may walk my route to see how long I have to wait.

Good afternoon Bunnies. Checking in today which is rare for me on a Saturday. I usually have so much going on the weekends that I don't touch my computer but here I am. The weather is great here in the midwest so off I go to enjoy the sunshine.

Hi everyone - back and recommitting after a crazy few days. I actually like being in the "Bunnies," - that was the name of my daughter's last daycare class before she graduated to kindergarten! For those of you with loved ones in areas affected by this earthquake, please know that you all are in my thoughts. I worked out this morning (actually I think I have every day this week except Tuesday) but was too busy to post. I promise to make the time. Tracking calories is more of a challenge, but I'll stick with it.

@Janelle I too have family in Hawaii and they have no cell service. I am just worried sick!

It's Friday, woo hoo!!! Worked out 6 days this week and I'm taking tomorrow off. Have mixed feelings about this but my body is ready for it. Tonight my daughter's circus performance arts group (the Woodside One Wheelers) are doing their community show and I'm very excited for her. She rides on a "giraffe" unicycle which is a 5 foot tall unicycle... pretty cool!

Oh Janelle, I'm sorry to hear about your date being cancelled but the alternative plans sound like you had fun. I hate when they give you the wrong stuff when you order drinks because you have no way of telling. Take care of that ankle and don't fret too much over the calories from the soda. If you try to do too much too soon, you will make it worse so take a few days off and relax.

I'll say a prayer for friend.

Kathy

My date was sick so I told him to stay away!! I went to a local music festival instead and it was great. Although, I had been asking for diet cokes all night and found out later she had been giving me regular cokes. I drank almost 800 cals in soda last night without even knowing it! :( I was upset.

Then to make matters worse, on the way home I twisted my ankle. I can barely move on it, let alone workout. I'm supposed to keep off of it for days, possibly even longer! So I can't workout, I can't even work off the soda!

AND, my bff lives in Hawaii and I can't reach her because the tsunami warnings have forced her to higher ground and there is no cell service. Having to search frantically for news if Hawaii was affected was not how I wanted to wake up.

I'm not a happy camper right now.

@ Beth- I am just Beth too.

I live just north of Madison, WI. I've lived here my whole life so you'd think I'd be used to this weather by now!

Last night I was hoping to get Burn Circuit 1 and some cardio in after my girls went to bed but I fell asleep in my oldest daughter's bed when she was reading to me. So tonight I really need to get my butt in gear and get a workout in.

TGIF!

Beth

@Amy, I'll whine with you. I WANNA go to Florida too!

Just when I though Spring was right around the corner, yesterday we got dumped with 5 inches of snow up in our neck of the woods.

Have fun in Florida @Beth (such a cool name)! emoticon

@ Janelle Hope you have a great time!! An all day date sounds like an adventure! emoticon

I am slowly getting back on track... eating has been super, but the exhaustion from *other things* has kept me from working out. I did however use my iphone to take a pic of myself (never did that before)... I am soooooooooooooo unhappy with the visual! I deleted it but it is NOT gone from memory! Maybe I am in a fog about things... but I "thought' I looked slightly better. I am comfortably in a 6, and I thought... "Hey, maybe not too bad"... but looking at the pics... I was like crap. emoticon

So it doesn't matter what "size' you wear, when you get into a bathing suit... I don't want to see that!!! BLECH!!! emoticon

I can be really hard on myself, I know... but this is the place to vent, right?? I did do the push up challenge last night... pretty fun and also the sit up challenge... I am most excited to see the improvements in my stomach, as I said in another message.

Oh well, rain is coming down hard today and work is almost over!! WOOT!! AND hubby comes home tonight from Az.!!! YAY!!!

Things are looking up! Hope you all are having a good day! emoticon
