Everything in my house is incredibly healthy. I try to maintain a 51% raw diet. I eat pastured meats (local CSA) and only eat organic (and local as I can) produce. Anything processed is usually home-made. I make my own bread and snacks weekly. We do eat lots and lots of eggs though and we can't afford eggs from pastured birds so that stinks! We need more money haha We do ea soy though and I know some people thinks it's the devil now.
We only use pastured butter (and that's it for dairy except some cheese some times) for cooking or sunflower oil. We use EVOO to top our foods once cooked. We drink and eat a ton of the So Delicious Coconut products (milk, yogurt, ice cream, keifer! AMAZING)
I drink usually 10 cups of water per day. DD is still BFing quite avidly (on demand at 17 m/o) so I have to keep up my liquids and healthy fats.
Now according to my nutrition page my fiber is dangerously high? WTH I thought fiber was good. Spark actually told me to not eat as much fruits, veggies, and whole grains...Is fiber really dangerous?!
Don't be silly. I love to read your answers any time. As long as I can get here myself. Personally, I've not been making the best choices. I've been trying to eat raw til dinner then a healthy cooked vegan meal but I'm just so tempted my everything!
OK, I realize I'm really behind but life has been crazy and I haven't had much internet time. I am trying to eat a more rounded diet. I tend to eat just what sounds good which means some nights I eat a few apples or strawberries and then other nights I eat tons of carbs and no fruit or veggie. So I am working on well balanced meals and appropriate portion sizes because DH and I both tend to forget about portions. DH is really wanting to loose weight right now so my goals are basicly focused around him and his weight goals because I just need to get healthier as my weight is fairly well in check.
"Everything is ok in the end. If its not ok then its not the end."
My "diet" consists of trying to make good choices and logging it into the food tracker. Since we started prepping for our move (and even still, now that we have moved and are in our temporary location), I haven't been eating as great, but not gaining any weight anyway...
I just started after months of eating junk and justifying because I am breastfeeding. Now I am just watching my calorie intake and trying to increase my fruits and veggies and eat better and more thoughtfully.
I am trying not to deny myself treats either because that is when I fail. I will keep under my calories enough to have a treat.
It's hard right now as DH is still working temps while looking for a FT job. We are staying with my aunt and she gets help with food from her church. Once a month we get help at the food pantry. So it's a lot of processed foods and beef.
When we have a little extra money (after making sure DH has gas money and giving my aunt what we owe for rent etc.. we splurge on chicken or fish but that's usually just a couple meals, maybe weekly maybe monthly depends on how much wrk there is.
The best I can do food wise is try t keep my water intake up, increase my vegies and prepare eggs and meat with less fat.
It's very discuraging but at least I am not gaining lately but 180 is ridculous.
We've been talking a lot about your fitness regimen. Now I want to know about your diet. Are you following SP's meal plan, Weight Watchers, eating low carb, or maybe just trying to eat healthy in general? Give us the rundown on your diet and tell us how you stick with it!
