Still working with my Kettlebell and getting the form and exercise down pat. I do my exercycle first to warm up and my stretching exercises before the Kettlebell. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I just started with my Kettlebell workouts. Doctor says to start out easy.

My starting routine with it (as of tonight)-First I did 20 minutes on my exercycle and then started my stretching. After stretching I moved on to my start up on the Kettlebell.
8 sets of 50 reps with the Swing and then 5 sets of 25 for each arm with the Clean.
I am using my 8 pound (not kilo) Kettlebell.
I keep my shoulders down so I don't have a problem with them and swing only up to waist level.
By the end of the week I will have added to them and added a new Kettlebell exercise.

i love it that you posted here a year later!!! We are definitely slacking as a group aren't we? But , Mary, you haven't been slacking at all! Great work!
I am newly committed to getting in a workout ,e ven a mild one, as long as i move everyday! My gazelle is helping me do that as i was burned out with the rebounder for awhile. I used to run a little, only 3 miles/day but the arthritis in the knees/no cartilege left thing makes my running days over and done.
I hated running but loved how i felt when i finished so i know how you feelabout working out.Once we get going tho, it's all good.
OK, now there's 2 of us here, let's see who else shows up!

Fran

Well Fran, I hope that you don't break anything after posting this time! LOL. Stay safe so you can get your workouts in and keep this thread going!! I'll try and help too, by posting...deal?! :0)

So, what's my fitness/workout routine...

Well, I'm a runner and training for a marathon. I am training with a group through the Hudson Mohawk Road Runners so according to our training plan, I run 4 days a week. 3 days (Mon-Fri), I have to do 5 miles for a total of 15. So, I try to do this M-W-F, sometimes I have to have a 4th day because on Wednesdays I run with the Stryders in Saratoga and it's a speed workout so it's usually less than 5 miles. I do some strength training on the two other days...usually T-Th. I started seeing a personal trainer 2x/mo so that counts as a strength session that week. Saturdays are usually a non-workout day (though I may do something active...like Adirondack Extreme Adventure last Saturday...talk about an upper body workout!!LOL). Sundays are usually my long run day for marathon training. I also got a bike this year, so I'm trying to figure out how to get some bike time in. I also mentor for a running group 2-3 days a week so I get a little extra fitness in on those days.

Working out is relatively easy for me now, even though I don't always like it, which is a good thing since my eating is my downfall. Look forward to hearing what others do.

Mary

oh well. no one has written in here at all since i last did in may.
funny-i remember that as such a good day and a good workout. the yard looked very nice.
the next morning i fell and broke my foot and haven't had any workout routine since.
that's not how i planned to get ready for my dd's wedding.
let's get this thread up and running. we need to be active to avoid putting on the inches when, in a few weeks , it does start cooling down and we stay indoors more.
let's get moving!

We have had a request to start a new topic concerning fitness. This will be where you may post anything at all about exercise. What are your favourite work outs, equipment, gyms, etc? How long and how often do you work out? Really , anything!
Also, if yo have a question about fitness, you can ask it here and see if any members can help find the answer.

If you'd like to be accountable and post and track your work out routines this might be the place.

We'll see what develops.

let's go capital district sparkers!
