I certainly try. Sun has been none existent these past days. In fact we had snow yesterday which is the 1st snows since 2/23 (and this is Minn.) Weather is fickle.

Taking a daily supplement is being recommended by health professionals as well as those doing studies. This is particularly good for those dreary days most of us experience. I take 1200mg/day. This saves room for the sun and dietary consumptions. Up to 2000 is safe.

Thank you for the well wishes. I really appreciate them. Cancelled my lessons with my students and went to ER today since I won't have my new doctor until July to make sure nothing was broken. I got the same diagnosis from them as my chiropractor.... separated cartilage. This could take a while.

I did walk for 30 minutes in the sun today. Walking is about the only exercise I can do except for playing an instrument right now. I will go over the exercises and see if I can come up with other things that don't require deep breathing, moving the left side, getting up or down, or bending. Wish I could find tall bed to sleep on and a bar stool to sit on so I could avoid the whole up and down thing! completely.

Cinder, I hope you mend quickly. I am sorry that you got hurt also.

Carol, I hope you are feeling better now too.

Today, my outdoor exercise was doing laundry. I had to stop in the middle and take down a load of clothes that was wet as it started to sprinkle and looked like we were going to get a full blown storm, but it lightening and thundered for a couple hours. Now I have damp clothes still on the line and I still need to do 2 loads of whites.

Now I am injured but I still walked in the sun for 30 minutes. I can walk but can't bend.

We took the convertible out with the top down. A great way to get our dose of Vitamin D and add coolness to a hot day. It's relaxing, time shared, peaceful, and restorative. It's a can't lose!

The last 3 days I went walking / urban hiking at a wildlife refuge. I started out w/ sunscreen but of course it didn't last all the way, not the 1st 2 days when I took the longer trail.

When I was in more shady areas I'd take my shirt off for a little bit - I had a bright sport bra on so I wouldn't exactly have been arrested, hehe.

I spent most of the day in the sun. I gardened, worked in my flower beds, walked, and mowed, and supervised my dh in building the floor to the shed we purchased. LOL emoticon emoticon

My daughter has the day off today and we have four new kittens who have just started exploring and becoming more active so we spent and hour on the back deck playing with them in the sun.

Thanks for everyone's concern. I didn't do much today. I took handfuls of dirt and covered the tops of my potato plants in their barrels to within 3 inches. My dh already had the bags of top soil in the wheel barrow and open so all I had to do was sprinkle it over the potato plants and he hleped. Then I took some weeds out from around some of my carrots in their barrels so they could grow better.
I got some sun that way without much effort and no strain.

I was out and about all day yesterday and this morning. So I got plenty of Vit D.

I also had a wonderful salad with chicken and sour cream on romaine lettuce and some cheddar and monterey cheese.

I have not had a great day. Had to have my 12 year old cat put to sleep. It turns out that she had a brain tumor and we know we did the right thing. We will miss her though. Will talk about the rest of my day, tomorrow maybe. Just very down tonight and missing a long time friend.

I will be out in the sun today but not working. I really did myself in on that lawn mower and my back hurt so bad I didn't get good sleep. I got to heal and feel better before I do much in the way of work again. Thinking about going to the chiropractor.

Being outside, working in the dirt just feeds my soul. I don't go out in the mid-day however, so I hope I get enough sun by being out in the evenings. It feels SOOOOO good to be out!

Mowed today for a couple of hours. We have a huge yard to mow. We used to have a riding lawn mower to mow it but it broke down on us so I am using a regular lawn mower. Of course, that is better for my exercise, too, so hope to see some great results soon.

I wish I could get in the sun. I used to do it all the time and tan sooooo nice. Now my skin burns so easily even my left arm is about 5 shades darker than my right from being in the car driving!!!
I also cannot tolerate heat or stuffiness - so sunny places are out for my. I look out the windows and dream!!!

I spent 2 hourss tilling 4 new rows for my garden and cultivated between 2 where the onions were coming up, and planting my watermelon seeds.

Then I walked a mile and took the time to clear the tree branches from yesterday's storm off the lane. Would you believe people would just drive around them and not get them out of the way! Boy do I hurt tonight!!!

I rode out on my bike in the air with a nice sunny warm day. Now I am in the library and a storm blew in and their was a spot of lightening that has passed. I am very happy to get out and about in the weather I just wished I had brought a coat. I was so warm and toasty and now it is cooling off. The sun was really nice while it lasted.

They just brought out yesterday, not SP, that the sun light causes Cataracts. That to protect your eyes, you need to wear wrap around sun glasses.

I have them and they are steadily getting worse.

I take vitamin D supplements and get it in my calcium tablets. On that alone I get enough. If I can absorb a little from the sun, too that will be good.

Going out in the sun used to be ok back in the old days when we had a healthy ozone layer. Three members of my family have been treated for skin cancer, and I won't go out in the sun ever, if I can possibly help it.
