I got my fruits and veggies in today:
Breakfast: fruit smoothie (3 servings)
Lunch: salad (1), sugar snap peas (2)
Evening snack: v8 (1)

I did good at the party last night.

I have gotten six in today
Breakfast: 1-fresh fruit
Snack:1-v8
lunch:2-mixed lettuce 2cups
dinner:2-mixed lettue 2 cups

I'm going to a Christmas party tonight. If I eat less than 370 calories, I'll still be in range!

I got my 5 in today:
Breakfast-v8 (one serving)
lunch-big salad (3 servings of veggies)
dinner-edaname (one serving)

I thought I was eating pretty good, but I ended up 500 calories over. It would have helped to track first and then eat.

I've gotten in 7 servings again today. It was pretty easy. Fruit smoothie with breakfast, big salad for lunch and green beans for dinner. Also had sweet potatoes for dinner. I will probably go over my calories too. (Maybe next week's goal could be to track calories each day). I'm getting in my water too. Whoo Hoo!

I got 6 servings in early today and got in at least 7 yesterday. It's easy for me when I start my day with a fruit smoothie. It counts for 3 servings. I got 2 more servings in by eating and entire English cucumber topped with a little peanut butter. Yum! I also had a little can of V-8 juice as a snack today.

I like your idea of getting back on track. I'm in the midst of doing a one month experiment on myself. I'm not counting calories, I'm being careful with what I eat. Instead I'm focusing on eating the right amount of servings of everything for the month. I'm doing this to become more aware of how much I should be eating. I started today.
I have had all of my veggies today. I found this yummy soup from Wegman's. They have a few flavors. But I grabbed Broccoli and then some potato and leek soup. They're pureed, so they taste creamy but are super low in calories and are only made with veggies and stock! The broccoli is 60cals/cup and the potato is 100cals/cup. Very yummilicious!!
I do need to have 2 more servings of fruits tonight. Also, a side point, 1 serving of meat and 1 serving of grains.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Less than a month away and Christmas will be here. I really have no problem with taking a day or 2 off of normal eating for the holidays, but it really isn't in our best interest to take the whole month off. So let's make use of our time in early December to get healthier.

I'm assuming most of us ate more and/or differently on Thanksgiving. So, I thought a great way to get us all back on track would be to encourage eating a total of 5 servings of fruits/veggies each day this week. I find when I eat this way, there is less room for junk in my diet.

To ensure that I get this much in, I like to include a fruit at each meal and a vegetable with my lunch and dinner.

So, we'd love to hear from you on how you are doing with your fruits & veggies this week. And let us know if you have a way that you like to prepare your favorite fruit or veggie treat.
