This looks great, but we always have supper right before bed, so snacking is rare. However, I do snack at other times. Since I am aware that healthy eating does include snacks I will monitor my snacks and post when I do have a snack.

I didn't snack last night as our supper stretched out late!

Today I bought some Angel Food cake but instead of a whole cake I bought a package of 6 small individual Angel Food cakes, look like cupcakes but are not.

I put one aside as a snack later on tonight, 120 calories and no fat!!

Tonight, July 16th, I had a Skinny Cow Frozen Drumstick.

Joanne it's not hopeless, I can do the very same thing - weight goes down then after 1 really good meal it goes up! I think it has something to do with our metabolism but it will come down eventually. Don't be discouraged.

Flutter, same goes with your hubby's birthday meal. One meal won't undo things and we are meant to enjoy these celebrations, not be afraid of them. I'm glad to see you've been married so many years!

Succatosh sounds like something I'd Like Jane! I can remember my first husband popping corn for our kids all the time and boy, did he ever use butter! Rolly and I make hot air popped popcorn.

I did not snack last night. I am not happy with my weight. I was under 150 for about 2 days. Now back up to 154.. If I get off my points just a little 1 or 2 times it jumps right up. Sometimes It feels hopeless.

I had popcorn. I love it. My Dad always made it with lard! But ours is healthier and I only have once a month.

Gloria, succotash is made with a mix of beans and corn. I like it with ford hook limas.

I did not snack last night, but blew it totally at dinner. It was DH 77th birthday and we went our for a nice dinner which I ate with relish. It was a wonderful evening and I do not regret forgetting diet etc to enjoy the day and evening with DH. I am lucky to have had 55 good years with him, so we deserve celebrations whenever we have something to celebrate.

He is going mall walking with me since it is 111 out here. He is actually trying to lose weight sensibly. He needs to lose 10, but 15 or so would be better.

Don't forget that sparks says it's good to have snacks, healthy ones!

As long as it fits in your calorie range, don't ever feel you CANNOT have a snack, even an apple or glass of milk qualify as a snack and good for you too!

I didn't snack last night cause we had a later supper while away and late when we got home. I don't eat when it gets close to bedtime, reflux acid, ugh!!

Nothing last night. I'll kill 2 birds with one stone and say I won't be snacking tonight, either. It is nearly 7 o'clock now and my friend is going to put hot dogs on the grill for supper. I stuffed celery with a hummus recipe from SparkFriends. She has threatened to buy potato chips. Will I eat any of them? Maybe a handful but during the meal, not after.

I try not to snack after dinner, or 10 O' clock. Sometimes I give in, but try to limit the portion size. With temperatures up in the 90's even at night ice cream is very tempting.

No snacking last night.. I am watching my points. Once I am in the 20's I know I can't eat anymore for the day.By now I guess some of you know I am following the Weight Watcher plan. I don't go to meetings,I come here. I was 149 this morning. That is a first this year that I have been under 150+. I will keep right on praying.. I want to lose at least another 5 lbs..

My record is not good today. I ate an apple and a handful of walnuts, patting myself on the back about "being good". But I still felt hungry so I spread a little margarine on bread and ate it.

No snack after 5 pm . It must be working ,or maybe not. I was down a pound this a.m. I don't get excited about that though. I go down a pound and up a pound every other day. When it starts going down on a regular basis then we will see.

We always have graham cracker and cool whip sandwiches around 9:00. I keep them in the freezer and that is our nightly snack. Could be worse.

I dropped one group that I was on because it was mostly younger people, and just didn't feel at home. I have 2 groups now, and they are the best for the 70 something people. :)

No snack but not from will power. On Sundays my DH and I eat out with friends after church and you know how filling and calorie-filled restaurant food is. So supper was more like a snack than a meal, simply because I wasn't hungry.

SNACK last night was an ice cream drumstick! And do you know, I lost 1 lb this week!

I do believe a snack at night, counted into our calories for the day, is good for us! It keeps us from being rigid with our food and ourselves - be flexible, save some calories for the hours between supper and bed. I do think I'll stop with the ice cream ones though and stick with my really healthy snacks!

A split banana instead of a banana split. Here's how to make one. Do not peel the banana. With a knife, split it down the middle but do not go through he bottom peel. Sqush both ends a little to open the banana up. Fill with semi-sweet chocolate chips and miniature marshmallows. Microwave for about one minute. Add nuts if desired and use graham crackers for dipping or just eat it with a spoon.

I enjoyed 8 big, red, juicy strawberries. Nothing added. They didn't need any added sugar or whipped topping.

I had 1/2 cup, measured, Dreyers peach ice cream. 120 calories.

I do not usually eat a snack at night.
Tonight, we ate at Subway.
I had planned to have fruit when we got home.
I bought fresh cherries at Walmart.
That is what I ate.
They were delicious.

I didn't do as well last night. I fixed the hubby no sugar added ice cream. The temptation was too much for me..I guess he should fix his own ice cream.. Joanne

For those who like a snack at night, you may get some ideas of healthy snacks on this challenge. And please do come in and post what snack you had the night before, healthy one or not! This challenge is for you (and me :-) and could help us.
Kudos to those who can manage not to eat a thing between supper and breakfast. emoticon

Last night I had celery sticks with a smidgen of peanut butter on them. A little bit of p'butter goes a long way, lol. Tasty, healthy, and satisfying.

Carol and I eat dinner late in the evening, (We're ladies, you know) dinner usually has a sizable serving of fruit. That is our dessert and snack all at once. We go to our separate rooms and play with the computers until we get sleepy. No more food for me that day.

I will eat brunch about 11 am and it will be a good cereal and milk or a high protein dish. Fruit will often be included in the meal. Then we don't get hungry again until dinner.

Fruit is the only snack food in the house. I like it that way. I am slowly losing weight and Carol is rapidly losing weight. It works.

You gals have to remember that Monty gets about 20,000 steps a day on his pedometer. I know that calls for a lot more calories than I eat. ;-)

Ella, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who needs this challenge. I was raised with dessert for lunch, dinner, and before I went to bed. Unfortunately, it has carried over into my adult life. I have a huge sweet tooth. I thought with getting 1000 fitness minutes this month, I would really loose weight. I found out that I am going to have to cut way back on the sweets.

I Have snacked every night since I started my program. For me, It is like the idea of several meals a day, the myth of gaining weight by snacking isn't true, it is how many calories we eat all day. At night, I know exactly how many calories I have left. What I had last night I call a smoothie, It included 3 oz of organic spinach, 3 oz of kale, 1 small banana, 4 oz strawberries, 4 oz of blue berries4 oz of blackberries, 2 oz of raspberries and 1 small gala apple and 2 cups of water, blended together and sipped on during the evening and 1 or 2 oz of walnuts. I also have 8 or 10 oz of grapes and sometimes a cup of sweet cherries. There are times I vary this, I do have Special K crackers, I sometimes have 2 tbls of fresh peanut butter. I also have a cup of green tea.
The important thing for me is to watch the calories and I always put into tracker before I eat them. emoticon

I don't usually snack after supper. One of my former dieting mentors said, "Get out of the kitchen fast." That's what I try to do but there's a problem. My 2 favorite TV shows, "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy" come on right after supper. I will let the dishes wait for me while I watch them.

As for what I snacked on last night - nothing, healthy or otherwise.

No snack last night ,just a cup of Sleepy Time Tea. Of course a lot of nights that is a different story and one of my down falls.
I think this challenge is a good reminder,at least for me to not eat anything after 6-7 pm or like you say something healthy ,if I have the points left...Joanne

I don't have a problem with nighttime snacking, when I'm done with dinner and the kitchen cleaned up, I don't go back... On a rare occasion, I might have a little popcorn, but that would be it.

This is one of the things that I've not had a problem with, however... along about 4 pm - that's another story!!

I have to take a pill on an empty stomach and then eat something 30 minutes later and this is before bedtime. I try to eat something healthy.
We don't do snacking as such.

I believe we all like snacking at night and a good, healthy, low-calorie snack is just fine. But for many of us, night time snacking is our down fall!

So I'm going to challenge each of you to come in here daily and post the "HEALTHY SNACK" that you had the night before!

Let's do this the entire month of July and make it a healthy habit!!
