Oh Lisa, I hear your pain!! Christopher was my first that did not sleep through the night from the beginning (yes, I know, I seriously lucked out with the first 3) He would only take TWO 15-20 minute naps ALL day long, and at night, he'd wake EVERY 2-3 hours demanding, and I do mean demanding to be fed (nothing would calm him, not CIO, not patting, rocking, nothing at all - until he was nursed, he'd scream) It wasn't until he was 8.5 months old that he FINALLY started sleeping through the night... and the last couple weeks, he's now taking ONE 2hr nap!! YA! I will definetly give up the 2 15-20 minute naps for one nice long nap!! Its been awesome.

Homeschooling mom of 4

Dec 2008-Dec 2009 I faithfully maintained a 107-109... Unfortantely after Dec 2009, I let myself get back to a 115.6 - I'm back on track and am going to get back to my maintaining range again!

I read the Happiest Baby on the Block when Keanu was just a few days old and I swear it has saved my sanity.
Babybear has slept off and on through the night since almost the beginning. He is swaddled and sleeps with a white noise machine. I nurse him till he falls asleep then switch sides and do it again then put him in his crib.
So basically we get a few days of sleeping 9:30ish to 7ish then cosleeping until anywhere from 8 til 11. Then a few days of waking up anywhere from 2 to 6 times until I take him into my bed around 6.
I read a tip early on to find a good nighttime diaper and only change the baby if you have to and as soon as I did this his night wakings when from 60 to 90 minutes to 5-10.

I guess I'll just answer this one child at a time.

Cameron- He slept through the night at two weeks. Now he fights his hardest to not go to sleep. For naps, I have to lay down with him until he falls asleep. At night, he goes to his room and plays with his sister until he gives in and goes to sleep.

Leah- She slept through the night at 6 months. She has gotten to where she doesn't want to take a nap, so she goes to bed a little earlier than Cameron does. That doesn't mean she goes to sleep any earlier though, since they play for a little while. Last night, I had to lay down with her until about 1am to get her to sleep. Cameron fell asleep in her bed and she didnt want to sleep in his bed.

Jamie- She is just now sleeping through the night, at 6 months. Usually to get her to sleep, I have to hold and rock her. She loves to be held as tight as possible (without hurting her of course). She has been waking up ocationaly lately because of her teething, but overall she is an awesome sleeper.

I feed my LO as long as he wants and he seems to sleep longer that way... I co-sleep too, so I just roll over and feed in bed. We wake up anywhere from 1 time to 6 times a night depending on how he's doing. My LO has colic so it's really hard to say, I haven't really paid attention to what I'm doing. I know that if he gets over stimulated we have more issues, so I keep the noise levels consistent, lights low when I'm changing and no light during feedings. Daytime however is the polar opposite.

Good luck with it, I don't know what to suggest as I am rather blessed as my first slept through the night from wk2, and this one sleeps a good chunk at a time.

I dunno what his deal is.. this kid just DOES NOT SLEEP!!! Lil naps, up all night.. sigh.. I have tried cutting out foods thinking what I am eating is upsetting him.. I have tried feeding him food before bed, I have tried having daddy do it.. and the list goes on.. he WILL NOT SLEEP!!! My DS#2 was the same, but he had 10 ear infections within the first year, terrible allergies, ect. DS#1.. slept awesome! sigh.. Now, when he was born, he would give me a 6 hour and then a 4 hour.. naps during the day were always a fight.. UGH I am about to pull my hair out!
