finished W7D2. I much prefer straight running to the intervals. For the last few minutes of my run a Danko Jones song came on my shuffle. I noticed that I picked up the pace and lengthened my stride. The right music is so important.

Did the day 1 run today. I lasted the entire 25 minutes, but my distance was only 1.65 miles instead of 2.5. However, I'm not disappointed. I'm a lot farther than I was when I started when even the 60 second run was a struggle.

I finished Week 7 on Wednesday. Yea! I'm supposed to start Week 8 tomorrow, but I'm sick, so I may have to push it back a few days. I'll see how I feel in the morning.

Today was my last day of Week 7 and it went well. It was difficult and I really had to focus to control my breathing, but I did it! I also felt like I could have kept going so I know that I'm not going to have a problem with Week 8 starting on Wednesday! YAY! I'm excited!

I did W7D1 today and it was great. I hurt my neck yesterday so I was trying to be super careful with it today but that wasn't going to stop me!

I actually increased my speed to 4 mph which felt great! I know it's slow, but I'm working on endurance. I've been doing HIIT on the treadmill so I think that's definitely helping with the runs. After last Friday I'm a little petrified to try the long runs outdoors!

I would be willing to be that once you hit the pavement you'll go quite a bit faster! (I run a 12 minute mile on the TM at a 2% incline, and ran a 9:50 mile when I did my 5K last month...BIG difference!! AND I felt like I was going SOOOO slow! LOL)

Treadmill.

It's still too cold for me to run outside. (I live in the Toronto area and today it is -16C or 14F outside. Brrr.)

I completed W7D3 on the weekend and I was happy with my performance. I increased my speed and distance from the last run but I'm still only averaging about 5.6kmph (about 3.5mph) for the run. I believe that's a 16 minute mile?

Week 8 starts tonight. I'm hoping increase my speed/distance continually, although at this rate it will take me longer than 9 weeks to reach 5 km in one run!

week 7 was a breeze for me running the time (I am still on treadmill til I get my shoes) but the weather outside was so miserable that I was in a funk all week so it was bleh...it was also my easy week on marathon training. Next week I am stepping it up and hopefully seeing better results than this week. I stayed within an 11-12 min mile range so I was relatively pleased

You're completely normal!! I think that the first time I "actually" ran the full 3.1 miles was at my race last weekend. Usually I'm just under 3 for 30 minutes. AWESOME job, btw!!

Did my first run of week 7 tonight and am proud of the fact that I did better in speed and distance than my last 25 minute run (W6D3)... especially in light of the fact that I have a nasty sinus infection and I'm taking 2 prescription and 2 over the counter medications just to take the edge off!

I'm picking up my pace but I'm still only managing to run a total distance of 2.5 km (warm-up and cool down excluded). Am I especially slow or is this normal?

Started week 7 today. Yippee! It was a good run.

This may sound silly, but I guess runners say "pace" instead of "mph"?? And that would be your average time for a mile?

W7D2 done today and was much better than D1!! Hoping to speed up pace once I get to my 30 min. of running as running on average between 4.2-4.44 miles/hour.

Anyone else in week#7, how are others finding it??

W7D1 done yesterday. I will admit that I found it VERY tough - I think I was in a bad head space when I went to the gym as I was tired and kind of negative about doing the run. I pretty much had to tell myself constantly to keep going after about the first 5 min. of the run...but I DID IT! Hopefully the next one will be better, or at least that I will be more positive about it! I am still hurting I think from the 25 min. session from W6!

I'm taking it slow...I wanted to run today but won't because I know my ankle needs to rest. Back at it tomorrow, though!! :-)

running does feel fine.the more you do the more you want..be careful with the sore ankle you could hurt it worse.after you run on flat places for awhile try running on hills even a few stair alsome work out..lot of calories burnt away.its below zero here so im doing the walk thing in a local shopping mall its .9 of a mile....

Okay...so I do my first week 7 run tomorrow...a little nervous because I'll be going outside, and it's only my 3rd time (1st time since week 5!!!) running on something other than my handy treadmill. LOL! Okay...so I know it's the same run as the last run of week 6, which was great. Hopefully tomorrow goes smooth...wish me luck!!
