Your hair loss is most likely hormonal here is where we talked about some things you can do.. As you can see.. you aren't the only one.. lol.. www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messagebo ard_thread.asp?board=8328x27305x20727583 Although I am sure shampoo isn't helping! I am a month of 'poo free' now.. I am a bit frustrated as it seems I am going through that detox period but I just put on a hat and think this too shall pass! I would completely recommend you adding a tsp of baking soda to your normal shampoo and then slowly using less shampoo and more baking soda every use. You will have to let us know if you decide to try it!
Wow! It sounds really great. I'm definitely going to give it a try. My hair is also really oily and needs to be washed everyday. Another thing I've been experiencing is some hair loss for about 6 months now. I'm wondering what the cause could be, maybe the shampoo? Although I do use an all natural brand.

The 12th cookie doesn't taste any better than the first cookie. So why eat 11 more?

Dec 2008-Dec 2009 I faithfully maintained a 107-109... Unfortantely after Dec 2009, I let myself get back to a 115.6 - I'm back on track and am going to get back to my maintaining range again!

note to self.. and others.. do not use coconut oil on a day you have to be seen in public.. or use a TINY bit! LOL
on the upside of this hormone ride, when the oil production finally settles down she will have lovely healthy hair. I know that's not much consolation now but thirty years from now she will look back see the benefit.

Corina... I say go for it! I am in week two of no-poo.. and I am LOVING IT!! I have been bs/acv 2-3 times a week where, remember.. I had to everyday! My hair is soft, no dry nor greasy! One thing she will have to remember is to rinse, rinse, rinse.. but it isn't as hard as too much shampoo!
Hey Corina, I see Michaela is 13, that is a tricky time for skin and hair and quite hard for girls as the hormones cause the body to produce extra sweat and oil. My daughter (now 19) would wash her hair and it would immediately look greasy my son (now 14) is going through the same thing, he wears his hair quite long. Let us know if it works on your daughter's hair.

Very interesting! I'm gonna try it. This may even be what needs to be used to help with Michaela's hair.
Thanks for the link/tip.

Sometimes that can be quite therapeutic though - to get really dirty and then have an amazing long shower and spend ages just pampering and cleaning. It can actually do the body good to allow the natural oils to repair the skin and hair before you strip it all off again.

I love that the link says "poo free" in it. LOL fortunately between my supershort hair and the kids with AA hair, we dont' use a ton of shampoo anyway.
