i'm trying to take time to read my book with a cup of tea each afternoon; as a way to relax which is hopefully also part of nurturing

At the grocery store today I gave in and bought fresh strawberries even though they are still over $3.89 a carton. Local fruits still haven't hit the local stores here yet so I had to splurge but I have been waiting so long to be able to have some fresh spring fruit and I just couldn't wait for the prices to drop.

To me HEALTH means Energy. Stamina. Flexibilty. A relatively pain free body. Enjoying healthy food. You are your body, and your weight loss efforts will succeed exactly to the extent that you mange to do the work on behalf of your embodied self. You’ll do much better when you focus on making positive changes to improve your health and well-being, rather than on fighting your bad habits.

So far today I have had a healthy breakfast and lunch, and have done some walking and plan on doing more. We also visited with our DD and took her out for lunch, and ran a few errands.

Hi Friends.

Today I read some inspiring articles for nurturing my spirit.

Pysically I did the Christian workout and just finished a 25 min workout. More later.

I am making hubby a warming dinner to welcome in Autumn. I get to sample. It makes me feel good to do nice things for him after he's had a rough work day.

Challenging myself to reach my 2015 goals while there is still time.

Debby101, I have the same problem that I don't eat near enough. Do you use the food tracker? I started using it and it has helped immensely. When my allowed calories are 1872 and I have only taken in 600 for the whole day, I know I am harming my body and need to make a good meal and find some healthy snacks.

I am so proud of you for being so close to your goal! I am working steadily on my goal. I had a bit of a setback with a "moderate" load of blood clots in both lungs so I am concentrating on diet and recuperation (which means sleep because I am so tired). So I am still moving forward and am still positive I will "git er done!"

I was able to read my Spark and reaffirm my goal of 150 lbs! My scale is stuck at 179...ugh. Haven't taken the time for me though lately, I gained custody of my nephew so I allow myself to get bogged down with kid stuff. Now that school has started here in NH I hope to be able to take some time for myself to exercise. I think thsat is the boost I need to make the scale move again. I am also trying to meet my daily calorie requirements. My metabolism is in shutdown mode because I don't take the time to eat. That looks so silly when I say that, who doesn't eat LOL. Jeesh.

This morning I was greeted with a sinus headache and no energy.
This used to happen all the time but not in the last 6 months.
Had a ton of things to do today and cancelled most of them.
Gave myself permission to rest and take care of the body.

This afternoon headache was gone and I was well rested and accomplished most things on to do list for today.

When I was in the throws of a panic attack this morning, I reached out to two of my best friends and told them I needed their support. They both continued to talk to me and reassure me until my medicine kicked in and I was able to go to sleep. I guess that could be considered nurturing myself in the most basic sense.

I think this fits. I've been de-cluttering daily. Purging is more the word. I have sorted, then re-sorted, then re-sorted many. Many great things but they no longer have a place in my world.

Yesterday I was able to donate blankets, sleeping bags and craft items to the post thrift shop. Mind you, I would much rather have donated them to the homeless/women's shelter, but that was quite a drive away.

It felt good to clean. It felt good to help others in some small way.

Went for a nice walk outside. I had been feeling cooped up inside with too many rain storms lately and certainly needed to get some walking outside time in, not just inside exercise. It is a lovely start to a gorgeous weekend and I plan on getting my fishing gear set up as my new creel arrived and I am going a few blocks back to a nice creek I want to fish at before sundown.

Tonight going to a support group pot luck supper for stroke survivors ans their families and friends.

When I first had to face the consequences of my husband's stroke (six years ago)
these people helped me cope.

GOAL: Reduce A1C,BP,tryglicerides,and weight. HOW? By not eating added sugar, using Omega3s, base meals on veggies, water aerobics at least 3X week and using NuStep when I can't get to the pool.

I had a great water aerobics class!

But in general today I don't have much energy.
Sinus problems keep popping up and that makes me very tired. I hate that! Chris
