Sarah, you didn't fail at all...you did something different, and that's what it's all about. It doesn't matter that it didn't feel any harder...sometimes just a change of scenery, or running on a different surface, can make a difference.

I began the week at a track, because I was visiting my in-laws and don't like running their neighborhood that is one giant hill.

When I got home, I decided to run my usual route backwards (not running backwards, but beginning where I usually end). It's actually not that different from running it the normal way. I think I failed this challenge. :)

Our challenge for this week is to switch up our running routine at least one day this week.

Running the same route, at the same speed, each and every day can be boring! It can get us into a rut where we stop seeing improvement, which can be very demotivating. So this week, try to switch it up for at least one day. Maybe you take a different route, maybe you run the same route but change up HOW you run it (like maybe you run intervals along the route, or add in some speedplay), or maybe you take it outside if you're used to running indoors. Any change at all can spark new gains for you, both mentally and physically.

We'd love to what you do to change things up this week. Reply to this post and let us know what you did different and how it went...your feedback could help someone else, especially a new runner, get a whole new perspective.
