Boy, do I understand mom brain! But what a way to go. :-) Congratulations!

One thing I've learned fairly recently is that what kind of calories really does matter, especially while lifting. I'd gotten into a rut of just making sure I was staying in my calorie range here on SP, but not particularly healthy. You probably already know that, but I didn't realize I was doing it. I've finally broken a plateau and it was all nutrition.

You are very welcome. :-) Have fun!

Hi Krista,

Thanks! I used to do this all the time but last year I was pregnant and lost all ambition to work out, and know that my daughter is here, I must still have mom brain because I apperantly lost all my knowledge.

I have been tracking and actually doing weight watchers, which worked well for the first 3 months. I lost 26.8 lbs of baby weight, but I have been stuck for a few weeks and even gained last week and I don't know why. I have 8 more lbs to my pre-pregnancy weight but have to get back into the shape I was in before because I am not close to my cloths!

I will try the 1400 per day this week and see how that goes. If I loose too much or nothing (I hope I don't gain!), I will adjust!

Thanks again :D

I believe that the eating guide is assuming that you are doing the workouts. The thing is that we all burn a different amount of calories working out or resting, so that really is just a guideline. I just watch my progress (fit of clothing, looks, scales if I must ;-) and if I'm stalled I play around with the calories. If I were you I definitely would eat 1400/day to begin with.

SP will give you a warning if you begin to burn too many without raising your intake. If you track all of your workouts in cardio it will keep a running of your weekly calories burned and let you know when it thinks you should raise your intake. You can either track them as circuit training, or use your hrm and enter it manually. I use my hrm every time I work out and just track it as cardio under "CLX" so I can keep an eye on my expenditure.

Normally you could click on my Spark Page and see what I mean, but I haven't been tracking here the past week or so. I track in my journal, then input to SP but I've been lucky to just get to work out lately, let alone log in here. :-)

Hope this helps!

Hi all,

I have just started CLX and I am trying to follow her recipe guide. It says I should get 1400 calories per day. Now, should I be adding back in calories from my work outs? When I have worked out before, I always have done that. So if I burned 200 calories, I would eat 1400 (if I was trying to lose weight at 1200 cals per day).

Also, I noticed the SP doesn't add in the calories that I have burned... do I need to set up my daily intake differently (making it higher for the calories I have burned).

I don't want to be eating too few calories and therefore all my work with CLX is wasted becasue my body is using muscle for fuel.

Thanks for the help!
