I started ChaLEAN Extreme on January 2, 2011. This should have been my first week of the Push Phase but I hurt my back during Burn Circuit 3 in the last week so I am on bed rest. Looking forward to starting again next week!!

I've been checking in on a different thread, but thought I'd post over here for once!
I did my first day of Push yesterday, my biceps are a bit sore!!! lifted really heavy, and so glad i bought my Selecttech weights, otherwise I'd have to be out buying some much heavier dumbbells than what I had.

I lost alot of inches and 6.5 lbs in the Burn Phase! Hoping for some good results in this phase too!

Audrey- Wow! That's great progress.

I did BC2 today. I did all 12 pushups on my toes (with rest breaks)- first time! but did the breakdown set on my knees. I am hoping to get some cardio in later.

I'm back after being away on a little birthday getaway this weekend. My fiancee and I went to St. Augustine, Florida and I spent the whole weekend walking and sightseeing. We even climbed to the top of a lighthouse which equaled to 14 stories or 200+ stairs. That was a real test of how much more fit I am now than I was about a month ago. I was breathing heavy and my legs burned by the time we reached the top but I wasn't gasping for breath or out of breath. I could have done it again if I had to. That felt awesome!

I gave myself the day off today to give my legs and feet a break however I ended up grocery shopping and running errands so I was active anyways. Back to my regularly scheduled workouts tomorrow!

Today was a running and elliptical day. Tomorrow it's BC 3 and some Turbo Fire. I'm calling tomorrow my last chance workout because on Friday I'm going to St. Augustine for the weekend to celebrate my birthday and other than walking I don't think there will be much exercise.

I took a few days off because I wasn't feeling well and then I had class all weekend. I only have class on weekends once per month but when I do, it's a very stressful and long weekend so I tend to just take those days off. Ran on the treadmill and went on the elliptical today. Tomorrow it's back to CLX!

I've had to take a couple of days off because I'm fighting a cold. I am doing Burn Circuit 3 tomorrow. I also have Jam Team Practice for my kids at children church. We will be doing hip hop jams for church! Talk about high energy exercise.

Today I decided to take a rest day because I didn't sleep well last night and wasn't feeling too well. I also felt physically tired and basically drained. I took the day to just relax on the couch and take a break from school and everything in general. I made it a movie day and I enjoyed it. Now it's back to work tomorrow.

I am in 2nd week of CEX.

I did burn1 this morning and felt like I could have some fun with a HITT, so, I just threw in TF HITT 15. emoticon

Today I was supposed to do my run on the treadmill however when I got to the gym, half of the treadmills were reserved for the Biggest Loser challenge they have going on. The rest of the treadmills were already taken so I had to settle for an hour on the elliptical. Going back tomorrow(earlier) to do my run.

Thanks! I happen to have a set of really good resistance bands which have a certain weight like dumbbells...if that makes sense. They have clips on the end and you can add different bands to get the weight/resistance you need. I will give it a go with those first being that the exercise system in itself is already costly.

I use dumbells. I go from 5-15 lbs and it varies b/c for upper body (like shoulders) I use lighter weights or else I lose form. Lower body, when squatting, I can go heavier. I just finished my 1st week... I think I will do 20 lbs for lower body this week and see how I do. I also will try to up my weighs for upper body as well. They also show how to use bands in the dvds too... if you aren't ready to invest in the weights. We already had the dumbells here before I started the program.

Hello :) I am seriously considering purchasing Chalean Extreme and wanted to know if there is any additional equipment I need to buy other than dumbells. Regarding the dumbells what weight do you guys suggest. All I have is a set of 8lbs and I assume I need lighter or heavier ones depending on the exercise. Thanks in advance for your help.

Mommadevon: Insanity is a tough workout! I couldn't tell ya which one is harder since they are both hard but it is a great substitution for Fire. I'm waiting until I finish a round of TF to go back to Insanity.

I have been feeling a little twinge on my right elbow since I started lifting heavier so I decided to give it a rest yesterday and skipped BC 3. My weights go from 5 to 10lbs so I got 8lbs to see if that would help even though I can get to 10 reps with the 10lbs. Hopefully with some rest it won't hurt and I can get back into it tomorrow.

im on the last week of the Burn phase - suppose to be doing burn intervals, but I think Im going to do Insanity instead. I dont have Turbo Fire - though i sooo want it - and while i am not a fan of Insanity it is def one killer cardio workout. so in the name of saving money im going to start a CLX/Insanity hybrid.

Yesterday I was feeling run down so I decided to take my rest day instead of taking it on Monday. Today I went to the gym and went on the treadmill and the elliptical and I had energy and felt good. I'm learning to listen to my body and give it the rest it needs.

I did BC 1 and HIIT 20 today. Feeling tired since I didn't get a good night of sleep. For some reason I kept getting hot so I would take my covers off then I would get cold so I had to put them back on. I spent half the night doing that. Trying to find the energy to go to class tonight.

Today is a rest day for me but I plan on doing Stretch 40 later on in the evening. I need a good stretch! I also lost 2.5 pounds this week but I keep forgetting to measure myself so I don't know if I lost any inches. My pants feel a little looser so I'm gonna guess I have lost inches. Today I did BC 2 and Hip Hop Hustle. I ended up doing HHH twice because the instructional section was only 15 minutes long. Next time I'm doing the class!

Burn Intervals and Ab Burner today. I burned over 1,000 calories (HRM) in an hour. I sure was breathing hard (but it felt so good to be moving again).

i have to drop out for a few weeks. i was in a car accident on 12.29.10 and my doctor says nothing more strenuous than walking and yoga until he gives me the go. but good luck, you guys!

No CLX today but I ran on the treadmill and also went on the elliptical. I'm feeling a little extra sore so tomorrow I'm going to take a rest day and get right back into it on Friday.

I started this morning with Burn Circuit 1 - I can definitely feel it in my arms and legs! I think it's going to take a few times through the workouts to really get the hang of what weight to use, though. There were a couple exercises that I went too high on today, and a few that I didn't go heavy enough. I'm sure the real benefit will come once I get that down!

i did burn circuit 1 yesterday, and i used relatively heavy weights, but i'm not feeling sore at all today and i usually do from the other dumbbell workouts i do at home. i hope i start liking this more and really feeling it or i might switch to p90x or keep writing my own workouts. are you guys having a good experience so far?

I did burn circuit 1 on the 2nd, and doing burn circuit 2 today! On track for eating yesterady and so far this morning...alhtough i am HUNGRY!! but hopefully that goes away soon..

I'm still going with my CLX and loving it. This week I'm doing LEAN phases MWF and then doing FIRE on T/TH! Leaving for Thailand on Sunday so Saturday I may add FIRE 60 or Get Lean Intervals just to kill some more calories before travel! Have a great week all!

Hi folks,

Started Chalean Extreme today, but I've been exercising steadily since mid-November, so this isn't a New Year's thing. I'm following the Chalean calendar, with the addition of 40-60 minutes of moderate cardio on Sunday, and maybe some light cardio or stretching on Tuesday to promote recovery. I find that if I don't work out at all, the other habits slip as well, so I should probably do at least a little something every day.

Jan. 1 - Weigh-in and measurements (see blog)
Jan. 2 - Fitness test (likewise)
Jan. 3 - Burn Circuit 1

Restarting today...haven't done one single workout in 6 weeks! Missed working out so much. Lots of family stuff going on..lost all access to my workout space...had to give it up to family staying with me.Anyway, made some changes and now I'm psyched!Can't wait to get back to it!
