I'm not sure I'm understanding the issue. I add my own recipe at recipes.sparkpeople.com, then add/calculate recipe, save and add to shared data base. When tracking food, I key in the name of my recipe and add it as a favourite. Calculate your recipe, make your personalized substitutions, save, print, and then go make it. Then add to your daily food intake. Am I misunderstanding the original question? http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-ca lculator.asp
I too would love to see the integration between the Diet and Tracking App and the Recipe App. I search and save most of what I cook from the SparkPeople recipes and not having those Apps integrated is a struggle. Love the new 2.0 Diet tracker, adding this option would just complete the App for me.
Not sure which app we are discussing here, but I have the SparkPeople app (track fitness, food, water, etc); the SparkQuote, and the Spark Recipes, and also the Produce one also from SparkPeople (all iPhone platforms).
I have wished there was more integration between the apps, and between the apps and the website.
For example - I will be looking at a recipe online on my PC and have it saved to my Recipe Cookbook, and also saved as a Saved. But then when I'm at the grocery store and want to remember what that recipe was and what do I need to get, that recipe will not show up on my SparkRecipes app - at least, not as a "favorites". And on the app itself, if I'm searching for a recipe based on an ingredient that I have on hand, and try out a recipe suggested, and I save it within the app, I can't find it again on my side of the SparkRecipes on the PC.
The Spark Produce one is a good start but there are still several veggies I like to shop and use, and are shipped in globally I'm guessing (never see Watercress grown in Kansas and I see Watercress grower association websites from the UK. I think our watercress actually comes in from Colorado.?) but it is not featured in the SparkPeople Produce app.
So there's things like that which would be cool to see more integrated ...
Seems like there is something else but I'm too tired to think now....
Matthew 6:33-34 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
I too found this to be frustrating. I create a lot of my own recipes because I am gluten and cow's milk free. I have to go to sparkrecipes.com first to create and save the recipe before I can add it to what I have eaten that day, yet I can only add recipes via the computer and not my ipad.
Would love to have this feature to add in recipes from the app. Maybe they can add in the recipe calculator/creator into the app as well. That would be great!
I made a food and eat it over a few days. It is frustrating that I can't put the recipe in my iphone. I have to enter it as a grouping (and then change all the ingredient amounts to match how much I ate). Or if I enter it in my laptop, I can then put it in my iphone as a favorite, but I want to just use my iphone vs having to go enter one thing on my laptop and hoping I remember it when I am at my laptop.
