So I read that the challenge has been moved over to another chat board and we have been combined with 2 other teams. I checked out the template that they want us to use and I kind of like it because it gives us credit for how much exercise we do. Are you guys gonna go over there? I also like the mini challenge thing too!

SKYEBREAZ we should start like posting calories and fitness minutes...also a mini challenge...like tomorrow we could do 4 sets of 20 lunges and each day we could change the mini challenge

@KIRANICSMOM-I'm with you, posting in 2 different places it's too much, we can track the same calories and minutes and maybe have mini challenges between us like an extra exercise let's say 20 push ups one day and change for the next day...stuff like that

I am great with that! I don't want anyone to fall off track because it isn't an "official" challenge and I think that we can continue to offer support to each other. Let me know if you have any ideas if you want to change up what we track...if we want to count minutes of activity as well as food tracking and staying on calories or what you think.

I would love to not have to track it on two different chat threads though. It would be nice if we could post and keep track on the same thread. Whatcha think?

I liked the accountability too. I really felt that it pushed me to track, because I didn't want to let everyone else down. I don't really have time to manage a challenge but I'd like to continue being accountable to one another.

@PSAGI77--Looks like IZZYBEBOP can't head it up anymore. She has lots of stuff going on and can't keep up.

If we press on, we can come up with some kind of template on our own to post to or we could just post points here in this tread so we wouldn't have to go to both. I am game for whatever works for everyone else. I think there might only be 4 of us left anyway from the original 10 or 11.

@IMAOFSEVEN--Go ahead and CASE (means Copy And Steal Everything) that mantra if it helps you! I often find that I have to look back on how far I have come and not concentrate so much on how far I have to go otherwise I get down on myself. If weighing in is bothering you then don't do it for awhile. Some poeple even go a month without weighing.

@KIRANICSMOM- Good luck with your cleanse. I like that- REFOCUS and RECOMMIT! I think that's going to be my mantra for the next two weeks. I'd like to pull myself together before Passover which is a week long eater's dream and dieter's nightmare.

@PSAG- Thanks!! I'm trying...

I actually had two pretty good eating days. My scale however, says otherwise. I really should take a break from weighing in!

Sorry guys...I have been MIA a few days. I took about three days away from the computer to focus on family and some of my college friends who came to visit with me.

Okay so I can admit that I haven't done very well for the past couple of weeks. I got most of my points but know that I wasn't totally committed to eating the right kind of calories and putting full effort into my workouts. So...It is time to REFOCUS and RECOMMIT!!!

I have a little over 6 weeks left until my cruise. I really want to buckle down and see what changes I can actually acheive in these 6 weeks. I am going to keep my Zumba class 2 days per week and shake things up with Turbo Fire!!! I think that if I lose some more fat then I can get refocused on CLX after the cruise.

Also just wanted to let everyone know that for the next three days I won't be getting my points for staying in my calorie range. I will be low on my calories. I am doing my Shakeology 3 day cleanse and the calories will end up being about 1000 calories and not 1200. I know that you aren't suppose to drop calories below 1200 for very long but this is a very nutrient dense cleanse and fairly high in protein. This has really helped jump start my fitness in the past and I think I need that little extra push!

Hope everyone has a great week!

@IMAOFSEVEN--I agree don't give up and don't let those set backs get you down! I can honestly say that I believe giving into cravings once in awhile is a good thing...just have a couple of cookies instead of a "bazillion"! Keep smiling! :)

Today was an awful eating day. I ate about one cookie for every bicep curl I did on Thursday in burn intervals (that would be a bazillion). Tomorrow I start again.

@PSAG177- Thanks for the tip. We can't get those in Israel, but I am going to have to find some healthy substitute for chocolate and cookies or give up trying to lose weight!

@IMAOFSEVEN- i loveeee sweets...they are my downfall...but you know what it's helping me...the weight watchers mini bars snack...they are low calorie and they sweet and very good...i love the lemon mousse pie one...awesome....i'm not in weight watchers i just take my mother-in-law to the meetings but one day they gave me one to taste and they are good...now i eat my sweets with not that much of a worry..

@kiranicsmom - The only positive thing I can say about a plateau is that if the scale isn't budging then you're at least not gaining weight. I too agree that you should try to change things up a bit. Just don't give up!

@Psag177- Chalene live! That would have been amazing. I am always worried that the music would be dangerously loud though (I'm an audiologist and am always worried about the noise level everywhere). I'm glad that you pushed yourself even though it's tough at work.

I really needed to push myself. I am really trying to be good about cardio too, but I too am not seeing the scale budge at all!. I'm having a hard time sticking to a nutrition plan. I stay within my calorie range, but have been eating far, far from clean or even healthy food. Any advice for someone with a really sweet tooth?

@KIRANICSMOM.....i agree. change it up a bit and add some cardio to it. cardio always seems to work best for me.

made a big accomplishment today. my hubby and i ate dinner at cracker barrel and i didn't have biscuits or mac and cheese (my favorite). it was tough, but i'm glad i stuck to grilled chicken and green beans emoticon

OMG girls....lean phase is a killer!!!!!!! and i thought that push phase was hard...completely wrong....

@KIRANICSMOM- maybe that's what you need...to alternate a little bit and add more cardio to your routine....that works for me...it doesn't mean you quitting on the program...just take a break before the next phase and do more cardio....hope this helps

Help ladies!!! I can feel myself falling into my feel sorry for myself because I am stuck at a plateau abyss. I guess it is okay because I know that it is happening so that should be half of the battle.

I really want to finish CLX but have been hit and miss with my weight lifting for the past couple of weeks. I think having the weather getting nice is really tempting me to give up on the 3 days a week weight lifting and transition more to running. I have only 52 days till my cruise and would really like to drop another 8 to 13lbs. I think that only lots of cardio is the best way to get there. I love the strength that I have gained with CLX and I can't say that I am bored with it...I just want different results right now. I am also going to be disappointed in myself if I quit the program because I really do want to finish it some time! emoticon

Feel free to tell me what you think.

@PSAGI77 and @SKYEBREAZ--You go girls...marathon huh! I can honestly say that I have promised myself that I am NEVER going to do a full marathon! 1/2 marathon I can committ to but not a full. It was funny last year when I walked the 1/2 marathon in Kansas City because at the end we got to cheer for the marathoners who were passing us walkers! I respect and highly admire people who can do 26.2 miles...I just don't think it is for me.

@SKYEBREAZ- I also can run a mile yet...but i will start training...maybe next year's marathon......i'm glad that you feel good with your new workout...i have to tried Jillian's workouts she was a badass at the biggest losser...I love her too....i don't think that show will be the same without them

@PSAG177 - I am on week two of Lean and loving it!! I have LC2 tomorrow.

Today I did Burn Intervals. I was able to do almost all of the Sumo Burpies. I find that my heart rate goes really high with those, and I don't think that I should do them all. I'm in the market for a not too expensive heart rate monitor. Anyone have any suggestions?

@KIRANICSMOM- That's great about the running. Good luck!

I logged all my food today (even the chocolate and the cookies and chocolate milk). I stayed within range, which is good but I really wish that I could eat cleaner and leaner.

@PSAGI77--The C25K program is a running program designed to get non runners (Couch potatoes) ready to run a 5K in 9 weeks. I did the program last year and it is awesome. I honestly hadn't run for 21 years. After following the program, I completed five 5Ks and walked a 1/2 marathon. I have added the link to an overview of the program. I think it is the only way I could have ever become a runner again at the age of 39. This year I am going to start training about week 3 or 4 of the program to get back into shape. My goal this year is to be able to complete a 5K in under 30 minutes (I don't care if it is 29:59) My best time last year was 31:37 and I plan to do this race again this year. If you have an ipod touch or droid phone there are apps out there that have the program all layed out for you. Mine for my touch is "Get Running" Hope this helps explain it!

Push 1 for me tonight! That is actually my favorite circuit in this month. I had my Zumba class last night. I am going to have to miss it tomorrow to be a good wife and go out with some work associates with my hubby.

@PSAGI77--Lean...awesome...I have never made it that far in the program so I don't even know what to expect. Let us know how it goes.

@IMAOFSEVEN--If you need support or help, all you have to do is ask...doesn't even have to be about food/exercise if you need to vent just do it!

@SKYEBREAZ--I can understand the whole switching it up thing too. My problem is that I usually want to do more than I can fit into my schedule. I want to finish CLX and do TurboFire plus start doing my training for my 5Ks and the 1/2 marathon. I guess I am going to have to start getting up earlier if I want to do more than one workout a day...Ugggh! I hate getting up early!

sorry i've been MIA for a couple of days. this past weekend was busy with a wedding and going to the irish/italian parade. went pretty haywire with the diet emoticon but i am totally back on track now.

i'm moving on from CLX. i've gotten bored with it. i feel like i have to force myself to do it and that takes all the fun out of working out. ssooo....i'm working on c25k to the best of my ability (not too great lately) and i just started jillian michaels new dvd ripped in 30. over the past year of doing various exercises (jillian's shred, p90x, and CLX) i have had the best results with jillian. so i'm back with her and she totally kicked my butt....love it!!!

@IMAFSEVEN--Good to see you back! Glad to hear you like the CLX strength. I have TurboFire but haven't started using it yet. I am sure we will love it too...most people do! Tracking will help with the weight loss, I always do best when I track my food! Thanks for the Birthday wishes! emoticon

Thanks everyone for being patient with me. It's not a good way to win a challenge, but a great way to support a friend.

I gained two pounds last week. I'm going to try to be really good about tracking now. I LOVE the CLX strength training, but must start doing more cardio. I'm thinking of ordering Turbo Fire to push myself more cardiowise.

@kiranicsmom - Happy Belated Birthday.

I had an awesome weekend with my family. It was absolutely gorgeous weather here in Illinois. My hubby cooked a delicious meal last night...elk steaks with steamed veggies in white wine and balsalmic vinegar with whole wheat pasta. It actually is super healthy. Tonight to finish off my b-day weekend we had pizza tonight but still stayed on calories. Back to reality tomorrow, including exercise and food tracking.

@PSAGI77--It is so great that you are such a positive influence on your mom in law! That has to help keep you accountable to yourself too. Even better than just telling people your goals if you actually have someone looking up to you!

Today was supposed to be my rest day but my mother-in-law wanted me to go with her to the gym after her weight watchers meeting...and me being me went and did some cardio and weight with her....Now i feel so exhausted like when Chalene says muscle failure...well i feel like they fail big time....but at the end i felt good because she is finally losing weight and she is so happy about it...she feels like i'm setting the example for her because i used to weight the same as she is right now 5 years ago 250 lbs and now i'm 165 lb so she sees that it's really possible to do it.

How was your weekend everyone?

@PSAGI77--Congrats on finishing Push and on the body changes! I haven't used fat calipers. (Bought my CLX second hand.) That sounds like an AWESOME change to me! emoticon

My hubby is doing the 100 push up challenge and just finished week 3. He did 130 in 9 minutes yesterday. I am thinking about starting this myself but will have to do it on Monday, Wednesday and Friday so it is opposite my CLX lifting days. Chalene says if you do push ups you'll love them eventually. That is what I am banking on. emoticon

I just finished my push phase with Burn it off and recharge...i really kick my butt with this workout today but i'm really glad...i took my measurements this morning and i lost 1/2 inch on my waist and 1/2 inch on my hips...and measure my body fat with the caliper and went from 20mm to 12 mm i love it....also check the spring/summer clothes that i had from last year and everything that was very tight it fits perfectly.

@KIRANICSMOM- I'm glad that you had a great birthday
@SKYEBREAZ - hope you feel better and that recipe sounds yummy...i'll try it tomorrow at home

@SKYEBREAZ--Hope your feeling better. Recipe sounds good, I'm just not a big fan of eggs.

I got 4 days of hour plus cardio each day this week. I played off CLX this week cause my left elbow wad bothering me. It is better though so I am gonna lift Sun, Tues and Thurs this week. I also need to bump up the cardio for some extra fat burn for the next 2 months to get in the best shape for the cruise.

My b-day was awesome yesterday! I has ahi-tuna rolled in chai thai seasonings with coconut last night. It was super yummy, hubby said he thunks he can make it at home.

So my 40th birthday started out a little hairy...as in a huge hairy emoticon in my sink! If there is one thing I am scared of it is spiders...luckily my 9 year old is fearless and killed it for me. I received flowers at work from my hubby and daughter and presents from my besties at work and flowers from 2 other co-workers that was very unexpected! My husband and I are going out to eat to a nice seafood place tonight and I plan to have a couple of glasses of vino so don't be suprised if I am over calories tonight! Sorry team! It is just one day though.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Jenn

@ KIRANICSMOM yes you're so right....you don't know how sometimes we are so ungrateful for the little things...when he was born he was a normal baby, by the age 1 1/2 almost 2 i noticed the delay on his speech but my husband told me that was normal on his family because his dad was a late talker...he developed on other areas but speech and motor fine coordination were not up to speed...so i just thought ok he will outgrow that...but when he entered to pre-school was when things started to go out of track...we actually had a fight with the social worker because she was treating him like if he was stupid or something...not the best help...so we took him to tests and stuff and changed him from that school and when they told us he was autistic i just felt like the whole world just closed on me...that was a low blow...but i started to seek help not just for him but for me and how was the best way to help him and now i'm very proud of all those little things he is being accomplished...on the other hand i feel a bit bad for my daughter who's 3 and she is way ahead of him on speech and other things and sometimes it feels like i favor my son but i don't know i have to learn how to balance between the two of them...especially because i don't want him to feel like he is different i want him to feel he is as normal as any other kid.

@ SKYEBREAZ yes....sometimes we just focus so much on the scale that we overlooked the other progress like clothes size...size 12 AMAZING!!!!!!!

@PSAGI77--So glad to hear your son is making positive progress. I can't imagine the stress you have probably gone through. So many people take little things with their kids for granted and don't think about how hard those same things can be for others. I have a very good friend whose 4 year old is fighting cancer right now. I try to be thankful everyday that my child is healthy. We have come so far in understanding autism in the past few years...it is amazing the things these children can accomplish. This may seem trivial but have you ever seen the movie "Temple Grandin"? It is about someone who grew up with autism in the 50s and 60s and what she was able to accomplish. My 9 year old loves this movie and it really helped us have some conversations about autism.

@SKYEBREAZ--12s!!! That is awesome! It seriously can be the little things that matter on this journey!

yesterday i had PT meeting in my son's school...good news is that he is making so much progress on his goals...the speech therapist was very happy and the teachers who knew him from last year and this year are very happy with his progress...with God's will he will not have to take medication to keep him focus any time soon...he was diagnosed with mild autism so that's why it's been a struggle with him the past 2 years and still is but he is making amazing progress...like you take for granted things that kids learn easily like bottom him self or zipper even eating by him self...this year he finally learned how to zipper his jacket and pants and now he is eating by him self correctly so i'm just very proud of my son.

@ IMAOFSEVEN don't worry we will be here when you are ready.
@ KIRANICSMOM those are super great news...very happy for you
@ SKYEBREAZ that is so great!!!!! i felt the same way when i squezzed my self into those bad boys after being wearing size 18/20

Holy moly...all this feeling down in the dumps and off track...I almost forgot the great news I received today.

I got my labs back from last Friday. With better diet and exercise since November of 2009, I have brought my cholesterol down from 176 to 113!!! I was 128 last March...down enother 15 points. I remember how that 176 scared me into doing something. I have a Hz of heart disease in my family and I didn't want to be the young heart attack victim. There is a number that really matters and I didn't get it from my scale! emoticon

Must be one of those days. I did get in a wall today but just can't get motivated to lift weights tonight. I am gonna get up in the am to do Push 1.

@IMAOFSEVEN--We will be here when your life slows down.

@SKYEBREAZ--I loved the c25k program last year...this year I just don't feel like I have enough time for everything I want to do. I love clx but feel like I should be doing turbofire to get rid of some extra fat that I have. I want to run again this year but feel like I will be starting over again.

I think I am just having a rough week! Need to get refocused and back on track before I let myself totally derail!!!

I owe all of you an apology. Sorry for going AWOL. I am mega overwhelmed with way too many things, and have not been posting. I hope to be back in the swing of things next week. In the meantime, I have been DOING the challenge, just not posting about it.
Good luck to all of you, keep it going strong and I hope that you'll be willing to take me back when I get my life back in order.

Thanks,

Dvora

Zumba for me tonight! I love the way it works up a sweat without feeling like you are killing yourself.

@IWNT2BFIT--Everyone has a bad or off week. Just don't let it derail you! Get back on track with your food and exercise. You can do it!

@PSAGI77--Sorry to hear today didn't go as well as you wanted it to. I totally can relate to taking out a bad day in your workout! I am sure you felt so much better after it was over!

@SKYEBREAZ--Glad you found your motivation to get your workout in. I think that Push 2 is the hardest one for me...all of the shoulder work!
I am excited about our cruise. My bff and I will have an awesome time no matter what! I think we have picked out excusions. We are going to do a snorkeling and sting ray tour in the Bahamas and are thinking about doing the atv tour in Cozumel but if you have any other ideas for Cozumel, we would love to hear them.

did NOT want to work out today....at all. the time change finally hit me this afternoon on my way home from work. i had already spent all day outside (sunburn to prove it) celebrating pi day with my kids. (i teach 7th grade math) so when i got home i took a nap, then proceeded to try and find excuses to not work out....needed more sleep, had a headache, won't hurt to skip a day....it was bad. finally, i got my big butt out the bed, geared up, and turned on CLX push phase 2. so glad i did!

@KIRANICSMOM cruises are my absolute favorite vacation. i have been on 5. if you want some tips let me know emoticon

@IWNT2BFIT-Don't you worry...everybody has those days/weeks when you just don't want to do anything...the good thing is that you recognize that and jump back on track we are here for you.

@ KIRANICSMOM- People said 40 it's the new 20 and besides like IWNT2BFIT says...age it's just a number what's important it's how you feel inside.....you are going to have a blast in that cruise

Hello Butterflies,

So I had a terrible week for my first week as a butterfly and am going to recommit to this working out thing. I fell off the wagon last Thursday when I did not work out then did not track all off the food I ate that day. I continued on my bad week thru - Sunday and have decided I can not get to the point of not exercising. I did wake up this morning and did the Turbo Fire 45. I think one of the problems is I have no real schedule of what work outs I will do. So I will sit down this evening and write out what work outs I will do this week. So here is to following through on my working out and food tracking.

Jenn, 40 really is just a number and I can feel your pain with that number..as I am 41. I often wonder where the time has gone as I can not believe that I am 41.... Well here is to a good birthday week enjoy...

To all other Butterflies let's Fly..

Push week 2 starting this week. I really didn't do that great this weekend. Did a ton of walking but didn't really get what I consider cardio done. Eating wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. I am looking forward to Zumba tonight to really get my heart rate up!

This week is kind of bittersweet for me. My 40th Birthday is on Friday. I am really trying to have a good attitude about it but it is kind of brining me down. On the sunny side of things, I am probably in better shape and more active then I have been the whole time I was in my 30s so that is a good thing. It is just really hard for me not to get hung up on the number emoticon

Hope everyone has a great Monday and we hear from everyone this week!!!

@SKYEBREAZ--My cruise is from May 16 to the 21st. I am driving from IL to Kansas City and my friend and I are flying to Tampa on May 15. The cruise leaves on the 16th...goes to the Bahamas and then Cozumel then back to Tampa on the 21st. I am looking forward to it. Neither of us has ever been on a cruise before. Awesome job with upping your weights!

@PSAGI77--Good luck with the raise! Impressive with the jump rope, it is a really intense workout.

@ skyebreaz....wow 25lb weight that's AWESOME I can handle weights so i do it with resistance bands...i bought the profit set and they are pretty good....it's a set of 5 and each indicates the weight value....so i like it.

@SKYEBREAZ--Congrats on the shopping. It is awesome to have clothing you are working towards. I bought 2 sleeveless shirts for my cruise. Can't wait for my arms to be good enough to wear them.

I have to catch up on a lifting day tomorrow. Did a cardio day today instead. Hope Everyone remembers to turn in their clocks back tonight emoticon

@PSAGI77-- Glad you're here! Lets rock it!

Push 2 for me early tomorrow because I have a benefit all day for a child with cancer. Makes me realize how lucky I am and how insignificant and small my problems.

speaking of working, i kicked butt this week. i lost 1 lbs and 1/2 inch in my waist emoticon

So...have you ever had one of those days where you don't want to work out? My daughter is so funny when I get like that. She says, "Mom, you know what Chalene says." I respond "Give me just 5 minutes."

Anyway, I was having one of those days yesterday evening. I was suppose to do Push 2 but I was just feeling really weak. Making excuses, gonna skip working out, it was already 8 pm. I decided that I would go ahead and work out but when I looked at Push 2...I hate shoulder exercises. So.....I did Push 3 instead. I felt great when I got done and now I have Push 2 scheduled for early Saturday morning.

I kind of feel like I cheated but I still got in my workout! emoticon

@MADDEELOU--Congrats on the new dog! emoticon They can be very motivating. I have 2 German Shorthair Pointers who will be 3 years old soon. I can't wait until I can get outside more with them and my country road gets less squishy. I would like to turn my female into my running partner.

@IMAOFSEVEN--Wow 7 kids, I only have one 10 year old daughter. I look up to you! Accountability is one of the reasons I joined this challenge too. I always do better when I am working towards a goal. (I have a cruise coming up on May 16 to celebrate my 40th Birthday!)

@IWNT2BFIT--Congrats on the 25lb weight loss! That is about what I have lost and maintained since last January. I unfortunatley still have about 25 more to go. I'll get there! I completely understand a plateau...I honestly have been STUCK between 185 and 183 since last November when I had surgery and had to quit ChaLean Extreme for about 8 weeks. I started the Push phase this week and the scale said 181 on Tuesday so hopefully (fingers crossed) I might be back on the way down.

Looking foward to hearing from all three of you! I'll friend all of you and feel free to do the same with me!

Jenn emoticon

Hello and I do appreciate the Welcome,

I am very happy to have more people to be accountable to. I am 41 years old employed full time mother of 4 kids ages 16,12,9 and 7. I have been at this loosing weight and exercising thing since June of 2010. I started with just walking and then progressed in to doing the Chalean videos in October. I have lost about 25lbs and would like to loose another 10lbs. I have been in some what of a plateau since December and I joined this challenge to keep me accountable to exercising and logging my food.

I am looking forward to the remaining 15 weeks and getting to know all of you.

I too appreciate the welcome. It was tough feeling accountable when so many team members were AWOL. Now I'll really have to pull through for all of us!

A quick intro- I'm a 37 year old mother of 7, ages 17 to 5 months. RIght now I'm working part time, and will be going back to full time work in May. While it's great having the extra time for fitness, I find it really challenging to be home and so near my refrigerator and pantry.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you better.

Hi Butterflies,

Thanks for the welcome. I was getting discouraged that there were only 3 blue birds that were active and admit that I totally slacked off. My eating has been pretty cruddy but thankfully we have a new dog who DEMANDS to be walked every day.

Looking forward to getting to know you all. Off to have a nice soak in the tub.
