I feel like I did several "be good to yourself" things this week. I kept up my "real" blogs all week, did one of the things I had been procrastinating over (filled out passport application with new name), got all "dolled up" almost every day (I feel so much better when I do this).

All in all, I'm ending out the week in a much better place than where I started in terms of stress. Ups and downs in life are normal, but I have to admit it feels so much better to be on an "up" part of the cycle of life than the "down" part.

I may have more to add later in the week. But running itself has been my "self-care" this week. My husband just got laid off, so we have those financial stresses, we are in Ohio and I'm not sure the last time we saw the sun! But those runs make me feel so much better.

Wow - what a great challenge and at a time when I really need it. I started January off with so much energy and slowly I've been letting the stresses of every day life get the best of me and forgetting about what is important....the little things that you can do to take care of yourself, love yourself, and be true to who you are. Thank you Simplelife09 - I'm going to make this challenge happen!!

As we run toward health in January, many of us are faced with challenges brought on by stress, depression or just the plain old January blahs.

Good health includes not only eating right and exercising, but taking care of ourselves emotionally.

The challenge this week is to plan and do at least one nice thing for yourself and come here and let us know about it. We look forward to hear how you have chosen to provide some "self-care" this week.
