Cindy, you have to swap out your exercises every few weeks to keep your body going in the right direction. It gets used to things so quits losing. SP has an article about it.

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

UGH I gained. So much that I did not even log my weight yet. I am in a rutt :-( and it stinks. I am exercising, hard - and trying not to lose confidence. It is a struggle and right now I am having a pity party of sorts. I do hope everyone else did better over the holiday than I did.

I want to maintain for the month. My exercise program is shot, it's my birthday week and Christmas, I know the job I have will be ending sooner than later, I just want to sleep - so, maintaining is okay for now.

Hi all.

I dared to step on the scale this morning, and I am back up .8 - it's my TOM and I have had a serious case of the salties. So I figure .8's not so bad. BTW, that takes me back to my starting ticker of 13.4 - now, if I can just get through the hardest week of the year - yikes!!! I will probably post my final weigh-in on 12/31.

The only logical conclusion I can come up with is sodium, even though I didn't eat anything I don't normally eat. TOM was Nov. 19-24, so that shouldn't be an issue. I have a referral to see an endocrinologist, now I just have to get the money and fight with the insurance company and maybe we can try to get to the bottom of this.

Josie, Other things can affect weight gain like your hormonal cycle, the weather (whether it is hot or cold), medications your are on. etc. I will very on a daily basis in the summer up to 10# but now that it is cold, I don't vary as much. A lot of mine is medications that I'm on.

Josie, several reasons, water gain from sodium, TOM being 2. SP says we can have as much as a 9 pound difference in a single day.

Great job Diney. I'm annoyed because somehow I managed to gain again. I went from 240.8 on Wednesday to 245.0 on Sunday. How the heck did that happen? This is so frustrating. I think it might be my scale, but the other people in my family who use it never have fluctuations of more than maybe two pounds. Grr.

Hi all,
Well, I have seemed to finally get the scale moving in the right direction and the workouts are actually working. Yeah! So, if you will have me, I would like to join your challenge and shoot for another 2-4 pounds loss this month.

Hello everyone.

My official weigh-in day is always Friday, so I got to watch my ticker move in the wrong direction this morning. My starting ticker number for this challenge is 13.4 - it was up to 18 in September and I really want to get that October/November gain off my ticker!

Off to exercise - good luck everyone!

I have gained more than 5 pounds since my guy was so deathly ill this past month. He got out of the hospital Friday and we are going to his 3rd Dr's appointment this afternoon. He has another one tomorrow and he had a CT scan of his liver yesterday. He developed a huge liver abscess after his gall bladder surgery in Oct. he is on strong antibiotics that make him ill but he is feeling better than he was. I have been so stressed out. We thought he was going to die. So my weight has really gone up. I will weigh tomorrow morning and that will be my starting weight for this challenge.

I hope everyone joins the challenge and that we can see some good success. I want to lose 3 to 5 pounds if I can.

I'm ready to get right back into a challenge. This time, I'll be using the SP exercise program & nutrition log. I just don't want to start the year with extra weight to lose.

Please join me if you'd like - it's nice to have buddies cheering for each other.
