Today i got in 42 miles on the stationary and 26 yesterday. This is my 6th week on SP and the motivation to exercise is still great but the old appetite is rearing it's ugly head again. How do you slay that dragon?

I stayed motivated! I've really increased my exercise this week....I'm doing 30 minutes of cardio nearly everyday. Next week I plan to try to add in some strength training.

Had to change my routine this week as I am traveling for work. However instead of snowy Michigan, I'm in warm and sunny Nassau Bahamas. YEAH!!! So my exercise consisted of 30 minutes in the hotel gym, a 20 minute run on the beach (much tougher than the treadmill...ugh) and 2 Bahama Mama 16 oz arm curls.

Got in 30 minutes on the bike, 15 minutes jumping rope and some upper body lifting. Had to do it all inside the YMCA since is frinkin' freezing outside. -8 degrees outside...gotta love Michigan.

While I got off to a slow start today, today turned out to be a really good day. I did 60 minutes of cardio earlier tonight and went the entire day without caloried drinks. I had been cutting out the soda pop quite successfully but went back to it for a few days.
I'm doing better today than I did yesterday. But today is the new beginning and so far it's going well.

I didn't drag myself out of bed this morning. But I did go for my brisk walk during lunch at work (yes had to work today) and then went to gym on way home and worked out with aerobics (stair master and ran on track) and did some lower body. So over all not a bad day.
Trying to stay motivated. Hope everyone else did well.

Always a great feeling 3/4 of the way through a workout or cardio...reminds you of why we do this exercise thing! Good for you for getting up and working out on a holiday. I assume it was either quiet as heck in there...or busy as heck. My wife says that bars are traditionally busy this weekend as people go to their hometowns and go out to see old friends....I wondr if gyms are busy too for those who have people visiting and need to "get away from it" for a bit?

Happy Thanksgiving all.
This AM went to gym (belong to a 24 kind that is always open) and worked out pretty hard. Did aerobic and some upper body. I worked out until I was beat.
I don't plan on over doing it at Thanksgiving today, but I wanted to use a day off to really push myself.
I really feel good when I am done. That is what I have to remember is the best motivator.

I'm that way too sometimes, but halfway through it I think "why wouldn't I want to be doing this...I feel so good!"
I've started the day off right with a morning upperbody workout...now just to keep the nutritional part in line for the day!

Gotta find that magic bullet to motivate me to exercise as much as I really want. I am having no trouble right now on the "diet side"
Last night I was tired after work and didnt want to go to the gym, but I forced myself, and glad I did.

I was doing some thinking about motivation. It seems that the more progress we make, the easier it becomes to stay motivated. During my moments of struggle, when I reach my plateau, my motivation levels are very low. Imagine that. But when I’m making progress, my motivation levels are high. Right now, I feel good, feel very self-motivated and encouraged. I guess my progress continues to soar.

Ok, I was up early, made it to the gym and jumped into the hot tub, a long 15 minute soak and then I jumped into the pool for a brief swim and then 19 minutes in the sauna. It felt good. Tommorow Swimming and running

Yes indeed!! I have exercised for 30 minutes a day for 4 days in a row since I joined this team.No women's team could do that! I've got a ways to go, but at least I started, thats the hardest part! Yoga seems interesting. How do I start?

I started off motivated with my morning run. I was stupid and tried to time myself on a 300 meter sprint. Did it in 53 seconds, which is good I guess, but it ruined the rest of my run (I was too winded). Anyway, I'm eating well and will get some sleep so that I can wake up and work out tomorrow morning. WooHoo!

I'm starting the day off right with a 4:40 wake up and upper body workout. I have to pull a 13 hour shift today (filling in for my father-in-law) at the beach. Not too much hard work...in fact I'll be able to mess around SparkPeople a bit while there...WooHoo!
I finally have bought some new clothes. I am down 4 inches off my waist and have dropped from a 2x/3x shirt to an X-large shirt. Since beginning spark people this past June 2008, I have lost a total of 30 lbs and 21 inches. I can finally stop shopping in the "Big and Tall" section. I feel great! I still have 90 lbs to get to my goal weight but I feel so motivated. Today for my workout I walked at 10K and did well. We all can do this! I found myself asking myself, "Why did you wait so long to start this journey?" Thank you SparkPeople!

With sore legs I still awoke at 5am to run my 5k route!
Going to carry this motivation throughout the day. After a 6pm leg workout (first leg workout in 2.5 months!) I was somehow able to carefully get out of bed and run my 5k route and then abs workout. While walking around with sore/stiff legs isn't fun, there is a little satisfaction knowing that this is part of the goal being accomplished! WooHoo!
Still motivated for now. And plan on keeping it that way. I look forward to getting home and doing cardio and working out, I have to do it 7 days a week now on the cardio or think I am letting myself down

I'm hoping to carry my motivation through this day. Woke up at 5am and went for a 5k run/walk and had a good breakfast of oatmeal and egg whites omelet! Hope to do the same tomorrow with weight lifting! As we say on SP...WooHoo!
