James my 21 month old loves books. His favorites are Go Dog Go, Just me and my dad, and any Clifford or Mercer Mayer book. I like to read to him, but lately its been special dad and him time to read a book before bed. I just think its sexy for my husband to read to him... lol

You guys mentioned all the good ones for little toddlers, so I decided to throw in some for 3 or 4 year olds. My daughter LOVED: The Gingerbread Girl, Fancy Nancy (all of them), and Arnie the Donut. Also, Pinkalicious is a great read.....encourages kids to eat healthy foods!!!!

Lucy's favorite books right now are Good Night Moon (moon!), Go Dog Go! (do-go!) and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (Day!). I attempted to read her a little bit of the children's bible I'd bought, and she put up with about two paragraphs, before nicely taking the book away, closing the cover, and handing me Go Dog, Go, plopping herself down in my lap, and looking up expectantly. I had trouble reading, I was laughing so hard.
We love the Tinker Bell fairy books. Her uncle got her started on them and they are touchable as well as a longer story.... we love checking out the Bearstein Bears from the library-I enjoy being able to warn for "too much junk food" and such from the books...
