So I started crossfit about a month ago now and I'm really enjoying it.
Not a lot of our workouts (after I finished the beginner 2 weeks) have allowed for me to figure out my max weight, though we did do it with deadlifts the other day.

I managed 155 pounds though that was after a workout that included pull ups, so next time I think I'll aim for heavier!

Just finished my second week of Body by Design - just getting back into the gym after several years and four surgeries. The second week I was able to increase my weights, but I wasn't nearly as sore as the first week. Not spending the weekend hobbling around from muscle soreness may not sound like much of an accomplishment, but I'll take it for now :)

Last year I did barbell squats for the first time with just the 25lb curling bar and could barely do it.

115lbs 5x5 Squat this week, will move to 120lbs next week. Yay

Achieved 145lb 1x5 Deadlifts. First time my grip failed and I'll have to start using chalk! (No I don't wear gloves)

75lb 5x5 Bench press without needing hubby to nudge my last couple of reps. 100% me. I've been stuck in the 70s for awhile, having to deload and work back up a couple of times. Looking forward to trying 80lbs next week.

Last year I went from not being able to do squats to doing 135 lb squats.
Unfortunately I've stopped doing squats, but hopefully this year I'll get back to it.

i think my biggest accomplishments so far have been in my bench press... i pressed 285 lbs 2 times a couple weeks ago... that passes my PR of 265 lbs!!!

My goal is to be able to bench press 315 lbs before my 12 week cycle is over... i am on week 5 right now!

Well done for all the achievements below, great work everyone!!!

I know I have only just joined but thought I would share my recent achievements.

Last week I managed 3 personal bests which I was rather pleased with:

1. Bench pressed 65kg for 4 reps(previously 57.5kg)
2. Leg pressed 400kg for 7 reps on set 6 (previously 280kg)
3. Close grip bench press (tri's) 50kg for 8 reps

Finally surpassed half my bodyweight in squats! Last night I did 85lbs 5x5 squats, and moved up in deadlifts, too. I can DL 65lbs. Push-ups have even become easier! I can do 10 proper push-ups where before I could do 5 at a time. Push-ups is lifting, right? Lifting myself up, haha!

I have been lifting for 8 months now. Trying to break the 225# barrier for my bench press. Chest/Tris workout tomorrow and I want to rep 185# 8 times.

We did split jerks on Saturday. After working my way up weight-wise with a few sets, I managed to do 70 lbs after a few false starts. 75 proved to be a hair too much for right now. Making progress though.

End of January results. Just really getting back into this after a 16 year layoff but I see February as a good month as well.

January goal | results

-Bench Press: 250 lbs – to date: 275 lbs - Exceeded goal for month
-Squats: 220 lbs – to date: 315 lbs – Exceeded goal for month
-Leg Press: 450 lbs – to date: 590 lbs – Exceeded goal for month

Posting my results thus far in 2010. I think I will post my final January results, then my stats on a monthly basis going forward.

January goals (beginning 1/3/10) and stats to current day……..

I guess my best personal lifting accomplishment was a 505lb raw bench press. However, this was done at a body weight of 315lbs, so those of you familiar with powerlifting know that is nothing to get too excited about. I had a friend that did three times his body weight at a meet. Now that was impressive! But I'm satisfied with whatever God has blessed me with the ability to do.

So after having a kid nearly 2 years ago, the only thing I was lifting was food, and trust me, I was doing way too many reps and sets.

I started lifting again this past August and my goal was to get back to where I was: squat - 315, deadlift - 135, bench - 185, pre-baby, and I'm proud to say that I deadlifted 225 5 reps x 3 sets this week. Squats at 225 and bench is at 135.

dead lift 130kg for 3 reps
150kg for 1 rep

squat 120kg for 10 reps.

Started sparkpeople at 220lb. Lost weight.
Maintained..and currently at 183lb.
Now Building muscle :)

got a new personal best on my squat and deadlift last week.
deadlift: 112.5kg for 5 reps
squat: 100kg for 10 reps.

Started sparkpeople at 220lb. Lost weight.
Maintained..and currently at 183lb.
Now Building muscle :)
Next goal: To build 15lb of lean muscle.

I decided to split my routine and found that it is working out better for me. I am actually finding myself working harder and have increased my weight steadily. Probably still not as much as what everyone else is doing, but I am still happy with my accomplishments

My accomplishment is that my triceps are getting stronger and it has taken "forever"!!!! I have been lifting weights and following the BODY FOR LIFE way and no matter what I did, my triceps were not coming along. This week..... I managed to move up to 8lb kickbacks and I did all. I started at 5lb.

Id have to say my bigest lifting accomplishment was from back when I had just started out.back when I was very out of shape I remember the first time I was able to start moving my pecs. I had a real feeling of accomplishment then and that moment has stuck in my mind for years.

Casey, I'm the same as you. This week is my third week back to lifting after hurting my back last December. I am very happy with the fact that I can do anything, lol! Seriously, I am proud that I was able to get back to my pre-injury weights on some things, but not happy with the fact that I can't run yet. Patience is NOT one of my virtues!

I have started lifting so as to get my muscles back and can now use my thirty pound dumbbells for flat bench chest press four sets of 15 emoticon so making progress will be using those fifty's in no time.

Board Objective:
Post your weight lifting accomplishments! No matter what it is as long as you are proud of what you did please feel free to share. Please keep this to weight lifting only. A seperate thread is being set-up for cardio.

Accomplishment:
Finally did some squats and managed to do 185 lbs. Way below my norm, but considering I have spent two months doing no legs because of injury it just makes me proud to be squatting really.
