Way to go Erin!!! Great idea using the iphone! you have to try the Arc Trainer...looks like an eliptical machine/ski machine...the leg paddles move further apart and the arms move back and forth...a total body workout in one! Good luck and have fun...ask the staff which machine the arc trainer is... emoticon

I have an iphone and use it for my routine. I use the note pad function and have entered all the machines I use and put down the weight, reps and sets I did so the next time I go I can see what I set it at the last time and be more efficient at using the machines. Since I just joined on Sunday I took pictures of each of the signs (name, description and example) then came home and entered them. The next day I went I entered the weights and the third time I used it as a guide and it worked great. Now I can track how I improve over time by noting when I increase the different components. I'm going to love this gym. I already do!
I have to figure out what the arc thing is though I haven't done that one yet.

Brought my little index card with all good intentions and decided since it was such a rainy dreary day I'll do my first attempt at tanning, I was so excited that I could stay in this little closed in box for the alloted time I have no idea what I did with my workout card. Ended up doing my own thing, concentrated the abdominals (my target area) and did 20 min on level 3 on the treadmill...yahoo! So much for the great plan!!!

Thank you for this post! So far, I have only used the cardio machines and the 30 minute express room at my PF. The strenght machines are always so busy and I never know where to start. This will be a great help :)

I'm going to print this out and use it as a guideline as I get easily lost when it comes to keeping track of what I should be doing.

I, too, don't really like the bike so I may substitute that with the treadmill, and maybe the back extension exercise as I have no idea what that is. If it's what I think it is, I might be afraid of it. ;) lol.

I did the first challenge on here today, as all the machines are at my gym too (I think). It has given me a little direction at the gym, which I have needed lately!

I did the second workout of this challenge. It calls for the stationery bike. I did it, but I dont' think the payoff is as good as it is on the treadmill.

I did 20 minutes on the bike and worked off 86 calories. When I do 20 minutes on the treadmill, I go over 200 calories.

Maybe I just didn't pedal hard / fast enough???

Please let me know if your Planet Fitness uses different machines.

I found the workout plan at www.cybexintl.com and modified it so it prints out on 1 week per line.

I posted the workout at google docs.

Let me know if you have any problem with the link.

The Planet Fitness that I go to uses the Cybex VR3 Machines and I thought this would be a good challenge. Feel free to modify for your own needs, but this is a good starting point.

This is set up for 3 workouts per week - and since Spark People recommend the same - we are right on target!!

I figure that some people would have already started their workout for this week, so we will start next week 8/23.
Good Luck!! spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AvT
