There are two half marathons in May. (13.1 miles.) Is this what you are talking about? The Mini Marathon is on May 2nd, and it is sold out. The Geist Half Marathon, I believe, is on May 9th and has not sold out. Both have 5ks (3.1 miles) attached to them. I wouldn't be surprised if the Mini one has sold out too.

As for running/ walking events, see below.

There is an event in Carmel on Valentines Day that isn't on any of these pages.

These types of races are so much fun. And normally the money goes for a good cause.

Hi. I used to live in Indy, and am still pretty close. I meet a friend sometimes and we walk the Monon. I love Holliday Park! Have you been there? Even if it is a bit of a trip it is worth it. They have trails you can walk on, it's like a state park. They have a nature center, a great play ground if you have kids, a rock is older so it's pretty neat. I used to ice skate at the Pepsi Coliseum. Isn't there some 13K coming up in May? A friend of my friend was trying to talk me into walking it. Don't know if I could work up to it or not...

Hi all,
We should post places to get exercise in Indy! I went ice skating last night at Perry Park on the Southside, and that was a great workout...

Do you guys know of any good places to go hike, or rollerblade or swim?

In the summer, it is good exercise to walk up the stairs of the monument downtown. There is an elevator, but the stairs are ROUGH!!! and the reward is to look out the top!

And another thing, we should post when we are doing running or walking events - I would LOVE to do one of those things, but really want someone to go with!
